Power glitch-Alexa finds nothing-everything works
stusviews replied to stusviews's topic in Amazon Echo
Down to about 1/2 the devices and Aleaxa still can't find any connected home devices. I cleaned both the portal and connected home list. I had no difficulty when I had even more that 300. I still have no difficulty with the functioning of voice commands, only the Alexa message. Cleaning both the portal and the connected home list was quite a chore. Only one device can be selected at a time, there is no indication that you've selected the correct device, only a mouse click works (can't make a selection using the cursor keys) and no default is selected, so pressing [Enter] doesn't work. The connected home list is even worse because devices are listed randomly and there's no way to sort the list. -
Which Honeywell thermostat?

I find that shut works with devices, but not with scenes. OTOH, including off allows nearly anything. I just asked Alexa to spin off a scene. That worked. Spin on works, too, but Alexa won't accept push on nor push off

Anything's better than manually manipulating a dimmer. most especially a KPL button that changes state with each press.
-
Unless you're a slow sipper, a movie or book will get you closer to the end
-
Great. Now you're on the cutting edge
-
You don't need to take the fan down. Disconnect the load wire going to the ceiling box from the red KPL wire and connect the load wire to the line wire. Cap the red KPL load wire.

These are some commands I use for devices, not scenes. brighten, brighter, raise, dim, dimmer, lower, set/turn x to 40 (percent is understood and set doesn't always work)

See post #3 here.

The Hub only allows primary devices to be controlled by the Echo. So you can't include KeypadLinc buttons except for the load button load nor can you control the motor part of a FanLinc. Easy, but limited.
-
The connected home list is needed for both. Those in the portal list is for the portal only.
-
How did you add a Hub scene to the Echo? I've been able to add only devices. Or did you create an Echo group?
-
That requires the portal credentials. You can also access the AJAX interface by browsing to the IP address you assigned to the ISY, bypassing the portal altogether.
-
I use the same credentials when I use the AJAX interface as I do when using the applet. If I open the portal and select ISY Web access, the AJAX interface opens w/o credentials. But that's only if I use the portal. How do you access the AJAX intreface? I use the IP address from a browser.
-
No. One set of credentials to access the Admin Console no matter how you access it, from the desktop using the applet, from a browser, via the portal when selecting Install Admin Console or any other method. A different set of credentials to access the portal. But that's for the portal only, not for the Admin Console.
-
I use light for the scene and ceiling for the device as in, "Alexa, turn the bedroom light on," or "Alexa, set the bedroom ceiling to 30." BTW, you do not need to pronounce percent.
-
When I select Install Admin Console from the portal, I use the same credentials that I use when I log from my computer without the portal. I do not use my portal credentials. In fact, my portal credentials do not work to log in to the Admin Console.
-
Portal credentials are separate from ISY credentials.
-
What is the result of selecting ISY information?
-
Do you mean that you can't access the portal from a browser?
-
You do not need to forward any ports if you're using the portal. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/18015-amazon-echo-isy-step-by-step/

Power glitch-Alexa finds nothing-everything works
stusviews replied to stusviews's topic in Amazon Echo
I used a spoken that I had not yet created. As expected, Alexa could not find the device in my profile. I then created the spoken and had the Echo discover devices. Although Alexa couldn't find any devices, the spoken worked flawlessly. -

Everything works as expected except that Alexa reports, "I couldn't find any connected home devices." The only problem is what Alexa reports, not with what is actually found. -
Now that you mention it, I ran some tests. The response is quicker, but not the confirmation. I'm guessing that the confirmation is beyond your control. Thanks for speeding thing up
