  1. I filled in Short Name, Description, Contact name and Contact email. I did not fill in Address, Web Site nor Contact phone. I still get the blank blue screen.
  2. The portal shows the correct numbers of devices as before the power glitch, so does connected home. I didn't do anything with the ISY except to power cycle it. Everything appears to work including scenes, devices, programs, window coverings. The only abnormality is that Alexa consistently reports, "I couldn't find any connected home devices." Prior to the power glitch Alexa always reported a value for the number of connected devices.
  3. We had power turn off and on a few times within several seconds. The ISY was lit up including the red error LED. Power cycling the ISY solved that problem, but the Alexa gave "that command doesn't work ..." I browsed to the portal and did a refresh (twice) and opened the Alexa app and issued "Discover devices." Alexa replied with, "I can't find any connected home devices," but Alexa responds correctly to commands.
  4. One key is the spoken for the program, another is the program. The program name can be entirely different from the spoken. If you have a program where Then turns the volume up and Else turns it down, then you can say, "Alexa, turn <program_name> on," to raise the volume and use 'off' lower it. (Conditions are ignored. If you need a conditional response, then you'll need to invoke the ISY skill.) The Echo reserves the word "volume" for its own volume, so it's best to not use that word in the program name. You need to select Discover devices from the Connected Home menu whenever you make changes. It's also a good idea to refresh from the portal first.
  5. With only 14 devices, my suggestion is to factory reset everything and start over after writing down the names of the scenes you created and using the copy function the get a hard copy of all your programs. It'd be a great learning experience and I'm sure you'll improve greatly on what you've done
  6. Here's what the (now disabled) Skype Add-on did in Firefox:
  7. Insteon thermostats, both wired and wireless, have the four auto schedules that virtually all programmable thermostats have that will revert the temperature back to it's schedule. I am comfortable having Insteon signals operating my HVAC equipment for heating (and cooling). If heating turns on and not off, I'd know it. If I'm not here the system is off. If I need to know when I'm not here, then, yes, I do rely on my Insteon system which is controlled by direct wired reliable Insteon thermostats. The only difficulty I'm currently experiencing is voice control. Alexa's OK, but Izzy has some difficulties.
  8. Open your browser first, then select Purchase Modules, then return to the browser. Any activity?
  9. Another use for the BuzzLinc
  10. A network module is not needed to integrate the Echo and ISY. A subscription to the portal is required. Once the portal is installed and registered, not only will you have access to the ISY Connected Home which gives you the ability to control every device and scene, but you will also be able to add the ISY skill that allows control of locks and thermostats. All this includes secure remote access without have to set up port forwarding. The Insteon Hub 2 gives you the ability to control a few insteon devices. I used it until ISY provided an interface with the Echo.
  11. UDI may have created the MAC address and perhaps have access to you IP address, but they did not create the latter.
  12. Based entirely on the suggestions provided by jerlands and bambamf16. Thanks to you both. Four scenes. Only the first two devices are of concern, CR FanLinc-Motor (FanLinc Motor) and CR KPLH CR Fan (KPL button H). Although the scenes appear alike, the speed setting is set at the beginning of each scene, for example Four Programs: CR Fan High If Control 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light / CR KPLH CR Fan' is switched On <--the button And Status 'CR / Devices / CR FanLinc-Light 80 / CR FanLinc-Motor' is Off <--the motor Then Set Scene 'CR / Scenes / CR Fan-High' On <--the scene CR Fan Medium If Control 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light / CR KPLH CR Fan' is switched On And Status 'CR / Devices / CR FanLinc-Light 80 / CR FanLinc-Motor' is High Then Set Scene 'CR / Scenes / CR Fan-Medium' On CR Fan Low If Control 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light / CR KPLH CR Fan' is switched On And Status 'CR / Devices / CR FanLinc-Light 80 / CR FanLinc-Motor' is Med Then Set Scene 'CR / Scenes / CR Fan-Low' On CR Fan Off If Control 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light / CR KPLH CR Fan' is switched On And Status 'CR / Devices / CR FanLinc-Light 80 / CR FanLinc-Motor' is Low Then Set Scene 'CR / Scenes / CR Fan-Off' Off The scenes serve to allow both other controllers and use of the Echo to change the speed. The programs allow cycling through high, medium, low and off using one button. I may add beeps later. And thanks to BrianLee for the inspiration to begin with.
  13. That depends on the mode. In 4-scene mode and 8-scene non-Toggle, the buttons will always be in sync. If the remote is in 8-scene Toggle mode, then each button press is the opposite of the last press, so the buttons can get out-of-sync. Because the remote is a controller only, there's no way to use a program to change the state of the button.
  14. Michel, huddadudda; Please take your grievances someplace else. They're simply not appropriate for this forum. Thanks. Respectfully, Stu
  15. Good to know that the portal offers choices, uninformed and not informed. This or this
  16. I can set up two ISYs, but they don't communicate. I believe that version 5+ has that capability.
  17. I get that same scene/screen that's found in Canada--no words
  18. Which portal camera feature? If you mean the ISY Web Access through the portal, then that's enabled.
  19. Izzy cannot find zone one nor zone two as a spoken thermostat name. Izzy can find zone 1 and zone 2. Edit: still very inconsistent even using identical commands, sometimes zone 1 is recognized, sometimes not. Izzy can report the status of zone 2, but can't find zone 2 to change any setting.
  20. Use cut and paste into a new topic.
  21. Open/close sensors can also be updated by using a program to write updates and triggering them.
  22. I've been successfully using static IPs for my ISYs for quite some time. I attempt to be cognizant of which devices have which addresses. If I'm unsure, then I verify the address, I never guess.
  23. From the Echo app, go to Settings, Connected Home. Link with ISY. For scenes and devices, you won't need to ask Izzy at all. All spokens are created using the portal first, then from the Echo/Alexa app, select Discover devices. You'll still need to invoke Izzy to control thermostats and locks and the run the If section of a program.
  24. Try deleting and re-adding the ISY.
  25. UDI is very concerned about security. You DO NOT need to open any ports. That's the secure aspect of the portal. Check and double check the the ISY MAC address and the portal UUID are identical. IIRC, the portal requires all lower case.
