Thermostat 2441ZTH
Lee, thanks for extra effort. I'm still wondering if section from page 13 of user manual indicates it can do more with a different software link mode. Funny thing is it has reported temp on its own. Just not sure cause. From page 13 including footnote. INSTEON ProgrammingAdd INSTEON Wireless Thermostat as a ControllerINSTEON Wireless Thermostat can be set up to control other INSTEON devices or trigger software events when there is a change. The following INSTEON Wireless Thermostat changes can be configured as a controller (note that when linked to an INSTEON Thermostat, these commands will not function):• Group 1 - Cooling mode change (scene control)• Group 2 - Heating mode change (scene control)• Group 3 - Dehumidification, high humidity setpoint (scene control)• Group 4 - Humidification, low humidity setpoint (scene control)• Group EF - Broadcast on any change (notification group for linked software controllers)1 1 Group EF is a hexadecimal representation of Group 254 and can only be configured using software

I read full user manual and it speaks of link mode type EF on page 13 of manual. Footnote says can only be set by software and I don't see this in ISY interface. Is this what I'm missing?

ECONET EV100
EcoNet provided firmware update. Now it is on for open, off for closed, or x% for partial. Battery level does not shift so radically at open and close event. Still have variable and have not had it need to re sync. New version adds as a multi-level switch instead of as dimmer. I bought when first offered by Smarthome but just installed so had early FW. It can be FW upgraded by some controllers. It is simple but so far I can recommend.

Thermostat 2441ZTH
I'm not getting Current Status / "Temperature". I deleted and re-added (even used old rule from Venstar dys that it be in Off Mode). It has batteries and is hooked to a 5VDC Power Supply - measured at 5.27. Following is a log of Query and there is nothing that looks like temp or double temp but humidity is clearly there. What am I doing wrong or is it a bad unit. Can anyone (or to those that have already responded are you saying you have one and see that it does) confirm it should be sending Temp on query? Thermostat 2441ZTH
Thanks. What do you mean by activated? It shows humidity so Thats why I assumed it would show temperature. I was going to use programs based on temp but a scene based on heat cool activation might work. I've got logic based on temp ranges. Until today was using outside temp for purpose of some control of unfinished basement area.

Thermostat 2441ZTH
Thanks Lee. I've got dual band switches a couple feet away but I installed a spare access point in outlet very near and it added. Now the problem is I can see everything from tstat on ISY except current state which I assume would be temp and is what I actually wanted. What do you think? BTW I was able to wire to a 5 V power supply rather than use batteries. Edit: It finally displayed. Does temperature have to change to transmit. I though a query would get it since it is plugged in...

Thermostat 2441ZTH
I want to add 2441ZTH direct to ISY without one of SH's wired versions -- using as remote temperature sensor only. Is this possible?. If so, any special steps because it is a wireless device or no wired version exists? I don't see it in device list or the special area for wireless device adds.

ECONET EV100
I have EconNet EV100. It linked to ZWave in ISY as a Dimmer which in itself is not a problem to me. My testing indicates the way to operate if for simple open and close is to issue: 100% for Open (On and Fast On do not appear to work) Off for Close Battery Level (with brand new tested batteries) shifts in large range when received just after and open or close. Could go from 98% to 72% and then a few seconds later a query will move it back to 98%. In order to save battery life, I've set a variable that keeps last vent state and does not issue command again if program is calling for last known state. Another program queries the state at startup and each day to confirm vent and variable are in sync. Does this match others setup and behavior? Thanks, Paul

Leak Sensors - A (Suggested) Complete Program Package
Brian: Thanks for well though out suite of Leak Sensor programs that account for leak sensor quirks. I looked at original post and did not see this update. Did you decide it worked? Thanks, Paul

Schlage BE469
Got it. I installed backing reinforcement plate and long screws into supporting 2x4sbbut not nearly as good as you have. I've seen the long plates but never considered extra issues this brings with alignment. Good luck.

Schlage BE469
Assuming you have a deadbolt and an entry lock on the door... You adjust door so the entry lock catches on strike plate aligning the motorized deadbolt in the direct center of it's strike plate. In essence, slight tension is applied by closing the entry lock against the weathers strip.

2441ZTH
I'm considering using this wireless thermostat purely as a remote temperature sensor (media equipment room and attic). Does it link to ISY and report temperatures for both the internal and the external wired sensor or does it require acting as salve/master to a wired thermostat to get information to ISY?

Schlage BE469
I've only been using it a day but spent considerable time researching and my short time reinforces my purchase decision. I had a MorningLinc lockset and the handles are so small it can be difficult to grip with something in your hands so I switched to a deadbolt and put lever lock in the entry lock opening. The lock is inside garage to enter house so not weather exposed. I'd be slow to place this unit (electronic touch screen) where it was not covered from blowing rain or maybe direct southern exposure to sunlight all day. However, that is supposition on my part, it may be fully engineered for these conditions and not a problem. Others direct observation would be much more valuable in this area. The BE469 is well supported by ISY with lock settings and usercodes being managed by ISY. The early very short range issues were not a problem for me. However to be honest, I purchased a 5 DBi antenna to use while adding devices and then switched to UDI lower DBi supplied external and it works flawlessly for control (so far). Be aware, with any motorized deadbolt, you will need to make sure you have proper alignment of the door and frame. Finally, I performed setup/install sequence on lock improperly before realizing a simple factory reset on lock would get it working correctly after spending an hour looking for other issues (not ZWave the bare lock). I would purchase again.

I suspected this since new batteries are always a little over rated voltage. At 6.26V, the reading is 100% not 104% so it is linear starting at 6.0V.
-
Schlage BE469
Swapped for older batteries and I can confirm linear with 5.54V/6.0V = 92%. Guess now we'll either have to let ISYlogger plot and wait for failure point. I've measured 9V batteries in smoke alarms and they report needing replacement when 8.5V was measured. I'm sure that had large safety margin.

Thanks io_guy. Since you have a unit that has been in use for a year, we can determine manufacture's intended method using a multi-meter to get a battery pack voltage reading and a little math . If you get a few minutes, would you indulge my curiosity? Edit: Actually, I've got some older batteries from the MorningLinc unit this unit replaced so I could install them for a % reading and then test them for voltage.

Just installed BE469 and it linked first time and so far works great. It has a property of battery level. I'm guessing that this level is linear based on voltage so that 6 volts would be 100% and 0 volts would be 0%. First, is this correct. If it is correct the failure will occur well above 0% so my question.... Has anyone been using one long enough to know at what % I should consider replacing the batteries? It would be great if 100% was full charge and 0% was linear representing typical low voltage threshold but I've never seen it done that way.- Run at Startup
Thanks. Never even dawned on me it existed before this post.- Run at Startup
Thanks I did not locate the ability to repeat every x minutes. Will be much clearer.- Run at Startup
Thanks but now I'm officially confused because the program below is marked to run at startup and I receive the notification every time the ISY reboots. There would seem to be an implication that when the If condition is blank to run the then statements at least at startup. If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Send Notification to 'JPaulText' content 'ISY Reboot' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Another tidbit... the last run time etc is not recorded when programs are run at startup even though I know they ran. Is this as expected or is there something inconsistent with this mechanism?- Run at Startup
To get a program running every 30 minutes I create a program with no If clause and mark it to Run it at startup with a then command that "Runs Then" the program that will run every thirty minutes. In effect, I am priming the pump to get program started running every 30 minutes. Example below: Is this correct or is there a more straight forward way to do this? Climate:Prime Outside Temperature -- Marked to run at startup If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Run Program 'Climate:Set Outside Temperature' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') 'Climate:Set Outside Temperature' If Time is Last Run Time for 'Climate:Set Outside Temperature' + 30 minutes Then $Climate_Outside_Temperature = $Thermostat_Great_Outdoor_Temp $Climate_Outside_Temperature Init To $Thermostat_Great_Outdoor_Temp Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')- Can't Figure Out Why This Program Doesn't Run
Confirm that the program is enabled. I've saved programs on a few occasions and they were not enabled. Also, is the program in a folder with conditions that have not been met? - Schlage BE469
