The replace function would work if the replacement is a similar model. To do it you add the replacement with a new name. Then high lite the old one and pick the replace with function. Using the name you gave the new module. If it is a new power line only. It could take eight messages and acknowledgement to add one link to the replacement. So it would take awhile and if you have a power line noise issue. It may fail. If the new one is dual band replace may or my not be an option. As it may not be close enough for a swap.

Is it dual band or the power line only keypad?

ISY 994i user, questions on eISY
Brian H replied to Jamison_IO's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
One other fact. There is going to be an eisy price increase in early May. https://www.universal-devices.com/price-increase/ -
Try power cycling one of the switches. You can pull out the Set button to turn off the switch power then push it in to its normal position. Do NOT go past the normal position or you may factory reset it. You may also go into the Administrative Console and see how many links are in it and the PLM. That may give you a clue. Restoring one of the problem switches and testing may also show something.

Latest for an ISY994i is 5.3.4. In the ISY994i area not any Polisy or eisy areas. I also feel do not try any updates until you get into the ISY994i. If everything us working OK I would also say do not do it. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/33287-534-isy994-last-release-for-isy994/ https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/24381-iox-launcher/#comments

Then you have a chance to get a different module if you care to. I do know early ones had a history of failing and I don't know if they ever fixed it.

Turning on a high capacity relay does sound like a go way to go. Elk made a heavy duty 220VAC relay in an enclosure. With a 120VAC relay coil in an enclosure. Controlled by a On/Off module or any other similar module. Not sure if it would be anything you can use. https://www.elkproducts.com/product/heavy-duty-relay-contactor-9200/ Insteon sales site shows a 220VAC controller. https://www.insteon.com/load-controller

Some versions may not have the Jumper Header. Just two solder pads where it was mounted on the PC board. In the early manuals. Was to set the reduction in sensing field. Jumper On is reduced sensitivity. The small jumper block was many times on one of the two pins on the PCB. Some have used the power connector in them to run them on an external USB power supply. They are supposed to not have to go into the power saving mode on an external supply.

Motion Sensor Only Works in Scenes, not Programs
Brian H replied to gregkinney's topic in IoX Support
If it is like the one never seeing the light of day in the FCC Database. It would have a larger faster Link Database; faster processor clock, more universal power supply. Like 120 220VAC 50 60Hz. -
Make sure the PLM is totally booted before you power up the eisy. If it is like the older ISY994i PLM detection is during its boot up.
-
The sticker should also have a revision number on it. That also may give us information on the PLM.

The 2413S and older 2412S PLM use a unique cable. RJ45 to a DB9S connector. Only three wires are used. Serial In; Serial Out; common and in a unique pin out . The other pins are different signals like TTL in and out and the older 2412S also unregulated +12VDC normally around 18.5VDC. To be safe do not connect any other wires to the RJ45 PLM serial connector. Other than the three signals the serial PLM uses.

Have not seen it lately. We use to have LED bulbs that had a repetitive current spike and in rush current at startup. Manufactures gave us a figure to calculate the wattage we should use when we added up wastage to see if we where maybe overloading a dimmer switch. I remember a few said use 80 watts. 😀

Adding a dual band module. In the pass trough outlet is a good move as the I/OLinc is power line only. Adding the pass through module was recommended by Smarthome and now Insteon company.
-
Not sure if it has changed but we have seen brand new directly from Insteon modules. Having factory test links in them and a factory reset was need. Many here actually factory reset all our new modules before using them.
-
You are using a Polisy or eisy controller? They support the PS01. The old ISY994i does not due to last firmware released.
-
Mine was worse. The power LED flashed as it tried to boot and then the supply crashed and the sequence started again.
-
Did you use the Administrative Consoles replace the PLM function? To replace the old one for the new one. That would replace the old PLM's six digit ID in all your modules and then put your modules known six digit ID in the new PLM. I don't think a deleted module is completely removed from the PLM but one byte of the entry is changed to indicate it was deleted. The PLM is sent a factory reset command from the software at the start of the replacement or rewriting the whole known modules addresses. That should eliminate as marked as deleted.

Try a new power supply. They had a reputation to fail from time to time. I had two om my ISY994i and one on the older ISY99i.
-
Just be careful to possible get the serial signals correct. If the spare PLM is a serial port 2413S. The serial signals on the RJ45 style serial connector. Use just three signals. Send, receive and common. The others are TTL and should not be connected to anything. If you still have the PLM box. In the box should be a cable that has the RJ45 to DB9 serial connector for proper connections.

The 2476S single band switches where smaller than the dual band 2477S. As the 2477S had a larger size but also had a higher maximum current they could handle. Along with a heavier line and load wire. Never saw or used an I3 module so I can not say its size.

Checked the device list in my ISY994i There are three devices listed for Broan. Two are fans. I suspect the switch you have was part of a exhaust fan kit with a control. 05.00 SMC080 exhaust fan and 05.02 SMC110 exhaust fan. 05.05 was a deluxe range hood.
-
I also searched and found it maybe a Broan exhaust fan controller. That was used in early Insteon history. I did not find the exact number you posted it the developers shipping products list but close numbers used in the Broan. I know their products where used at one time and you may find them in the modules list in the ISY device list. With the device Category of 05 and a few Subcategories. Found this in a web search from Insteon.com. Pointed out by them. Page #4 shows how it can be used with Insteon. broan-ssqtxe110-specsheet-390.pdf

The PLM connected to the EZIO8SA is not connected to the ISY994i. It is programed by the EZIO8SA and is used to send and receive Insteon communications. From your ISY994i. So it would not be directly part of the change from the ISY994i to the eiay. When the eisy has the information from the ISY994i. It should be able to then access the EZIO8SA through it own PLM.

Restore or the replace PLM? If you did not use the replace function. All the old PLM links are in the modules and the new PLM will not see the messages sent to the old PLM. Paulbates tests will give you much needed information. If the information shows many links look at the back of the old PLM for its ID and see if the old PLM ID is in the displayed information.
