KeypadLinc how to 'see' button presses
Scenes cannot be used as triggers because scenes can have multiple controllers and/or responders. What if a scene turns the device off? Does turning the button off again trigger the scene or does turning it on trigger the scene which intent is to turn the button off? So, use a device to trigger the scene. If Control/Status 'button B' is ... Control requires the the button be pressed manually. Each time the button pressed, On or Off, your choice, the scene will be triggered. If another scene turns the button on (or off). the program will not be triggered. Status will trigger the program is the state of the button chances no matter what changed the state. If the same command occurs, such as pressing on twice, nothing will happen. The state has to change for the program to trigger. Edit: term corrected

On levels (applied locally) changed to zero
v9e is indeed an older PLM and subject to fail. By older, I mean any PLM more than 2 years old. The back of the PLM has a 4 digit number on a white label. What is that number?

SignaLinc Phase coupler working?
To test if the SignaLincs have achieved bridging, hold the set button on one SignaLinc for 10 or more seconds. When you release the set button, the LED will bling rapidly, about 4 times a second. Observe the second SignaLinc. If it's blinking 4 times a second, then the opposite legs of the split, single-phase electric supply are bridged. A slow blink, about 2 times per second indicates that the SignaLincs are not on opposite legs and if the second SignaLinc is not blinking at all, then the two SignaLincs are not communicating. The SignaLincs only bridge the opposite legs for Insteon powerline signals. They do not repeat powerline signals, nor do they respond to Insteon RF signals.

Setting up a used ISY994i
Fire up the ISY first (if you can) to determine if any modules are installed. If not, then factory reset both the PLM and the ISY. If there are modules installed, then contact UDI about keeping/updating them.

Wireless thermostat 2441ZTH
IIRC, you can change the display to the external probe, but the ISY recognizes only the internal sensor. You'll need to disable the internal sensor by soldering the probe's wires in place of the internal sensor.

Looking for Zwave advice
Zigbee is available as a separate module, so it can't be soldered in.

Benoit, What took you so quick

I'd measure the voltages as I suggested.

Amazon Echo Device Name
Did you add the second spoken to a device or scene? I do see that you mentioned a device, just making sure. Do you not have access from the portal or the Admin Console? Or do you mean the Alexa app?
-
Amazon Echo Device Name
I see that now. Even if the additional spoken is removed, the portal lists the primary spoken in the name column. And the Alexa app lists the scenes with the new spokens, not the scene names. But, that's correct as far as the Alexa app goes. BTW, removing the additional spoken in the portal does not restore the scene name, Deleting the scene and adding it back fixes that.

Amazon Echo Device Name
What in particular gets screwy? I don't have any difficulty adding spokens for devices, scenes or programs. Nothing gets screwy.

Alexa quirks and fun
Yes, I have a group the turns on the music and adjusts the lighting. The music is controlled by a Harmony Hub. Add both the scene and the device to a group. Then you can ask Alexa to set the group_name to any level. You don't even need to say "percent." just the number

Amazon Echo Device Name
Didn't happen here. I added "kitchen" to the scene already named "kitchen light," Shut down the portal, discovered devices in the Alexa app, tested using both "kitchen light" and "kitchen." Both worked. Logged back into the portal, both spokens were still there. BTW, spokens added to the ISY directly are ignored by the portal.

Iolinc to run hvac booster fan
I'm not sure what "balanced the controller" means. At the HVAC control panel, measure the voltage between the G terminal and the C terminal with heating/cooling on and off. What are the results. The voltage is low voltage (<30V) AC.

Whole house audio w/ Echo?
I use one of the the RCA inputs on my preamp. (A preamp is the middle part of an input device such as a tuner or phono or cd player and an amplifier. It's one-third of a receiver) I don't know which Yamaha receiver you have, so don't know your options?
-
Whole house audio w/ Echo?
What do you intend to connect the Bluetooth receiver to on the Yamaha receiver?
-
Whole house audio w/ Echo?
Plug the device into a different input and select that input. I'm using the same receiver for our smartphones.

diggler, are you concerned about heat only or both heat and cooling?

I've created a monster
Amazon does send an email for any and every purchase with an opportunity to cancel the order. Of course, if you don't check you email regularly--then you shouldn't have voice ordering turned on 24/7. It's easy to turn the service on and off.

5.XX Password Requirement
I have no way of knowing if it's true, but Dashlane claims that they have no access to your passwords. I do know that files on my hard drive update when I add or make changes.

Samsung is bringing an Echo-compatible vacuum to CES
Hey Teken, I have six areas for your relaxation and enjoyment

Why sub accounts for multiple echos?
That's correct. If the Echos are on the same account, then they'll have access to the same portal library. And even if the two Echos are within earshot of each other, only the one that hears the command first will respond. Prior to the 2nd generation Dots, each Echo would respond--with an echo (delay). Although the software was introduced with the Dots, all Echos have that feature, even older ones have been updated.

Thermostat reporting decimal places? Ugly card?
Also, what Alexa reports hearing is determined by Amazon, not UDI.

Compare that with paying someone to vacuum for you. I'd rather be free of the time it takes to vacuum or mop. I have more fun things to do
