After ISY port install, no portal tab under configuration

You image shows the MobiLinc portal, not the UDI portal. The portal you want looks like the attached image You'll need to delete the Mobilinc portal. Only one portal can be assigned at a time. -
At the location with the "replaced" ISY, bring up the ISY Finder (see post #5), select add and add the full IP address.

When I use the portal, I'm asked for an email and a password. Changes (e.g., add or delete devices, create or modify scenes or programs) are not available. But, the Admin Console (which allows changes), I'm asked for a user name, not email address and password which is different from the one I use for the portal. Correction: Variables can be changed.and thermostats can be adjusted.

You can use Echo with the 2245 Hub. No scenes, no secondary buttons and a few other restriction. The ISY is also Echo compatible by adding a portal and is currently rudimentary, but is improving daily. Have you been reading the Echo related posts?
-
Use different credentials for the Admin Console (i.e., user name & password) than for the portal.

There is a difference in quality. Get a good brand such as Coleman or Southwire. Also, the maximum length spools are usually 250' or 500'. Lesser quality and 2-conductor thermostat wire can be found in 1000' lengths.

Post your program (right click on the program name, select Copy to Clipboard).

Older (the original) Insteon devices behaved as you stated. It didn't matter if the device was on of off when the link was created. The link was simply an agreement between two devices to talk to each other. If you wanted a device to turn off in response to an On signal, you would have to set the On-level to 0% or 1%--after creating the link. Setting a level of Off was not possible, it had to be set to a specific On-level. It was also not possible at all to turn off a relay (On/Off) device with an On signal. Later, Insteon add the ability to completely turn off a device by sending an On signal. The result was that if you created the link when the device was off, each time you sent an On signal the device would turn off. Thus, the QSG instruction to turn the device on prior to linking. If the responder was a dimmer, then it would turn on at the level it was set to at the time the link was created. The ISY doesn't care if the device is on or off when it's added. If you're concerned, then you can turn the LampLinc On prior to linking. That can be determined using the LED. But there is no need to have anything plugged into the LampLinc.

The Hub does require a cloud service to create scenes. Manually created scenes are not recognized by the Hub. I don't know about Wemo and Hue. Amazon is not requiring anything from UDI that they don't require from any device using the Echo. It's the Echo that requires a cloud service, even for the Insteon Hub (i.e., Connected Home).
-
That's because, when linking manually (or using an Insteon Hub), it's possible to link in the off state. If you do that, the LampLinc will turn off in response to both an On or an Off signal. That's not a concern with the ISY (nor the now discontinued HouseLinc). I suggested not having a load plugged in because, on occasion, the load may hinder linking and you're having some difficulty.

Amazon, Home Depot & Lowes come to mind as easy to deal with and speedy, no questions asked in case of a problem. All three have thermostat wire in various gauges and lengths.
-
Once you register and install the portal, you'll be provided with a URL that you can use from anywhere to log into the ISY.
-
There are hundreds thousands of locations to buy thermostat wire. Do you need/want an on-line source or local walk in location? If local, what city are you near?
-
Being physically closer to the panel is meaningless. More important is how the wiring is routed (unseen, behind walls) and what else is on the same circuit as the LampLinc. Also, nothing should be plugged into the the LamplInc (on or off) when trying to add it to the ISY.

Cannot get Echo (Izzy) to control anything that begins with "computer." None of computer, computer room, computer light, computer lights, nor computer fans works. Alexa hears the word, "computer" but cannot find the device.
-
After purchasing the portal you should have gotten an email to register it. It needs to know which ISY to access.
-
Which ISY firmware and UI? (Help > About) Do you have anything plugged into the LampLinc? Yes, the 2406H phase coupler will bridge both Insteon (131.65 kHz) and X10 (120 kHz) power line signals.
-
Gary, Have you installed to portal successfully? Have you enable the ISY skill?
-
If you ask Alexa to turn up the volume, Alexa will correctly turn up the Echo's volume. Instead, ask Alexa to tell Izzy to turn up the volume.

On-line manuals/instructions for all shipping Insteon devices can be found from the sales page for that device Soldering instructions are not included

Using a 2nd tap (not a double tap) on a SwitchLinc dimmer that is at a preset On-level will only bring the load connect to the load wire fully on. A 2nd tap on a secondary SwitchLinc dimmer (the one without a wired load) will have no effect on the primary device's load (the load wired to the device). I've not found a program that will accomplish that consistently. If you have one, please post it. Program Requirements: Virtual 3-way configuration involving two (or more) dimmers, both set to turn on the load to a % less that full on. The load is on at any level above 0% and less that 100%. The secondary device is tapped On (once). The load goes to full on (100%). The primary device already has that ability. The secondary device does not. Added ability: Can be accomplished using the current Official Version 4+

No problem using kitchen alone. "Alexa, ask Izzy to turn the kitchen on/off" works well. OTOH, "Alexa, ask Izzy to turn/set toe kitchen to 20%/50%," or any other % always results with. "Kitchen is set to 70%." 70% is the preset On-level.

Absolutely yes. Four rooms and three "areas" still awaiting testing. I'm not looking to control every device, just the "daily use" ones. BTW, not sure if I mentioned it but "sconces" is not accepted.
