Hi, I do a big Halloween event in my yard. I have multiple strobe lights, fog machines, things flying around the yard (etc). Part of what I was doing with Homeseer that I would like to do with the ISY is: If motion sensor A or motion sensor B goes off (and the guest room light is off - this is so I can turn the light in the guest room on & stop the script if need be). Then: Turn Porch light to 25% Turn Porch light 2 to 25% Turn front light to 25% Turn Appliance linc 1 on Turn Appliance linc 2 on Turn Appliance linc 3 on All for 2 minutes Then Turn Porch light to 100% Turn Porch light 2 to 100% Turn front light to 100% Turn Appliance linc 1 off Turn Appliance linc 2 off Turn Appliance linc 3 off However, I dont want this to be reactivated even if motion is sensed before 5 minutes after it finishes. So, how can I do all that? Thanks, Rich

Michel, I had changed the script to your recommendation: If Status 'Door: Basement Door Open' is On Then Repeat Every 2 minutes and 30 seconds Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This seems very basic in terms of what we are stating it should do. For some reason it seems to randomly trigger. I wouldnt care about one random message. The issue I have is that the ISY says the status is off, yet the program is still running. How is it possible if the ISY gets a "on" command but the ISY sees the status is off, then how should the program be running? Is there a way to make the ISY "refresh" its status? It seems to me that the ISY says "I have been triggered" & because the status doesnt ever actually change, it doesnt think to go look to see if the status has changed. Any ideas on what else I can do? I have swapped the device out & the old device in a different location is working fine with no accidental triggers. The only common item for the basement program is I am using the same DS10A wire leads. I guess I can swap those out too but theres not really much to those things. Thanks, Rich

Michel, I did change the program to status instead of control as you mentioned. Right now, the status is closed if i look on the ISY yet the program is running. I agree that 2.5 minutes is not the right time, but I cant figure why this keeps triggering. It seems once it starts, it doesnt stop. I know if I walk down & open & shut the door it will turn off. Any ideas why the ISY status is closed but the program is still running? Thanks, Rich If Status 'Door: Basement Door Open' is On And Status 'Door: Basement Door Open' is not Off Then Repeat Every 2 minutes and 30 seconds Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Hi, I have a pretty simple program that sends an email when the door is opened. For some reason, at random, the ISY triggers my basement program. The ISY says the status for the device is on. If you look at the ISY, the ISY says the device is off, but the program just keeps running for no apparent reason. While I was away on vaction, I started getting emails that the basement door was opened. I turned on the lights, logged into the cameras & I know the door was not opened. I also can see the ISY says the door is closed yet the program just keeps running & sending the recurring emails. I thought this was a triggerlinc issue & I swapped out a triggerlinc with a new one I bought. What could it be that is doing it with two different triggerlincs with the same program. BTW, none of my other triggerlinc programs do this, just the basement. Thanks, Rich If Control 'Door: Basement Door Open' is switched On And Control 'Door: Basement Door Open' is not switched Off Then Repeat Every 2 minutes and 30 seconds Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Michel, Do you know how i could 'cancel' the action by closing the door? Meaning, if I shut the door the lights go out (say its me checking on my son)? It might make more sense as is in case he shuts the door behind him (not likely though). Thanks, Rich

Hi, My son (2.5 year old) will sometimes wake up in the middle of the night & wander in the dark to our room for mommy. I want to make sure he does this a little safer as he has walked out & walked into a door or railing. I came up with this but I am not sure it will work properly. I would like it that if the door is opened after 12am, that the 3 lights come on at 20% light for 1 minute, then shut off. I would also like it so that if we happen to look in on him after 12am, that if we shut the door, it will turn itself off earlier. How does this look: If From 12:00:00AM To 6:25:00AM (same day) And Control 'Door: Steven Room Open' is switched On Then Set 'Upstairs: Hallway' 20% Set 'Bedroom: Steven Light' 20% Set 'Bedroom: MBR Light' 20% Wait 1 minute Set 'Upstairs: Hallway' Off Set 'Bedroom: Steven Light' Off Set 'Bedroom: MBR Light' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks, Rich

Hi, I just finished two scripts. I am hoping for some feedback. I am looking to make it so when my front door motion sensor goes off, it will make the Entry light (KPL) turn on for 5 minutes, then shut itself off. If the Front porch light, or the Entry KPL light is on, it should do nothing. Any ideas on how to make this more streamlined? Thanks, Rich Front Door Timeout: If Time is Last Run Time for 'Front Door Motion' + 5 minutes And Status 'Upstairs: Entry KPL' is On Then Wait 5 seconds Set 'Upstairs: Entry KPL' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Front Door Motion: If Control 'Motion: Front Door Motion' is switched On And Status 'Outside: Front Porch' is Off And Status 'Upstairs: Entry KPL' is Off Then Set 'Upstairs: Entry KPL' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Hrmmm, something isnt right...

Hi, I was curious about how you would use the triggerlinc multiscene mode in a real world example. I am not quite getting it. The example on the SH wiki says: So when the door is open the lights on scene comes on, when the door is closed the lights goto 25% scene comes on. Is that I am so used to ISY programs, it isnt making logical sense to me? Door open = program 1, door closed = program 2? Is there a better example of the multiscene mode? Thanks, Rich

Tim, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I swapped my program this: If From 8:44:00AM To 8:49:00AM (same day) Then In Scene 'Dining Room: Light' Set 'Dining Room: Light' 50% (On Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') What happens is that at 8:44, it does change the written on level to 50% in the ISY. Unfortunately on the local switch it still goes 100% on. If I click "on" in the ISY, the light does only go on to 50%. One thing I dont understand logically (I would like to know) is why did I make a new scene called Dining Room Ramp & add the dining room device to it? I dont seem to be using it. Thanks, Rich

While my wife thinks I am a little OCD..... Anyway, I am playing with some new ideas that I saw while looking at Darrel's scripting. The Slow Dim to off idea. I added a new scene called Scene: Bathroom Motion Ramp. The only item in this scene is the bathroom light & the ramp rate is 60 seconds. The idea being when the light goes out it takes 60 seconds & if someone moves, the lights go back on. This is good but while the lights do dim, when there is motion, they go back up at the same slow speed (which i guess is OK but I dont understand why it does this). Here is my current attempt at a program: If Time is Last Run Time for 'Bathroom Motion ' + 1 minute And Status 'Bathroom: Guest Light' is On Then Set Scene 'Scene: Bathroom Motion Ramp P' Off Wait 5 seconds Set 'Bathroom: Guest Light' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I had to add that extra "Wait & "Set Off" as I think that when just the scene turned off the lights, the ISY didnt register the bathroom light as off, even though the scene turned it off. All my other scripts for the bathroom are the same as well. I may add a triggerlinc into the mix at some point too. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks, Rich

Tim, I had a question, I am using this program for testing (from your own example); If From 10:28:00PM To 10:30:00PM (same day) Then In Scene 'Dining Room Ramp Rate Scene' Set 'Dining Room: Light' 50% (On Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') My dining room light is the only device in the scene & it is a controller. When 10:28 comes & I run the scene in the ISY, it does work as expected, but if I goto the switch locally, it does not work that way. Any ideas why it works in the ISY but not locally? I did not airgap the switch as I am hoping I wont need to (as it sort of sounds that way in your response). Thanks, Rich

Mike, It does work as you said it would. Out of curiousity, if I already have a scene & I want to add a controller to a device that is already a responder, how can I change that device so that its a controller? Right now, I remove & readd the device to the scene. Is there an easier way? Thanks, Rich
-
Mike, I am using firmware 2.76. My issue was it was not giving me an option of the Triggerlinc being the controller, only the responder (which was strange). It all works as expected though. Thanks, Rich

Hi, I set a new scene called Garage Light. I wanted to make the basement triggerlinc the controller & the Garage Light the responder. I tried to do that in the ISY by putting hte triggerlinc into linking mode, then creating the scene & trying to add the triggerlinc as the controller (it wasnt a clickable option). I then decided to do it manually (by holding the garage light set button). It now works & I cant get over how fast the response time is. My question is, how can I make the ISY see this new scene that i created outside of the ISY? Thanks, Rich

I am confused too. When the second part is removed it wont turn off.

Hi, I am using my own ISP's outgoing SMTP server on my ISY. I have (right now) 3 doors that are monitored using triggerlincs. I have 3 semi identical programs (one for each door). Here is an example door open: If Control 'Door: Front Door Open' is switched On And Control 'Door: Front Door Open' is not switched Off Then Repeat Every 2 minutes Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Door Closed If Control 'Door: Front Door Open' is switched Off Then Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I know you guys have seen me working through this (or you guys being nice enough to write this for me is more accurate). My expectation, is that if any of the three doors are opened, that emails should be sent. I just had all three doors open & all three program status's say they are running then , however, I am not getting consistant emails. Sometimes I get this message: Basement Door Open A Schedule was met at 8/11/2009 23:15:20. ---------------------------------------- At: 8/11/2009 23:15:20 Program: Basement Door Open Other times it says: Basement Door Open 'Door: Basement Door Open (11 22 1F 1)' set On at 8/11/2009 22:00:13. ---------------------------------------- At: 8/11/2009 22:00:13 Program: Basement Door Open Device: Door: Basement Door Open (11 22 1F 1) Action: On I am a little confused. My goal is that when a door is open, i get an email saying which door is opened (easy since my programs are similar names) & that should be repeated every 5 minutes (though its set for 2 minutes now while I am testing). Any idea why this isnt working as I would like? With homeseer I have this setup for 6 doors in my home & they have no problem running all at the same time so I dont think its an email limit issue. When each door is open, the program says its running, but i cant help feel its something I did that is causing this issue. Thanks, Rich

Hi, I am using Homeseer to do periodic reboots & shutdowns on my system. I use this command to restart my homeseer server: c:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f -t 01 I use this to shutdown: c:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 01 Can the ISY send this signal out itself? It would be very helpful to me. The WOL works perfect even from a complete shutdown. I was curious if I can use some sort of network signal to shut & restart an XP PC on my network? Thanks, Rich

Do you guys think this is worthwhile strictly for voice announcements? I really see the benefit of one of these guys in my bedroom who could say the garage door is open if its open after 10pm. I can see some other benefits as well, but how bad is the lag on the rabbits?
-
Michel, Is there any type of trial, or screen shots of hte networking module? I think it would be worthwhile, but I would like to try it. Please let me know that is an option. I would like to try the WOL & Tivo to see how that would work for my needs. Thanks, Rich

Just to reiterate, closing the door doesnt seem to make "door open" turn false.

Hi, I am having some issues with the use of repeat & I think I might have a basic flaw in how I use Repeat. Example 1: my good night button (MBR KPL A button) turns on my "Good Night" scene, I tend to hit it two to three times to ensure all my lights go out as sometimes I get lights that dont go out. How would I go about using repeat in that? Example 2: The other item I have is a program with the use of repeat. I would like to put a repeat before putting the 4 other items on. Does repeat go before the item or after the item? If Control 'Laundry: KPL D' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Scene: Good Night' Off Set 'Attic: Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: MBR Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Guest Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Steven Fan' Off Set 'Bathroom: Guest Fan' Off Wait 3 seconds Set 'Living Room: Control NL' On Set 'Living Room: Couch' On Set 'Living Room: TV' On Set 'Living Room: Table' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks, Rich

Hi, I have these two setup now: Door Open If Control 'Door: Basement Door Open' is switched On Then Set 'Garage: Light' On Repeat Every 2 minutes Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Door Closed If Control 'Door: Basement Door Open' is switched Off Then Set 'Garage: Light' Off Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Now, I have the notifications still running. If i look in my program list, I have: Door closed is Idle Door Open is "running then" What am I doing wrong? It wont stop sending updates as the program wont go false. Thanks, Rich

Hi, I was doing some reading on the chumby & the Nabaztag (net rabbit). I love the idea of the ISY using a 3rd party app to do voice announcements. That is a great idea & another step closer to having Homeseer functionality on the ISY. While I think the Rabbit is neat & it works, the price tag is quite a bit considering all I want is voice announcements. I also think it looks a little foofoo. So I started to think, I have a photo frame that plays MP3's & AVI/Mpegs aside from the jpgs. I did a little looking online & there are now (new to me) frames that do all this & can accept uploads via wifi. Since it sounds like the photo frame is more or less a webserver (like the Rabbit) I wonder if its a stretch to get it working with the ISY. I think the WAF factor would be higher if I could have a photo frame displaying photos & have the "garage door open" announcment if its after 10pm, or the "fridge is open" announcement if the fridge was left open. Any thoughts on how hard this would be? Any directions to look? Thanks, Rich

If Control 'Door: Basement Door Open' is switched On Then Set 'Garage: Light' On Send Notification to All Repeat Every 2 minutes Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') That should send notifications every 2 minutes? That seems not to be working. I am still getting only 1 notification. Thanks, Rich

Michel, I was able to configure my router & my cell phone to send the signal to have the router wake my server. How could this be done using the ISY ? In the program options on hte ISY, I dont really see anything that looks like it would help do the WOL command? How can I make the ISY speak to other network devices (non insteon)? Thanks, Rich
