  1. I am using this PG3 TeslaEV Node server and it works well for my needs. I do have my car named and I didn't have any trouble setting it up. (I will add that when my daughter changed the name of my car, on the car's touchscreen, it deactivated the connection to the PG2 Node server... so avoid that headache, unless the PG3 version fixed that problem.)
  2. I found the solution here and IT WORKED! Thank you again @larryllix!!! And for anyone else with this problem, the files that I deleted were in the C drive Program Files/Java Thank you and sorry to bother anyone.
  3. Yes, I did. I even tried deleting Java and then re-downloading it. i get this error when trying to delete the apps so maybe this is the problem. How can I fix this?
  4. I just updated from v.5.4.1 to v.5.4.3 and my ISY has restarted and I am getting this error: yes, i've deleted my java cache. any suggestions?
  5. @Javi I guess I have the terminology wrong. Aren't the node servers, in my diagram below, the little rectangles inside of the Polyglot? also: in my diagram, is it Link A or Link B that the PGC reports as "connected"? in my case, all of my "node servers" on PG3 are indicated as "connected" but some work and some don't.
  6. @Javi perhaps I’m splitting hairs, but aren’t the node servers running on Polisy (or a polyglot)? If so, they’ll always be “connected”.
  7. I am not referring to PGC nodes. My Polisy Version 2 is running version 2.2.13 frontend version 2.2.9-5 ISY on Poly version 5.4.1 (both firmware and UI) the problems that I am having with the two node servers are programming problems that both of the Node server authors are working on, or at least i hope they are. both of the nodes don't work at all, currently. (but they say "connected" in Polisy.)
  8. I'm having trouble with a couple of node servers. I've inquired and they are being worked on, I am told. Despite them being out of commission, they both say "connected" but they aren't working. maybe I need to know what "connected" means. could there also be another indicator that tells if the Node server is actually working? or when it last received data from it's source?
  9. here are the device links tables:
  10. @Brian Hi checked the connection from the neutral input to the neutral output and it is good. I checked the resistance of these three green "inductors" with them ON the board and one has a resistance of 26 ohms and the other two have a resistance of 2.6 ohms. i tested the three capacitors with an ESR meter and they all three show to be good. it is a synchroLinc. the problem that the unit was having was that it was not relaying it's on/off status to the PLM automatically. it could be querried and it would respond correctly.
  11. it appears that most inductors have stripes. mine has three dots. i believe that the two on top are for polarity so that leave the green color of the inductor and the red color of the dot. using this page i found on google, I'm not sure what to make of it. any other suggestions or help in identifying this (apparent) inductor?
  12. I’m trying to repair an old 2423A5 synchrolinc. It won’t report state changes to my Isy. can anyone identify these three green components? I think two of them are bad. They have a small black/blue and a small red dot on top of them and a larger red/orange dot on the side but no makings of any kind. On the PCB, they are marked L1, L3, and L8. This makes me think that they are inductors. How could i better identify them so I can replace them?
  13. I've found quite a few videos online and other descriptions as to how to repair old insteon switches that have gone bad. Has anyone put together an algorithm as to where to start, how to test components and how to replace them? I have about 10 old switches, surely some of which can be repaired fairly easily with a soldiering gun and some capacitors (or whatever they are). Can anyone point me to a solution that has worked for them?
  14. sorry to chime in with an unhelpful post, but I switched to IoP without changing my PLM and they worked just fine. I then switched to a new PLM and updated them correctly and they still work fine.
  15. @kzboray Okay, I found the location you kindly showed me and I put a file there called token.txt. I changed the ownership as you also kindly showed me. it seems like it helped or fixed the problem with the token file, but I am still getting this error: 2022-02-06 06:14:40,773 Thread-1 udi_interface ERROR august_poly:parameterHandler: Error starting August NodeServer: unexpected EOF while parsing (<unknown>, line 0) any suggestions for how to address this problem? Thank you guys so much for your help!
  16. here's one more thought I have about this. I am SSH'ing into my Polisy, and listed there are the nodes that I have on PG2. but this "AugustLock" Nodeserver is installed on PG3. do i need to FileZilla into a different port to get to PG3? obviously I don't understand this stuff all that well, I guess. I really appreciate all of the help!
  17. @larryllix I'm getting closer. I found that inside of the "/" there is a file called "var" inside that there is one called "Polyglot" and then another inside that called "nodeservers" but there is NOT one inside that called "AugustLock". when I try to create one there or move one there, I get an error that says "permission denied". how can I fix that? the "/" (root?) file has these attributes: but the "var" file has these: am I "public", I'm logged in as admin though?!? here's the error log: Starting upload of J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Response: New directory is: "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Command: mkdir "AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: mkdir "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: mtime "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: get attrs for /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: no such file or directory Command: put "J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt" "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: open for write: no such file or directory Error: File transfer failed Status: Starting upload of J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Response: New directory is: "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Command: mkdir "AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: mkdir "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: mtime "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: get attrs for /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: no such file or directory Command: put "J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt" "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: open for write: no such file or directory Error: File transfer failed Status: Starting upload of J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Response: New directory is: "/var/polyglot/nodeservers" Command: mkdir "AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: mkdir "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: mkdir /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: permission denied Command: cd "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock" Error: Directory /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock: no such file or directory Command: mtime "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: get attrs for /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: no such file or directory Command: put "J:\var\polyglot\nodeservers\AugustLock\token.txt" "/var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt" Error: /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt: open for write: no such file or directory Error: File transfer failed
  18. Larryllix: I appreciate you taking the time to make the suggestion for Filezilla. I've downloaded it and I cannot get connected it connected to my Polisy. any suggestions on which port to use? when I SSH to my Polisy, I don't use a port.
  19. I am trying to use the "August" lock NodeServer and it requires a file to be on my Polisy. the instructions for the nodeserver suggest this: /var/polyglot/nodeservers/AugustLock/token.txt but i suspect it could be called almost anything. My August NodeServer doesn't work because I don't have this file available to store my token in. I am using windows 10 SSH to access my polisy and I cannot figure out what the command is that would create such a file. I've looked everywhere. I'd appreciate any help. (also, there is not a specific forum for the August Lock Webserver, for some reason.
  20. @waffles Thank you so much for taking the time to type in your answer. I did the same thing I opened each one, and then just clicked "save" (not necessary to click "update") and clicked "save" at the bottom of the main page and they worked. I had about 80 or so of them but it was worth the time. @dbwarner5 Thank you so much for putting together this guide. you could add this as one of the steps for those who have "network resources".
  21. another snag: after migrating to "isy on polisy", none of my network resources work. any suggestions for how to fix that? they're all there and as far as I can tell, they all look fine but none of them work.
  22. I'm still trying to figure out differences between the polyglot cloud and the PG2 or PG3 yes, I understand that the cloud one runs in the cloud and the others run on my Polisy in my basement. but why would I want them running in my basement if they could run in the cloud? (I'm assuming my internet connection is 100% stable, even though it is not) also: there is a tesla nodeserver in PG Cloud and on PG2. neither seem to work and I have a ticket in to try to get these fixed, but I'd like to understand why I'd want to run this at home if it can run on the cloud?
  23. @tmorse305 and anyone else who might be able to help: I've tried rebooting ISY quite a few times and it continues to do this over and over, counting up to 100. problem resolved on its own, somehow, after a few reboots. Thank you for any help and sorry to cry wolf.
  24. I am going through this migration process and my ISY on Polisy Admin Console continues to have the banner pop up like this: and when it gets to 100%, it goes away and then comes back and starts over, counting up to 100 again. it has done this at least 5 times so far. How many times should this happen with a "Restore ISY"? also, it now is saying "Refreshing Views" in the blue window (pictured above) as it ticks across again and again. if that helps any.
  25. if my ISY on Polisy is 5.3.0 and my ISY is 5.3.4 Can I use a backup from ISY 5.3.4 to restore into an "ISY on Polisy" that is on 5.3.0? if not, then what should I move the ISY to before going through this process?
