failed getting engine version reverting to i1 message
You may want to try picking the 2477D from the drop down list and not Auto Detect. Though I suspect it is a communications issue between the PLM and the 2477D. The release notes for 2.8.16 shows the 2477D was supported.

failed getting engine version reverting to i1 message
What model Insteon module? What revision firmware is in your ISY99i? You are using the Auto Detect Choice? Do you have two Dual Band devices bridging the power line phases and verified in their communications test? If it is a RF device that goes into power saving mode. They have to be woken up before they can be added.

ISY99i setup - doesn't ask for an authentication
Glad you found the problem.

ISY99i setup - doesn't ask for an authentication
Are you running a Firewall or Anti virus program? If so what are they? I know Zone Alarm has to have the ISY99is address added to the Trusted Zone and Avast 6.0.1289 need some tweaking also.

n-Way Scene Question
From the users reported information on this web site. http://www.madreporite.com/insteon/Inst ... e_list.htm Your KeypadLinc Dimmer is the first hardware and firmware version sold. It is very possible it doesn't support the features in the newer models. The list indicates v1.5 and above with firmware .2D.

Will If/Then on the ISY99 poll Thermostats? (noob here)
There is only one Dual Band PLM. The 2413S Serial and the 2413U USB and with an ISY99i unit it would be a 2413S. Was the needed power supply also included?

New 99i owner, possible bad device
I would expect the network LEDs on the jack should be On or flickering if there was network activity. Seeing the TX; RX, and Mem LEDs flash possibly also, but I have noticed on my older one {Green Power LED}. They flicker briefly and sometimes I miss seeing then flash. You did verify the network connection in the wiring closet is functional?

ApplianceLinc leaking
That sounds like it would work.

ApplianceLinc leaking
I took a 35 LED 120 Volt .02 amp Christmas Light set and tested it with a 47K 1/2 watt resistor. With both a revision 1.3 and 4.1 ApplianceLinc. The LEDs did not glow and when On the resistor was not too warm as it was dissipating about .31 watts. Little more than half its rating. Though extreme care would be needed if a resistor was used. Don't need any sparks or lost members here.

ApplianceLinc leaking
I was just curious as I have had both versions apart to dissect them. Its the old electronic technician in me getting curious. I actually had one of the v.12s that smoked. Yes all they did was remove the two series caps across the relay contacts and call it a v1.3. The 4.1s have an RC network across the relay contacts.

ApplianceLinc leaking
Tim; Mostly hardware person question. Have you done both the older and newer hardware designed modules? I know they are very different internally between my v1.3 and 4.1 AppliancLincs.

ApplianceLinc leaking
Yes the Icons are the same . There is no jumper in the ApplianceLinc or Icon On Off module. Like the X10 ones have. Turning the Local Sensing Off option only has the module ignore local control events. The sensing current is still there. You don't have to hang the added load on the tree. Use a multiple connection tap on the AppliancLinc's outlet so you can plug both the added load and the LED lights directly into it. If you can safely do it. A 47K 1/2 watt maybe enough. A 33K 1 watt could also be used.

ApplianceLinc leaking
As mentioned it is normal for very low current LEDs to glow. From the local control sensing circuit. X10 Appliance Modules also will make low current LEDs glow. So Insteon ApplianceLincs are not unique in the finding. Besides wall warts. Some have used a 4 watt incandescent night light. Someone in the Smarthome Forums used an Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer to stop their LEDs from glowing. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9256

Power light not lite but system working
If the Green PWR LED is not On but the unit seems to be functioning correctly. I would get a replacement as it sounds like the LED is bad.

How to enable *Chime Module in 2487S Dual Band KPL?
They have not given us any data in the Developers Forums yet for the 2487S. So your findings will be dually noted.

How to enable *Chime Module in 2487S Dual Band KPL?
The 2487S is listed in the module drop down list. 02 1E. I am sure the UDI team can tell you what is supported.

New user questions
Yes and it supplied power to the ISY99i so the external one for the 2413S is not used. Depending on the age it may also be the small link database unit. That had a 417 link size.

ISY and/or PLM Not Seeing RemoteLinc Keypresses
Can the PLM firmware be updated yes but Smarthome/Smartlabs does not offer that service. The PLM does have a programming interface socket in it and I believe Smartlabs has a deal with Simplehomenet to update theirs for the EXIO8SA upgrade offer. v.63. I believe that is one of the 2412S PLMs with the smaller 417 Link Database. Yes AA.AA.AA was the address used in the developers kit models. Though not too active I am brian in the developers forums. I started with the 2414U PLC and the SALadIDE program. Along with SDM3.

Relocating plm and advance options question
I believe I have read here. That some I2 devices don't implement the protocol properly or only support some of the protocol.

Original Icon 2876SB Firmware?
I have some first run Icon 2876SB Wall Switches with the Green LEDs. Revision 1.1. Reports a firmware version of .60 in My Lighting. Anyone else see this version? A slightly newer one Revision 1.0 {yes for reasons only Smarthome knows they went back to 1.0} with the Amber LED reports a v.26.

Release 3.1.13 (Beta) Is Now Available
In the Add a New Device area. In the drop down list. [01.07] (2456D2) Icon LampLinc 2 pin. Shouldn't that be (2856D2)?

Chaged Out PLM, Questions
I was adding some modules to my setup. So that My Lighting would show the devices firmware revision. Then deleting the modules in My Lighting. The PLM count was higher than before. I believe the links marked as deleted where still counted. When I did a restore PLM the count went back to what I expected.

Synchrolinc Linking Problems
Yes I have both a SynchroLinc and an iMeterSolo. Both are sitting in their boxes unused. UDI fixed the enrollment problem a long time ago. I just didn't get any motivation to try them. I added the SynchroLinc as a test and it shows. Both the Is Controller For and the Is Responder To entries. Along with the options tab to set trip points and dead band before toggling an On or Off as the current changed.

ISY-26 Problem
Do you have a firewall or anti virus that recently updated? I know that Avast 6.0.1289 made some problems for me and there are a few threads here on what fixes we found out. Here is one of the threads. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6933
