  1. Thanks. Understood this in general but with many device "felt" link with PLM was a default scene. Clearly wrong way to think.
  2. Lee. Thanks. Does SH documentation simply hint but never outright say this? There was lots of mentions about scenes so in OP I considered it might be the case. Just would expect clear... CAN ONLY BE CONTROLLED FROM SCENE in their docs. But hell I could have just missed it. Next time I'll have two cups of coffee before a morning "simple" project. Just for kicks are there other devices that have same requirement ?
  3. I didn't miss it and it works -- Thank you for confirming. It is clear that Iolinc relay must be a responder to scene tht is controlled and that one can't directly set ioLinc relay state in combination with Momentary C and get desired results. Again Thanks. Now, will someone please explain why for future reference?
  4. I've already factory reset iolinc and restored via ISY. Did it again and still same results.
  5. Thanks for the shot but iolinc is not linked to anything other PLM. Always controlled via simple programs mentioned. At this point I'm turning iolinc on and off from ISY console to test.
  6. I've had an open garage door and close door program that used status of a triggerlinc and ioLinc in momentary A mode for 3-4 years that worked well but had to pick program so not simpliest mode for others to use and with a power failure true Triggerlinc status was lost until it was activated again. I just wired a hardwired set of NC contacts to the ioLinc sensor inputs. My goal is to simply open and close garage door by issuing an on (open) or off(close - although on vs off action not really important) command to the ioLinc. Thought it was simple: Wire contacts -- done Set ioLinc to Momentary C mode -- done Problem is when turning iolinc on and off, only On command is processed and it either opens or closes door as If ioLinc is still in Momentary A mode and sensor did not exist? Read so many threads but I'm either dense today or missing something? Please help me see the obvious? Am I misreading http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... n_I/O_Linc The iolinc is not in a scene -- is that missing link -- no pun intented!
  7. Thanks.
  8. My water bill has been too high last couple years and I want to take advantage of the irrigation module this year. The problem is that Middle Tennessee weather is dominated by pop-up storms during the summer months so you can have 3 inches of rain in one spot and none in an area 1/4 mile away. The closet WeatherBug stations to my house are over 5 miles away -- meaning for rainfall they would be worthless ion many occasions. What are all the variables the irrigation module needs to be accurate and could rainfall be entered/obtained from another very local source? ....even if I had a gauge that required me to read and enter the data by hand or if very lucky found some electronic rain sensor that could measure, transmit, and dump daily. If this is not possible are there other suggestions to get benefit of such well thought out irrigation logic?
  9. Fully understand and not a problem. You guys are best. I was just amazed that smart home had no idea and it is their device.
  10. First time someone as user or DDI hasn't posted a response before I could get offlline .... What makes it really funny is I called Smarthome "Gold Line" and asked for advice. They said it was not common device and they were going to create lab so they could research and post how these variables interact. BTW, I've got programs to take care of both devices and they works great with pseudo random 10 5 5 settings so I'm more curious than anything else.
  11. Thanks Lee. Going to have to reveal my ignorance --- What do Holdoff Time and Hysteresis mean in this context? What is the affect on system when each is changed up or down. I'd just be guessing at this point. I looked at Smarthome page and they list values by different names as described in their software.
  12. Okay, I left most synchrolinc defaults but raised holdoff time thinking that would be the delay between events (knew it was not case when max it allowed was 17.085 seconds) and account for time washing machine was switching between phases in cycle. My Settings are in image. Log file of full washing cycle run follows and there were I believe 7 on and off cycles. Base off state Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 05:44:24 PM System Log Started cycle Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 05:50:59 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 05:56:08 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 05:56:26 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:12:00 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 06:12:18 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:14:00 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 06:14:17 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:16:00 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 06:22:18 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:26:07 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 06:26:25 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:28:07 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 100% Tue 2014/04/22 06:28:25 PM System Log Laundry Room / Laundry:Washer SynchroLinc Status 0% Tue 2014/04/22 06:34:08 PM System Log end of cycle Can I tune the synchrolinc setting to have a single on and off? ... or do I account for on/off state via a variable by accounting time required for change between phases using program(s)?
  13. Thanks. All I could find. Will just test.
  14. Lee: Looks straight forward but so that I don't waste time is there any level of write-up that describes how these field interact? I've searched 10 times but can't get magic keywords. Paul
  15. I hope this is not inappropriate and I'll delete if it is.... I'm working with io_guy to get a VenLink or modified DevLink to support all of us that want to use this excellent thermostat. If Venstar does not provide a test unit for his use, I plan to donate half the price for his efforts and wanted to see if others would like to chip in. DSCLink and GCLink are a big part of my ISY environment and I appreciate his efforts to support these third party devices. As a Cross link, other details are at: viewtopic.php?f=82&t=14272 FWIW following is edited email chain about supporting new API and Skyport Cloud at same time: From: Hart2HArt To: thermostatsupp. I'm very interested in using the T5900/T6900 thermostat in my home automation system (would replace T1800? with Insteon adapter). My question is can the new firmware provided API and the Skyport Cloud services exist at same time. I'd use the REST interface from an UDI ISY to control setting and obtain current variables based on living events. However, I want access to the great graphical interface from iOS and PC devices that your Skyport Cloud system provides. Regards, hart2Hart ----------------------------------------------------------------------- to Hart2Hart Hi Paul, Yes, as of the latest firmware version you can use both the local API and the skyport service at the same time. I am not familiar with the UDI ISY system but I’m assuming there needs to be some work done on their end to make it mesh with our calls. The HTTP calls are pretty straightforward and the local API will have support for calls documented at http://developer.venstar.com/. Let me know if you have any further questions.
  16. Best product support and advice from any company
  17. Thanks Teken. I had forgotten all about seeing the SynchroLinc announced -- had no use for it at the time. Does anyone have time to post a screen shot or listing of the settings that can be controlled via ISY. I"m going to need to have someone pull dishwasher for access and want to make sure I can fine tune through ISY control. Otherwise, I'll have them install power plug place under sink next to it for easy access -- which I should probably do anyway.
  18. As we wait to see Venstar's response on test unit.... Based on the REST API protocol, should I be able to use DevLink's (on temp basis) generic parser to obtain and set variables in ISY on a polled basis. I'd send settings like setpoints and mode from Network resources as described above. One other point, does it look like the new API and the cloud service could coexist or are they mutually exclusive?
  19. I've got Hot water pump controlled by an Appliancelinc. It is controlled based on combination of time of day and if security system is armed away -- this all works great. In addition, there is a keypadlinc button set as a controller for the very rare very late night or very early morning shower. Now to the question .... I could use the keypadlinc button when washing clothes or dishes outside program timing described above but life (according to my wife and me for that matter )with automation is supposed to be simpler and more energy efficient. Therefore, how can I sense either washing machine is running so I can adjust programs above (with another variable probably) to control Appliancelinc. I think I've got programming covered (famous last words) and am looking for how the experts would approach sensing/determining the machines are running without some overt action like pressing an extra button.
  20. Michel/UDI team: Understand you're fully consumed with zwave at moment. My wife and interior decorator have Been pleading with me to replace current venstar with adapter (don't want to type how they describe them) Any chance this could become supported via API thus enabling MobiLinc direct control. I'm gonna contact io_ guy and see what can be done on temp basis. Since smarthome brought out branded tstat it's been obvious no promised adapter was ever going to happen. This API appears to be venstars answer.
  21. It did work as described and the program showed but I finally realized why it was confusing. This is an 8 button KPL so the A button controls a load with the load wire simply capped and the D button is just a kpl button -- so as they say apples to orangees. I apologize for doubting you Erik and thanks Lee.
  22. Thanks for reminding me of current method but it was possible at some point. In fact I confirmed all just before making the change and it worked fine. As you can see isy used to allow the choice for on off. I'm guessing newer KPL firmware removed option at some point so UD had to change method so it would cover all versions. Michel / others at udi can you confirm?
  23. Thanks, it should work (cant remember ... do I create the new scene to include the D button as a controller or responder to that scene). I've used this method for other simple scenes but situation this covers multiple scenes and has always worked so I've always had it as shown. Did it become not possible to have program as originally written at some point?
  24. I've got two programs to 1)turn on or 2) Turn off all lights based on turning on/off a keypad button or sending one of two IR codes shown below (already changed to reflect change from Keypad A to D) : If IR 'IR_013' is Pressed Or Control 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - D' is switched On Then Run Program 'Whole House:All Lights' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If IR 'IR_014' is Pressed Or Control 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - D' is switched Off Then Run Program 'Whole House:All Lights' (Else Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If IR codes are sent then, I had been turning on keypad button (redundant if button started process but was never an issue) . Today I wanted to move keypad button but can not keep same method. Current Whole House:All Lights program below has worked for 3 or 4 years: If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - A' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Main Floor Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:2nd Floor Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Outside Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Basement Scene' 100% Else Set 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - A' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Main Floor Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:2nd Floor Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Outside Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Basement Scene' Off However if I simply update to select Keypad - D on same Keypadlinc then 100% and Off are not options to select for action. It looks like following by default and list of actions that are just many combinations backlight level. What has changed since original program written and what do I need to do to accommodate? If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - D' On 0 / Off 0 (Backlight Level) Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Main Floor Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:2nd Floor Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Outside Scene' 100% Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Basement Scene' 100% Else Set 'Master Suite / Master Bedroom:Keypad - D' On 0 / Off 0 (Backlight Level) Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Main Floor Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:2nd Floor Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Outside Scene' Off Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Whole House / Whole House:Basement Scene' Off
