  1. Hi, I was curious what i could do with the new ISY & Zigbee? I am looking to keep my ISY in the basement, would the zigbee devices work properly at a distance? I know the dual band ISY makes the powerline or RF options for good communications. Does the Zigbee work the same way or is it network based? What cool Zigbee things are out there that work with the ISY? Thanks, Rich
  2. What is the breakout expander & rain sensor? Is that part of the EZFlora or part of the ISY? I like the idea of using the ISY to handle the sprinklers.
  3. Hi, I just moved to a new home & this one has a sprinkler system with 4 zones. The controller/timer is dead & needs to be replaced. I was thinking of getting an ISY based controler - EZFlora. I was curious, is it any good, is it worth it or should I get something else? Thanks, Rich
  4. Hi, So i added buttons C & D as mutual exclusive. I tried to put the main KPL in that group but it didnt seem to take. Whats happening now, is: Button C does 25%, button D does 50%. If I hit C, then off, then turn the main KPL on, the main KPL comes on at 25%, if I double tap the main KPL it goes to 100. If I hit D, then off, then turn the main KPL on, the main KPL comes on at 50%, if I double tap the main KPL it goes to 100. Ultimately whatever button I last press, the main KPL defaults to that same % & not 100%, unless I double tap, turn it off, then when I turn it on, it remembers being 100%. How do I set it so that the main KPL defaults to 100% after pressing buttons C or D? Thanks, Rich
  5. Is there a guide or wiki that explains how to setup the mutually exclusive buttons?
  6. Thanks for getting back to me. I changed things up as Button A doesnt seem to light up or work reliably. Button B will control the fan in a separate scene. Button C will be 25% button D will be 50% How do I set it so that when I press the main KPL Off button, how do I make it so that C & D will be sent an off command too? Right now, if I hit C, it goes to 25% but if i hit off, C is still lit? Thanks, Rich
  7. Hi, It is a 6 button KPL. How would I set it up? THanks, Rich
  8. Hi, I am looking to have the ISY make a scene (not a program), so that my keylinc in the bathroom does the following: Bathroom KPL button A = Bathroom KPL light at 75%, Button B makes light 50%, Button C does 25%. Is there a way to do it as a scene vs a program? I am not having luck & I am going to be moving & leaving the Insteon but I want to take the ISY to my next house so I am getting rid of my programs in favor of scenes. Thanks, Rich
  9. Lee, I am pretty sure that when my first keylinc broke, that ISY tech support logged in to help me swap my keypadlinc over using the replace command. It was done so I wouldnt have to reenter all my scene / program data. The firmware & UI are the same numbers. This switch has been in for about 1.5 to 2 years & it was probably with the latest (at that time) firmware. Thanks, Rich
  10. Hi, The compare showed as identical. Firmware of ISY is 3.1.15. I dont have any scene adjustments on this Keylinc. This is a 6 button KPL. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks, Rich
  11. Thanks, that is it. I cant figure how a keylink pad would have a non - responsive "D" button that lights up when touched but doesnt report to the ISY. All other buttons do. That keypad was changed out to another & this one has the same exact problem - with the same exact button. WTH is that about?
  12. Hi, In the past I had an issue with a Insteon Keylinc pad "D" button not working. Basically I would hit D & nothing would happen. I called ISY support, they had me put it the ISY into some sort of better logging mode so we could check if the D was registering on the network. It turned out that it wasnt & thats why the scene wasnt launching itself. I called Insteon & had the switch replaced. Now (2 years later) I am having the same problem with the same switch. I was hoping to get some help figuring out how to put it into that diagnostic logging mode to see if that D command is being registered. Any ideas on how to do that before I call Insteon for another replacement? Thanks, Rich
  13. Hi, So I just installed a replacement (warranty) keylinc & this new one beeps with each keypress.... Um, how do I turn that off? I dont see anything in the 1 sheet paperwork that comes with it. Did I do something wrong? THanks, Rich
  14. I am looking for it to run for 10 minutes every hour. I think its doing that though I may change it to 8 minutes as its getting pretty wet back there.
  15. Does that mean if I did a repeat of 12 times, that would do what I am looking for?
  16. Hi, I have some new grass & a spinkler controller. When the unit is powered the valve opens & the water comes out. When the power goes off the valvue closes & the water stops. I have a section of my yard I want to water & it is connected to the appliance link. So, how would I make the unit power on every 60 minutes, only stay on for 10 minutes, then shut off until the next 60 minute period happens. I would want to do this from say, 7am until 8pm. If Time is 7:00:00AM Then Repeat 11 times Set 'Outside: Sprinkler' On Wait 10 minutes Set 'Outside: Sprinkler' Fast Off Wait 1 hour Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks, Rich
  17. Hi, I am trying to sign up but I am not getting any confirmation emails. Is there another place to download the beta? THanks, Rich
  18. Take a look here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=2482 I would also look at the whole section. If you were using a MXF-350 or something like it, you can use standard wiring to send the signal with the RF extender.
  19. Hi, I am using a Universal Remote (MX-850) with a MXF-350 repeater. I have teh ISY plugged into my wall & I have cat5 in the same area upstairs by my TV. The remote sends an RF signal which the MXF-350 can hear from some distance & translates that into an IR signal. That signal runs a program on the ISY. Its a sweet setup & the UD folks make an excellent product. My wife loves it! Theres an IR section & I am by no means an expert (Mike B is excellent at it though). Feel free to ask any questions & I will be happy to help as much as I can. Thanks, Rich
  20. Hi, I am really really loving the IR functionality with my universal remote & the ISY. It is really fun, the WAF factor is off the charts. I was curious about using scenes in some programs. I am considering making some ISY only scenes that would only get triggered by IR. I am a little concerned about adding devices to to many scenes and what might cause issues. I have 14 scenes right now, some are basic (family room scene - 3 items), some are larger (goodnight scene, every device), etc. In my living room scene, i have a 2 way switch (Family room main, family room no load) that are in a scene, then I have 1 other switch. I currently have this program: If IR 'Downstairs' is Pressed And Status 'Family Room: Main' is Off Then Set Scene 'Scene: Family Room' Fast On Set Scene 'Scene: Garage Controls' Fast On Set Scene 'Scene: Laundry Room' Fast On Set 'Office: Light' On Set 'Office: Bathroom' Fast On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Am I better off, adding all the items of the "then" into a new scene, with no controller (as the IR is the catalyst)? When I run the scene it is a little slow as it does one item at a time (expected). I have a number of other IR buttons I am working on as well. Should I make all these groups of items scenes? Am I making things over complicated? Thanks, Rich
  21. Hi, I am a little confused on how to view the log file. It opens in Excel & when I pull the drop downs, I dont get exactly what I am supposed to see, but I see nothing. Is there an easy way to view it? Thanks, Rich
  22. Unfortunately, no it is still doing it. Is actually happening right now. Door: Basement Door Open is currently "off" however the script is running a "then". Now one thing to keep in mind is that I have multiple triggerlincs in my house all running a copy of this script (though they are named slightly different), none of hte other triggerlincs have this issue. I believe the false running has to do with a faulty magnetic reed switch which i borrowed from an X10 DS10a. If I swap out the triggerlincs I get similar behavior. At some point when I am not so lazy I will swap out the switch & see how it goes. THe only question I have is if the ISY sees that the door is "off" why is it running the program still. I can only guess that because the status doesnt change, the ISY isnt checking to see if the status is off, its just checking for a change. Thanks for asking & any suggestions are welcome. THanks, Rich
  23. Hi, I have two programs for exiting my house (one in the basement, one at the front door): Basement (which works fine) If Control 'Laundry: KPL D' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Scene: Good Night' Off Set 'Attic: Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: MBR Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Guest Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Steven Fan' Off Set 'Bathroom: Guest Fan' Off Wait 3 seconds Set 'Living Room: Control NL' On Set 'Living Room: Couch' On Set 'Living Room: TV' On Set 'Living Room: Table' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') My front door script for some reason doesnt work on the "D" button, so I added the "A" . Any ideas why it wouldnt work? On both KPLs the "D" buttons are toggled off. If Control 'Upstairs: Entry KPL D' is switched Off Or Control 'Upstairs: Entry KPL A' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Scene: Good Night' Off Set 'Attic: Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: MBR Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Guest Fan' Off Set 'Bedroom: Steven Fan' Off Set 'Bathroom: Guest Fan' Off Wait 3 seconds Set 'Living Room: Control NL' On Set 'Living Room: Couch' On Set 'Living Room: TV' On Set 'Living Room: Table' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  24. Hi, I do a big Halloween event in my yard. I have multiple strobe lights, fog machines, things flying around the yard (etc). Part of what I was doing with Homeseer that I would like to do with the ISY is: If motion sensor A or motion sensor B goes off (and the guest room light is off - this is so I can turn the light in the guest room on & stop the script if need be). Then: Turn Porch light to 25% Turn Porch light 2 to 25% Turn front light to 25% Turn Appliance linc 1 on Turn Appliance linc 2 on Turn Appliance linc 3 on All for 2 minutes Then Turn Porch light to 100% Turn Porch light 2 to 100% Turn front light to 100% Turn Appliance linc 1 off Turn Appliance linc 2 off Turn Appliance linc 3 off However, I dont want this to be reactivated even if motion is sensed before 5 minutes after it finishes. So, how can I do all that? Thanks, Rich
  25. Michel, I had changed the script to your recommendation: If Status 'Door: Basement Door Open' is On Then Repeat Every 2 minutes and 30 seconds Send Notification to All Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This seems very basic in terms of what we are stating it should do. For some reason it seems to randomly trigger. I wouldnt care about one random message. The issue I have is that the ISY says the status is off, yet the program is still running. How is it possible if the ISY gets a "on" command but the ISY sees the status is off, then how should the program be running? Is there a way to make the ISY "refresh" its status? It seems to me that the ISY says "I have been triggered" & because the status doesnt ever actually change, it doesnt think to go look to see if the status has changed. Any ideas on what else I can do? I have swapped the device out & the old device in a different location is working fine with no accidental triggers. The only common item for the basement program is I am using the same DS10A wire leads. I guess I can swap those out too but theres not really much to those things. Thanks, Rich
