This is my experience with this bulb after several weeks. Our condo has two entrances and I have a motion sensor at each entrance. These are the programs that I have with the Inovelli bulb : If motion is detected at entrance 1, then the bulb is ON Red for 15 seconds and it is Blue when motion is detected at the other entrance. The bulb goes On White for 30 minutes as part of the wake up program in the morning. It all works exactly as designed. However, every time the bulb is set On, I get error messages in the Administrative Console, which then I have to close each time..... pretty annoying as I keep the AC on all day. This is what I see in the log : Thu 10/15/2020 09:02:57 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=157.0 cmd=0x33.03 SWITCH_COLOR Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:02 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=157.0 cmd=0x33.03 SWITCH_COLOR Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:03 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=157.0 cmd=0x33.03 SWITCH_COLOR Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:04 PM : [ZW-TX-FAILED] enc=Fail uid=157.0 cmd=0x20.01 BASIC Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:06 PM : [n010_tplkasactl] DON 0 Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:07 PM : [ ZW157_1] ERR 1 Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:07 PM : [ ZW157_1] ERR 0 Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:07 PM : [ ZW157_1] ST 0 (uom=51 prec=0) Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:07 PM : [VAR 2 3 ] 0 Thu 10/15/2020 09:03:07 PM : [ ZW157_186] GV4 0 (uom=107 prec=0) As mentioned above, the bulb does exactly what I want it to do and I don't understand where these errors come from.

Looking for differences in V5 vs. V4
asbril replied to lgilsenberg's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
I am not sure that there is one single manual of differences, but they are "yuge" ?..... The major upgrade is the introduction of Polyglot which allows the ISY to interact with numerous devices and services, from your Tesla to your vacuum cleaner. Read up in this forum on Polyglot, nodeservers and Polisy, and you will see all what you will gain with 5.X -
I don't know what your previous setup was but it may have been either a RPi or Polyglot Cloud. You sound somewhat negative, but you should not be . Polisy is a revolution and we are just at its beginning. I expect that there will be hundreds of nodeservers and supposedly eventually the ISY will be moved to Polisy as well. 99 % of the comments that I have seen on Polisy are very positive and you appear to underestimate the Polisy's potential.

5.0.16 should work with the 300 dongle, but it is recommended that you upgrade to the 500 dongle and 5.3 .
-
From what I have read, 5.3 may not work with the 300 dongle. You should order the 500 dongle and replace it inside the ISY. It is not difficult and if I was able to do it, then everybody can do it
-
I have 2 Mimo-lite for my automatic curtains and they work fine with 5.3

I am not sure that an external antenna would be the solution. Zwave is a mesh network and the more (non-battery powered) Zwave devices you have, the better. Depending on the wall in your home, I would suggest to have a Zwave device at least every 15-20 ft.
-
Zwave-Zwave Version : If 4.55 then you have Zwave 300 dongle; if 6.8 then you have 500 dongle

As I mentioned above, I use the Holidays Google nodeserver with its Today node in the IF of several of my programs; IF calendar XYZ is True THEN etc. Other programs have IF calendar XYZ is False THEN etc. An example would be that in a morning routine program the THEN only runs when in the IF the calendar XYZ Today node is False. My question is whether using the variable, as in your example, would be a better method.
-
Maybe others can give you better advise, otherwise file a ticket with UDI. They are very responsive.
-
I suggest that you read this part of the forum. If that still leaves you with issues, then post here again.

I use the Holidays Google nodeserver. When I am going on a trip I add a whole day event in a specific Google calendar and several of my programs have a condition in IF that makes the THEN dependent on the Trip (or not). In fact, I also have a program that randomly turns lights On and Off while I am on a trip.

upgraded to 5.3 (from 5.2) without problems. I assume that control vs status issue will be addressed later.

Let me try to answer your questions as best as I can. - for those that have chosen to add Z Wave devices to their network, was it Price? Availability? or Features? Or put another way... Why did you choose Z Wave over Insteon? I changed from Insteon to Zwave when my PLM stopped working. Now I have more than 70 Zwave devices and no longer any Insteon. Many in this forum are big fans of Insteon and only add Zwave for devices that do not exist with Insteon, such as locks. Zwave is a RF mesh network that works best when you have enough devices to repeat the signals. with my many Zwave devices I never have communications issues. While, as mentioned, many here prefer Insteon over Zwave, I have no regrets. The one manufacturer (Insteon) and the many manufacturers (Zwave) issue has pros & cons for each. There is much more choice with Zwave and new products appear all the time. Even though these manufactuers must all adhere to the Zwave Alliance standards, there are many differences in features and quality with Zwave devices. One thing that sometimes gets me mad is that different manufacturers use different methods of inclusion/exclusion in your hub, although more and more automatic inclusion becomes the trend. With Insteon, not much (or any?) innovation, but the operability is the same for all devices. - I have 2 ISY 994i/IR PRO controllers... do I need to change controllers (to ISY9941 ZW+/IR PRO) or can my controllers be upgraded to handle Z Wave Plus by buying the External Z-Wave PLUS Module (although the description for this module states "Use this module in case you have Zigbee module installed inside your ISY994" which I don't believe I have!) I am pretty sure that you will be able to add the Zwave dongle to your ISY. - As I understand it, Z Wave communications do not use RF or power line signals, that Insteon devices use, so if I add Z Wave devices, to my network, their communications would have to stand on their own... roughly, how many Z Wave devices are required in a home (say 3,000 to 4,000 sq ft) to make a reliable network? As an example, if I only install one Z Wave Plus lock on a back door at the other end of the house from where the controller sits will the communications work? As mentioned above, Zwave is a RF mesh network. For your Zwave lock to work on the other side of your home, you should have several other Zwave devices in between. My guess is at least 4 or 5. Note that battery devices do NOT repeat the signal, so use wall switches or plug in devices. You can buy extenders but I find these a waste of money as they cost about the same as a plugin device that repeats the signal AND can also be used, for instance, to control a lamp. You may get others in this forum with different views, and some are very knowledgeable, using a combination of both Insteon and Zwave. P.S. (1) My best experience has been with devices from Jasco/GE and Homeseer. Inovelli has innovative products and Zooz has good customer service. (2) Polyglot (preferably through the Polisy) gives you additional options, including the use of some Wifi devices.

Sometimes, not being able to read the face of the other, one can understand something different than intended. This seems to be just a misunderstanding. @lilyoyo1is right that 99% of the time people in this forum are just trying to help, and it is something I have taken great advantage of many times. Personally I prefer that people under-estimate my knowledge than the opposite.

?

If you can afford, I strongly recommend Polisy as all future developments of UDI-ISY will be on it. The Polisy is also easy to configure and operate.
-
There is a Kasa nodeserver in the Polisy store.

Michel, will the final version address the "Control" versus "Status", that no longer function as before in 5.0.16 ?
-
Yes you can. My Son's ISY is still on 5.0.16 and mine is on 5.2 , and I control both in same ISY launcher. Furthermore when 5.1 did not work for me, I reverted back to 5.0.16 without any problem. However, you must have a 5.0.16 backup that you can restore after re-installing 5.0.16 .
-
I don't expect to need it any time soon.
-
I've seen on Amazon but don't have it (yet). I see no reason why it should not work.
-
If you are at 5.2 then do Update Neighbors. If you are at 5.0.X then do a Heal Network

Yes it does show in the AC. I just manually activated the light and it shows 45 % in the AC.
