Symptoms of a failing PLM?
Is it a difficult painful process to switch out the plm? I do have a spare serial plm which I bought off a friend and am waiting for the US plm I bought.

Symptoms of a failing PLM?
The only thing I recently added was 3 switchbot temp sensors and 3 thirdreality shock zigbee sensors to Home assistant. Is it just wired devices I would worry about causing noise? I have 45 to 50 insteon devices in use. Thanks

Symptoms of a failing PLM?
Ok ill try that thanks. Does this seem like a signal noise issue or plm failing?

Symptoms of a failing PLM?
I have a Polisy firmware 5.9.1 with a serial PLM, many dimmers, I/O lincs, plugs, door sensors, motion sensors and water sensors. (probably left out some). I have have had the same PLM for maybe 13 or 14 years without issue. The past week I have noticed some programs not running and some lag with turning lights on and off. I submitted a ticket and Michel was very helpful (as always), he first asked if I had any 10011 icons on any of my devices which I did have. I cleared those and still had the issue. He advised to move the PLM to a different plug that was not shared with anything else, which I did but still have the issue. Doing some tests I noticed that sometimes I can turn on and off the lights with UDmobile a few times in a row with no issue then it stops and takes a bit of time to react or in a few seconds I try again and it works. Usually when this happens, I go into admin console and a popup it says it cant communicate with a particular device but its never the light I was messing with (seems random of which device it shows). Has an exclamation mark beside it which clears when I manually turn on that light. Another thing I noticed is UDmobile or admin console always shows the correct status of a device that I have manually turned on or off no matter how many times or how fast I do it. From the way it seems to me is the PLM has no issue receiving but has issues sending the commands to the devices (or I just dont understand how the PLM works). I read somewhere on this forum that i should click on "Show PLM link table" and if I see zero or no count then the PLM is bad. Ive done this test 4 times, first test showed 170 second was 293, third was 292 and when I did the fourth just now it ended then popped up showing "Cannot communicate with computer room light" and now has an exclamation mark beside it (which is a dimmer and was off at the time). My count on the forth is 292 I did order a new USB PLM just incase but from what I have told you, do you guys think that my PLM is finally failing? Thanks in advance!

ISY not found and opening Iced Tea ever since upgrading to windows 11
Isy finder cant find the ISY and when I try to open it it opens in iced Tea. If I open with JAVA web launcher the same thing. I can access the ISY through the portal.

For those having disconnects where you have to unplug and plug back in
I have suffered from this problem from day one where a couple of my light strips disconnect in the app and ISY and where you cant even turn them on or off with the button. The only way I could get this to work is unplug them then plug them back in. I did some searching on this and found someone who found a fix so I thought I would share this. Basically, you block WAN access to the devices and control them over an API. If you are ONLY using the KASA app, and not another controller such as HomeAssistant, SmartThings, Hubitat or whatever, this ISN'T going to work for you. Anyways, here's the steps to complete it for a user that may not be super savvy. 1. Login to your router and check the DHCP scope. It'll probably be 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.199 or something. Basically you want to ensure there's at least a good handful of IPs in the subnet (which is 1-255) that ARE NOT in the scope. Remember what they are. 2. Go to your DHCP leases table (or something like that), note down the IP addresses and MACs of the KL400's you're using. 3. Probably somewhere in the DHCP settings, you'll have somewhere you can "reserve an IP address by MAC". You want to then set all your KL400's to one of the IPs NOT in your DHCP scope (ideally). I'd keep them all together, such as .210, .211, .212, etc.. 4. Probably under firewall, or security, or something like that, you'll be able to "block" WAN (or Internet) access to those devices. 5. Done. The app appears to be causing a problem. After blocking internet access to each light strip I have not had a single disconnect! The lights still function with ISY and HA as well as the Kasa app.

Installed Home assistant now having ISY issue with Keypad
Thank you so much, very helpful info which i never fully understood. Today I will check my programs to make sure it's set properly and see if that fixes the problem.

Installed Home assistant now having ISY issue with Keypad
I dont have any automations setup yet on HA. 1. nothing corrupted that i could see 2. manually turning on the scene works Im running HA on my Synology NAS. Ok so here is what I see happening. I will use another example. My fountain is connected to the same key pad as the light but a different button. Both are set as controllers. I have a program that in the morning, turns on the fountain (set to turn on the fountain not the scene) a few days ago this was working fine and the keypad light came on when the fountain was running. Now when the program runs the keypad button does not light. When I turn on the fountain with admin console or UD mobile, the fountain turns on but not the keypad. If I turn the scene on then both come on. If a device and keypad are both controllers in a scene: 1. Should both turn on when manually clicking the on button of the device? 2. Should both come on when a program just tells the device to turn on? 3. Should both turn on when turning the device on with UD mobile or admin console? Also I tried deleting the scene with the light and re adding them and doing a restore on the light and the keypad and same thing. By the way, both the fountain and light are running off an insteon outdoor on off module. One thing I noticed for sure that changed when installing HA is when I added my ecobee thermostat, it changed my setting from "cool" to "heat and cool" and set my cool temp to 24c when I previously had it set to 22c. Thanks

Installed Home assistant now having ISY issue with Keypad
I have a 8 button keypad that was working fine, when my outside light came on the keypad would light up. Have both set as controllers. After installing Home and added the ISY, the keypad wont light up when the light is on. I do have a different keypad that is still working fine for a different light. Any ideas? Thanks

Is there a free weather node server?
Thanks guys

Is there a free weather node server?
Just wondering if there is a node server that adds local weather info to the ISY? I dont mean that the node server itself is free but a free weather service. Thanks

Blinking lights, endless loop
I did the restore, deleted the scene, created a new one and made both controllers. So far its good. Thank you.

Blinking lights, endless loop
I have an Insteon outdoor module controlling an outside light. I have a 8 button keypad with button B that also controls the light. I have both in a scene (ive tried the light as a controller and responder). Sometimes when I turn on the light on and off, the outside light blinks on and off repeatedly in an endless loop. I have to go into admin console and disable the keypad to get it to shut off. Sometimes it works fine. Am I doing something wrong with my setup? Thanks
