Paid WF 3.0.24 in PG3: "Please enter at least one station ID"
someguy replied to Snibley's topic in WeatherFlow
Which station ID formatting is correct? 12345 00012345 ST-00012345 ? -
I downloaded a backup from PG2 and then uploaded that to PG3 using the appropriate button to do so. once this was done, I was not able to figure out how to find those nodes and install them. I'm sure it is simple, but how do I do so and do I need to uninstall or delete them from either the ISY or the PG2 before I do so? if so, where should they be deleted?

Paid WF 3.0.24 in PG3: "Please enter at least one station ID"

I used your help above to get past this "please enter at least one station ID" error. Thank You! but now I get "failed to get station units, unable to continue". -
Over the course of a number of years, I had many times that I would find multiple copies of different devices inside of the alexa app. as an example, Id wind up with two or three different copies of "kitchen lights" and when I'd ask alexa to turn the kitchen lights on, it would say "i found more than one device with the name kitchen lights...". I would delete all but one of them and this would solve the problem. recently, I had a problem and ended up having to start over with my Polisy and in the process, my portal got deleted. i went in to recreate the portal "spokens" list for amazon echo... I took that opportunity to delete all of the spokens from the list inside of the echo app. now, despite the fact that there are no listed "kitchen lights" devices in my device list, my amazon gives the same "I found more than one device with the name kitchen lights...". I called amazon echo and they said i need to have universal devices reset my portal. I dont think that;ll solve the problem. I also tried disabling and re-enabling the universal devices "skill" in the the alex app. does anyone have any suggestion as to how to delete these "invisible" copies of my devices (that I've already deleted but are somehow still there)?

@larrylix I had it on from some time in the past to get access to my device from outside. I should have turned it off. I am looking on my router list and the Polisy is "greyed out" meaning that it is not on the network. any other suggestions?
-
i also tried turning off the port forwarding and the IP address reservation on my router, then restarting my router and then pressing the "multifunction button" on the Polisy. as I held in the multifunction button, nothing happens to the green lights. they are apparently supposed to start flashing, one at a time but the left light just remained on while i was holding in the button.

My polisy and isy are not reachable on my network. I was in the process of trying to upgrade my polisy software and must have done something wrong because now my ISYonPolisy and my Polisy are not on my network. I’ve tried restarting both of them and restarting my network. It is a hard-wired connection and I restarted the switch that the Polisy is plugged into, as well. I have a backup of my ISY that I took but don’t have a backup of my Polisy that I know of. the left light of the Polisy is lit up green and the other two are off. The port that the internet is plugged into is solid yellow on one side and flashing green on the other. I have NOT used a paperclip to try to upgrade the unit but would be happy to try that.

What is the current software version for Polisy? I’m on 3.0.40

@MrBill as i run through the logic of your answer, I'm not sure it will work. with the way you have it set up, anytime the garage door is open, it will notify me if I am out of range of the homelink. so if someone opens the garage door while I'm away from home, it would notify me. (I am part of a family of 6 so the garage does get opened while I'm away fairly often.) also: if the homelink nearby indicator goes from "true" to "unknown" while I'm away from home, it would also notify me if the garage door happens to be open. unfortunately, this homelink nearby indicator often goes to "unknown" for a period of time and then switches back to "false". am I wrong or are there other suggestions?

here is what I'm trying to do: I want to be notified if I'm driving away from the house and my garage door is left open. I'm using my TeslaEV Node server (which is great by the way) to tell where my car is. it has three results for "Homelink In Range": "true", "false" and "unknown". I would like it to only check to see if the garage door is open when it changes from "true" to "false" (and not when it changes from "unknown" to "false"). this seems so simple but i can't come up with a way to make it work. any help would be appreciated.

@Techman: I’ve done this before and when it forgets the links, the PLM has no links. None. when I restore the links, it has over 200 links.
-
Over the past year or so, I have had my PLM lose all of its links. It just stops responding to things happening in the house and I have to “restore” the PLM. right now, I’m out of town and don’t have a computer (just my iPad and iPhone). Is there a way to “restore” it with one Of these? I normally use the admin console. more importantly, for long-term, is there a way to fix this? My PLM is only about a year old… and I’m on ISYonPolisy. I was kind of figuring that this was a symptom of an aging PLM but this one isn’t that old. also of note, this used to happen to me on an older PLM and on my old ISY occasionally. Odd. Makes me wonder if there is a bug in my programming but I suspect someone will (hopefully) tell me that there is no way for any ISY (or ISY on Polisy) to delete the PLMs links?!? I appreciate any help,

I am using this PG3 TeslaEV Node server and it works well for my needs. I do have my car named and I didn't have any trouble setting it up. (I will add that when my daughter changed the name of my car, on the car's touchscreen, it deactivated the connection to the PG2 Node server... so avoid that headache, unless the PG3 version fixed that problem.)

@Javi I guess I have the terminology wrong. Aren't the node servers, in my diagram below, the little rectangles inside of the Polyglot? also: in my diagram, is it Link A or Link B that the PGC reports as "connected"? in my case, all of my "node servers" on PG3 are indicated as "connected" but some work and some don't.
-
@Javi perhaps I’m splitting hairs, but aren’t the node servers running on Polisy (or a polyglot)? If so, they’ll always be “connected”.
-
I am not referring to PGC nodes. My Polisy Version 2 is running version 2.2.13 frontend version 2.2.9-5 ISY on Poly version 5.4.1 (both firmware and UI) the problems that I am having with the two node servers are programming problems that both of the Node server authors are working on, or at least i hope they are. both of the nodes don't work at all, currently. (but they say "connected" in Polisy.)
-
I'm having trouble with a couple of node servers. I've inquired and they are being worked on, I am told. Despite them being out of commission, they both say "connected" but they aren't working. maybe I need to know what "connected" means. could there also be another indicator that tells if the Node server is actually working? or when it last received data from it's source?

@Brian Hi checked the connection from the neutral input to the neutral output and it is good. I checked the resistance of these three green "inductors" with them ON the board and one has a resistance of 26 ohms and the other two have a resistance of 2.6 ohms. i tested the three capacitors with an ESR meter and they all three show to be good. it is a synchroLinc. the problem that the unit was having was that it was not relaying it's on/off status to the PLM automatically. it could be querried and it would respond correctly.
