  1. What is it about the Insteon thermostat that's a problem?
  2. Make regular backups, especially after adding or changing something.
  3. Post #75 has a solution.
  4. My concern is thermostats and locks. I successfully added and named the locks. Izzy doesn't like "front door lock," nor "front door deadbolt" (i.e., can't find "front door"), "side door deadbolt" is accepted, but all locks are locked or unlocked. In response to tell Izzy to run [program_name], "Get status for which program?" At least the skill recognized "program." Izzy also can't find the "bedroom" or "living room" thermostat, but after a status question understands that a temperature is being asked for, so the skill is enabled. BTW, as of now "living room ceiling" is working--sometimes.
  5. If you wired dual-band devices so that they were, in fact, on opposite legs and still had difficulty, then you experienced the first of Insteon communication problems caused by the XPCR. Swapping circuits when they're on opposite legs of the split, single-phase electric supply is not in compliance with the electric code, may overload a neutral wire and, possibly, cause a fire because the neutral wire is not protected (i.e., not connected to a circuit breaker).
  6. Living room ceiling is a SwitchLinc dimmer. Alexa, ask Izzy to turn on the living room ceiling I could not find device living room. Turn on which device? When only the skill was available, this command worked. Also, I can give you detailed help for one of the following topics: Skill configuration, Controlling devices, Controlling Locks, Controlling Thermostats and Programs. Which topic can I help you with? You can try the following commands: Tell ISY to run program. Tell ISY to stop program. Ask ISY to get program status. Do you need help on another topic? which indicate that the skill is involved. When I told Alexa to ask Izzy to run program verticals, Alexa heard, ""yes why ride caro graham bird." When I tried again, Alexa offered help. Alexa, ask Izzy to lock all locks, Alexa heard, "Yes it to lock all lox." Sounds tasty. so I tried, ask Izzy to lock all door locks, Alexa replied with, "0 device locked successfully." I have a few Schlage Z-Wave locks which did lock successfully before I added Connected Home and disabled the skill.
  7. Tough but fun, like growing up.
  8. I'm using three Echos within one home, one portal, one Amazon account. All Echos have identical responses, so each light needs to be identified, for example, bedroom light, living room light, etc. I'd need at least one Amazon account and, as I read it, another portal to separate two Echos. I don't know what the fee is for additional portals.
  9. I seem to have lost the Skill. I had disabled the Skill some days ago and re-enabled the Skill today, but Izzy can't find any device, program, lock, etc. I do get messages that indicate that the Skill is enabled.
  10. The All ON seems to affect devices, not scenes, so you should be OK.
  11. Multiple portals and multiple Amazon accounts with one ISY would be ideal for me. All Echos would have access to all device, program and scenes, but each could be restricted, as desired. One portal would be even better, but I don't see a way to add more than Amazon account to the portal..
  12. The XPCR is fine for X10 modules. It's Insteon signals that may be negatively affected.
  13. Open Alexa and select Settings. Select your Echo. Is you Echo registered?
  14. Not if you don't delete your account. But, describe your difficulty in more detail. What do you mean by, "add any new spoken links?"
  15. You can just add the KPL button to a scene as a responder.
  16. Take advantage of Else statements. If the program is labeled "Christmas tree," then "turn Christmas tree on" and "turn Christmas tree off" would work because On runs Then and Off runs Else.
  17. AFAIK, the 2487S was and is available only as a 6-button device. What specific steps are you taking to factory reset the KPL?
  18. If "On only" is not selected, then the linked device(s) will turn off after the sooner of the MS or program setting.
  19. Which PLM version and how old is it?
  20. The quote (posts #74 and #77) was in relation to the FanLinc only!
  21. Yes, programs work. The program has to set the device, not call a scene.
  22. That doesn't work with the FanLinc. Asking Alexa to turn the <FanLinc name> off works, but <FanName> on does not, not does any program name that sets the FanLinc to a speed (except off) although the program works. Alexa thinks it does and always responds with "OK."
  23. Yes, LEDs or rather, their electronics, can place noise on the power line.
  24. The cost of the PLM should be described as a subscription
