If I upgrade to the most recent version of JAVA should I empty the JAVA cache?
  3. Thanks for the amazing feedback! I will be checking everything out carefully. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I should place the remote sensor into the refrigerator portion?
  4. Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, I am looking for gross changes in temperature. As to power issues, I don't think that is a problem. Do you have a suggestion as to how to install the sensor?
  5. I have a Whirlpool upright refrigerator/freezer that occasionally ices up somewhere internally and fails to cool. That can be remedied by removing the food and leaving the refrigerator doors open for about 12 hours. Just a nuisance, except when we are are away from home. Then, if I were alerted to such a failure I could have local family take care of the problem. I have used an Insteon Wireless Thermostat at a remote location to monitor temperatures to ensure the heating system had not failed. It is the battery model to which I have added a power supply. That model thermostat has an external probe capability that appears it might work well with my refrigerator. My questions are: Has anyone used this device in the same or similar manner? If so, how did you install the probe in the refigerator?
  6. I have an Insteon wireless themostat that I use in reporting temperature only and sending an email when a setpoint calling for heat is reached. That lets me know if the heating system has failed. IIt is powered via a transformer and is accesible from the ISY and MobiLinc. It has a minor foible that appears when you query it but that is easily remedied by powering it down then repowering it or, better still, don't query it!
  7. It inexplicably started working. Go figure!
  8. I did a screen shot with my Mac and attempted to paste it here. I got the message: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community. Forums is highlighted on the screen shot and the text is door sensors.
  9. It is set on Forums and says Search Function is not Working when I do a search of any kind.
  10. I just tried "camera" and "door sensors" (w/o quotation marks) in Forums. No Results Found for either.
  11. Tried it this morning and now it does not work at all. I simply get the message that it is not found.
  12. Thanks, Shannong.
  13. Bad news. I just checked and all 5 of my sensors are v.43
  14. Good advice all. I will upgrade to 4.2.22 ASAP and I will monitor the life of the newly installed batteries.
  15. Yes, they are, Lee. That is why I switched the remote ones to lithium. Will see what happens. Glad to hear your experience has been favorable. Perhaps my problem may have been solely related to the Smarthome provided batteries. Will see.
  16. I tried to do a search on this topic but ran into problems with the search engine so please forgive me if my concerns have been addressed elsewhere. I have 3 door sensors at a remote location that will not be visited over the next 3 months. One of those batteries had drained over a very short timeframe (supplied with device) so I replaced them with lithium battetries. I have 2 devices at my home and both have quickly drained their batteries (supplied with devices). I replaced these with standard batteries. The doors at the remote location are opened once a week on average. My concern is that I will not visit the away location for a little over 3 months. If the devices don't last that long they are not of any real use to me. I do not have the option of getting power to these devices. While in linking mode I turned off the LED on all and set low battery status reporting to the longest interval allowed by the software. I am inclined to turn off battery status reporting also the next time I am there (that is another pain since you can't do this remotely using the ISY) since it is of no real value. I have thermometers at both locations that constantly report internal and external temperature, time, date, and other data and their batteries do not require replacement but once a year. Seems to me that there is something wrong with my setup of the devices or with the devices themselves.
  17. When I attempt to search on more than one word I get a message that there appears to be a problem with the database.
  18. This morning mine displayed properly on the device, in ISY and on MobiLinc.
  19. My initial observation about the display correctly showiing the current state following being turned off and repowered seems to have been in error. I have repeated the process and the screen display is erroneous (188). However, the display in MobiLinc is correct. Also, a check of the main shows the correct mode and setpoint. Will pursue this more tomorrow.
  20. Stu: I did as you suggested! Duh! The program worked perfectly. That problem is solved. I am now considering plugging it into a SwitchLinc so I can turn it off and on, if needed, to update its current state on the ISY and MobiLinc. The above program will then run and reset the mode and setpoint. Messy workaround but it should get the job done. I will set it up and test it tomorrow,
  21. I wrote the following program to reset the mode and setpoint following a power failure. Time will tell if it works. If Status 'Thermostat / Thermostat (Main)' is Mode Off Then Set 'Thermostat / Thermostat (Main)' Mode Heat Set 'Thermostat / Thermostat (Main)' 68° (Heat Setpoint) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  22. The display in MobiLinc and ISY remained blank for temperature so I unplugged the thermostat. When it powered up, the temperature displayed correctly in MobiLinc and on the ISY. However, the heat set point had disappeared! That is critical since the location of this thermostat experiences routine power outages and the only reason the thermostat is there is to send me a notification when the heat setpoint has been reached and thus telling me that the onsite heating system has failed. I am aware that using batteries could avoid this but I will not return to this location for 4 months and I doubt the batteries would last that long. Bummer!
  23. I recently installed a 2441ZTH with the plug-in It is behaving as described above. If I query the device using MobiLinc the current state for temperature disappears. It also disappears from the main display in the ISY. I tested the notification process I set up to email me when there was a call for heat and that feature works despite the fact that the current state for temperature is not displayed. I plan to wait and see if the display restores.
