Light turns off/on randomly
No I have not seen any schematics except the 2412 and 2413 PLM On the revision you are showing. The 30V Zener is under the horizontally mounted 470uzf cap. I had one of the diodes short killing the whole thing. One thing I did find out. Both revisions have the +5VDC logic supply. Directly connected to the Line hot AC input and regulation is on the - supplies side.

Light turns off/on randomly
That photo is for the later revision units. With the 24VDC relay. The earlier versions in the schematic had a 120VAC relay and a real small solid sate device to put a120VAC signal on the relay. Also had the two small bypass caps in series as a snubber. Across the relay contacts. They eventually shorted and the load tried to go through them. Magic smoke. Your model has a better snubber network in it.

Help w flickering floods on a 3-way Insteon circuit
The i3 that can be set to dim or on off. Probably has a triac output and even at 100% on may or may not not work well with LED loads. We picked certain brand LED bulbs as some would flicker.

Anyway to buy the Network Module for my ISY994i ...
The module is purchased from UDI and then they add it and it then shows up on the ISY994i. I don't think you can get it elsewhere. Since support from UDI was discontinued It may not be possible but I hope you find a way.

Insteon Low Volt Controller and Garage Door
If the new controller has other features like a clock and has only two wires back to the main unit. It probably has more then power on the two wire. The I/OLinc would short the messages back to the main unit. Another clue would be the clock in the wall mounted interface would reset to 12:00 every time the I/OLinc was triggered. I hove seen similar fixes. Where the I/OLinc was connected to a registered remotes internal push button pads. At one time the vendor made an interface module that took the simple dry contact pulse from an I/OLinc to control the new openers.

Use for ezflora or EZIO8SA ?
Sounds like the Insteon 2477SA1 normally open or 2477SA2 normally closed 220V AC module. 2477saqs_071612.pdf

Way to test PLMs if good from spare pile?
BusyRat gave us PLM test program but you had to know the low level commands and saw how it responded. I believe it was serial port only and in Windows. Developers also got some test programs through DockLight. Using the free downloadable evaluation version. I rewrote a few of the test programs to do what I wanted. Secret was their ptp programs could be rewritten with a plain text editor. If you knew what lines to change. As one of the limits of the free version was you could not save the changes. I did use it modified to do USB PLM units. So technically yes you could test them but it was not easily done by most. I would think the PLC modules are best in the electronic recycle bin.

Test Hookup Device for INSTEON Switches
I also did something similar and used Wago Lever Nuts.

2414U is not a PLM. It is PLC Power Line Controller. Could have programs downloaded in to it and run on its own. You had to create a program. Then use their compiler to compile it and down load it to the 2414U OR 2414s. With the SDM Smarthome Display Manager running the program. I believe it was Windows only. 2413S and 2413U are the same except the interface daughter board to the outside world. If sent the PLM ID command. It will have a different Subcategory. Most programs I know of did not check it and still worked fine. Subject to the known capacitor issues we have seen in the older revisions.

Use for ezflora or EZIO8SA ?
The EZIO8SA needs to be connected to its own 2412S PLM to be used. You will probably find it in the module list on the controller as a Compacta brand as that is the parent company. Maybe one of the two manufacturers names. SimpleHomeNet or Smartenit on the label itself. EZIO8SA_Quick-Start.pdf

Did really old LampLinc wall warts also have issues?
The 2456D LampLinc is power line only and the command has to get from the PLM connected to the ISY controller to the LampLinc by power line. Did you try a dual band module plugged into the pass through outlet on its front as a test? Could it be failing maybe. I will check one of mine. I kind of a power supply capacitor that was an issue. Now as for the Access Point. Check the sticker on the back If it is an revision 2.0 or above They are built on the base 2413 PLM main board and have the same failing capacitors as the 2413 PLM has.

eisy R2 UPS Power supply questions
USB C power supplies and cables. Can be found in varied wattage ratings. Not too well published information. I found it by chance. So it maybe possible to not get indicated power or the incorrect voltage. As I have seen some can negotiate the voltage and current with the power supply. Also some cables have a different maximum current they are rated for. Like my Dell 3100 Chromebook. Has a 64 watt supply with a USB C supply connection . The ratings label on it shows a few different voltage and current it can supply Depending on what it negotiates with the load connected to it. Your supply may have a label on it with wattage and ratings it is able to do. I would stick with what you get from UDI or get the needed specification from UDI.

PLM not seeing X10 off commands
On but no off can be the load is making noise when on and masking the off command. The XPNR is probably reducing or removing the noise sending the off command is then received.

Upgrading from ISY to EISY and a new PLM too
I do not think a restore will work. Maybe you are thinking of the Replace function. You have to rewrite all the links in you modules. For the 2413U's six digit so they respond to the commands from the new PLM.

Can't run isy994 anymore, except once
You may also want to try another wall wart power supply. They have a failure rate after being in service for awhile. Over the years I have had a few go bad.

ISY994 issues after four year hiatus.
If you remove the .jnp files. You probably would no longer have access to the ISY994i. Especially the Administrative Console. So changing things like scenes or changing modules settings

Just checking -- Still no PLM PRO equivalent?
Sounds like they did not use the FCC Database has in it from many years ago.

Unable to connect eisy to a new insteon dimmer
If it happens again. PLM modules have a reputation to fail. If one of the older revisions. You may want to check the revision level on the rear side of the PLM. For reference. Power cycling the PLM was one of the symptoms we have seen.

Communications issues with Insteon Appliance Linc
Glad you found it. I too have had the 47mfd/35V capacitor go south. Since it was side ways. It sounds like a revision 4 module. I had the 30Volt zener diode short out on the board. The cap is mounted over. Kill the module. I also have had the older revision 1 modules have the same cap get flaky In that case they started to flash the load on and off at I believe a 60 cycle rate. I changed all my in use ApplianceLinc modules capacitors.

Communications issues with Insteon Appliance Linc
Or the 470uF/35V capacitor failed or is deteriorate. I had one start cycling on and off at about a 30 cycle rate. I replaced it and it again was fine. I did it to all my real old V1.4 modules. I have also had the 30V Zener diode in the V4.0 and above short out. Rendering it dead.

SWL odd behaviour
You have tried the power down and back up reset? Factory reset and restore?
-
Random 'Failed Communicating with <device>'
Do you have the date code and revision number for the PLM. Usually on a sticker on the back of the PLM. It possibly could be a recently added noise maker or signal sucker or something changed. Did you possibly change some devices or start adding holiday lights and devises?

UPS and Insteon Best Practices
I have a Insteon FilterLinc with the UPS on the filtered outlet and my PLM in the unfiltered outlet on the front. With no effects I have seen. The FilterLinc is a 10 Amp rated unit and should be fine as long as the UPS has a 10 amp or lower line current rating.

Insteon Webinar 11/13/2025
Thank you for the information. It has been so long now. It could actually be a completely PLM than the one in the FCC Database. As parts used may no longer be made.
