Understood. BTW I only use Home Assistant as front for ISY, and all my programs / automation remain on ISY, which is way more powerful for automation. You are not alone having an issue with subscriptions, but personally I dont mind the $5/mo for Home Assistant. I purchased the full Mobilinc Pro and X (one payment/ no subscription) and I have made good use out of Mobilinc Pro. As mentioned before, purchasing X was a mistake.

I have the 500 series Zwave card, use 5.3.1 and have Mobilinc Pro as well as Mobilinc X. I have been very disappointed by Mobilinc X and have not used it since a few days after purchasing it. I find Mobilinc Pro far more practical. To answer your question, I just tried both Mobilinc Pro and X. The latter (Mobilinc X) sees all my devices but did not respond to ON / OFF. Mobilinc Pro works. HOWEVER, since about a month I have been using Home Assistant on a RPi and also subscribe to their $5/mo out-of-network access App, and now I hardly use Mobilinc anymore, because Home Assistant and its app are more convenient than Mobilinc.

As I said, everything works fine, but my (small) concern is why the update neighbors does not work. I actually believe that something is wrong with the switch as I had issues with it yesterday. That is why I removed it from my ISY and re-added it. If it gives me new issues, I may just replace it.

Yesterday I had an issue of a Zwave (GE/Jasco ZW+) switch no longer working in a program and I decided to remove and re-add the switch to my ISY. As the switch is located at the the other end of my home (kitchen), I removed it from the box and performed the remove/re-add close to the ISY (I have a special switch box for that purpose that I plug in). After re-adding to my ISY I replaced the switch in the kitchen and everything works fine, including in the original program. However I noticed in (right-click) Zwave-Show information in Event Viewer that the switch is still routing through the Zwave devices close to the ISY rather than those in between the kitchen and the ISY. I tried several times Update Neighbors, but each time this shows failed in the event viewer. As noted above, the switch works fine, but for the principle I wonder why I can not get it to go through the proper route. I may repeat the remove/re-add while keeping the switch in the kitchen, just to satisfy my OCD, but I wonder why the Update Neighbors does not work.

Michel, I like the not YET

I have been told, on the Inovelli forum, that I should upgrade the Inovelli switch firmware. Does ISY 5.3.1 allow for ota firmwate upgrade ?
-
If you have, or are willing to get one, a RPi, then go for Home Assistant. In my experience, it beats Mobilinc, though for access outside of your local network, you have to pay $ 5 / mo for the cloud service. Though I paid for both Mobilinc Pro and X, I now mostly use the Home Assistant App.

@Chris Jahn Did this upgrade address status vs control ?

Installed without any apparent issues.

I have had 2 Mimo-lites for some three years to control automatic curtains and they have never failed me.

Should I move from Insteon to Z-wave

I have several Homeseer 200 series switches, including dimmers, and have had zero issues. -
Z-wave switch status not updating in Admin Console
asbril replied to abrayshaw's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
I am not sure what causes your issues and possibly these may be resolved by the upcoming firmware upgrade. However, in the meantime, try the Zwave "Update Neighbors" to see if that helps. If you allow me, may I kindly suggest that you remove your " Support Constitutional Government " from your signature, This forum thrives by avoiding politics and btw I am sure that we all support constitutional government, -
Z-wave switch status not updating in Admin Console
asbril replied to abrayshaw's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
I wonder whether your switches are not Zwave PLUS. Older (pre Plus) switches, in most if not all cases, do not have status reporting. That was because of a patent that expired in 2016 -
A few weeks ago I installed an Inovelli Red Series ON/OFF switch and last week it suddenly stopped communication with my ISY, though the manual switch controls kept working. After some other not working methods, I did a factory reset of the switch and re-included it in ISY, and it worked again. Just for information. As I have mentioned before, Inovelli is innovative (as their name suggests) but I have more failures with their switches than with GE/Jasco or Homeseer devices. Some time ago I bought a Inovelli motion sensor, but it is not very accurate. So far I have not succeeded to to a factory reset of that sensor and will need to get instructions from the company.

I just make a simple use of the switch, with the dimmer controlling the fan lamp and the second button (at the bottom) working as a trigger in a program to control the various lights on one of our balconies. There is no scene and when I have some time I will check though, in fact, I don't use scenes (other than to create groups for my Mobilinc Pro App).

This sounds like worth opening a ticket to customer support
-
Something is weird as the UUID should populate automatically when everything else is right. What intrigues me is the "Remote ISY" which I have not seen before. Maybe someone else can chime in with an idea.
-
I also have a Iphone XS Max (IOS 14.0.1) and use Mobilinc Pro (so much better than Mobilinc X btw). What I noticed in your picture of the Mobilinc Pro settings, the ********* of the password does not show and in UUID of ISY it shows "Remote ISY" instead of the actual UUID.

You should really open a ticket with UDI
-
@madcodger I am not sure that the tone is deserved. UDI has excellent customer service and they deal with all issues, be it by priority, and as fast as a small (but highly qualified) team can.
-
From experience and from what I have read, the passage from 4.X to 5.X may require special attention. I would first try to go from 4.8 to 5.16 (or even an earlier version) and then to 5.3 . However, if you have issues then send a ticket to UDI. Their support is superb.
-
Others may have better suggestions, but personally, after changing the dongle, I would have done the restore while still on 5.0.16, and then upgrade to 5.3

Hi Michel I did not want to report as a ticket as the bulb works as desired and you have enough on your plate. But now I will report it as a ticket and I will include a picture of the error message. Nothing urgent.
