  1. The MultiSensor 6 is the? Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Multi-Sensor 6, Gen5Item # AEZW100A I ordered one tonight. Since the ISY can presently read one channel only, is it possible to select which sensor, or is it temp. by default?
  2. Thanks, I was looking for something a bit more 'plug n play' LOL. Gone are the days where I have time to spend on projects like this.
  3. I just want straightforward remote temperature sensing for my 994izw. Not planning on replacing existing thermostats. I've scanned the forums but have not seen any clear winners or losers. Any recommendations? Insteon wireless thermostat? Z-Wave Aeotec? Other? I like the multi-sensor 6, but I understand ISY does not support it yet. Does it support 1 channel if I use it just for temperature and then the other channels with the ISY multi-channel update? Thanks!
  4. I don't recall exactly, but I think I did, and I don't recall the outcome LOL. I replaced an old LampLinc in that same scene and had the same behavior. Maybe I'll try again with another one, since I was having a lot of trouble with that LampLinc.
  5. I added a smart bulb to several of my scenes that were controlled by a RemoteLinc 2. Put the RL2 in linking mode, dragged the bulb into the scenes. They turned off and on just fine from the RL2, but the new bulbs would not respond to ramp rate and dim settings in the scene. I deleted the RL2 buttons from the scenes, re-installed them and now it all works fine. It doesn't seem like that should be necessary. Has anyone else experienced this?
  6. Ok, interesting, I'll have to make note of that for future. Acts a little differently. Thanks!
  7. No I didn't make any program changes. Just deleted the device and when I looked at a program it was used in, the name was still there. Strange. I don't have anything to delete right now, so I'm not going to try and duplicate it. I wonder if it could have something to do with the age of the modules and the old firmware in them. Doesn't seem like it should as it seems like it is strictly an ISY OS issue, but I have had a number of random issues with some of these really old modules, I'm replacing them with new ones.
  8. One negative difference I noticed in the 994 programming vs. 26: in the 26, when you remove a device, if you look at a program where it was used, the name is replaced by <unspecified> or something like that. In the 994, the name is still in the program, leading one to think the device is still there. Is that normal behavior?
  9. Yes, I followed the procedure to make sure they are on two different phases. It took a few tries, but I got it. Ended up being one upstairs, the other downstairs, which I guess makes sense. Who knows how it's wired, though.
  10. Yeah, I had a bedroom lamp module that would not work at all, I installed a Filterlinc in front of the TV/sound bar/cable box and it hasn't failed once. I have another one, I need to figure out the best place to install it. It should improve also once I get everything moved over to the new PLM. At least I know that the hardware basically works. I have a pair of range extenders installed also.
  11. Interesting, I moved the Lamplinc that would not link to a location of one that would link, and it linked just fine. Took it back to the location where it would not link and it responds to commands perfectly. I have 4 new Lamplinc's on the way, I have a feeling there is some incompatibility with the old stuff. Even though these are all 2456, some are v28, some are v33, so there are differences. At least now I know the basic hardware is working, I'll just start rebuilding the system, using newer hardware when necessary.
  12. Yes, I'm sure I got the 'insteon engine' error once, but I tried it again and got 'cannot determine device type'. I tried 2 different modules, one Lamplinc and one Appliance (2456S3) and got both of them to link. So I don't know what is going on. They were in a different part of the house, so I need to try the one that would not link in those locations, but I'm not having any issues with my old system.
  13. I tried adding manually (I actually prefer it that way), I think I got a 'cannot determine Insteon device type' error or something like that. I'll try it again. It's an old LampLinc 3 pin, 2456D3. I tried another one, same result. I didn't do the test, just moved the PLM to a known good location, the same outlet that my old 26 and PLM are on and working fine. It shouldn't matter if there are two PLM's I wouldn't think. The old one is working fine.
  14. I moved the ISY and PLM to the same location as my existing ISY and PLM. I have virtually zero communication issues there. Still no luck. Some of these modules are pretty old. I assume the new ISY is compatible?
  15. Ok, I do get the 'linking in progress' with the 3 options. But when I put the module in linking mode, nothing shows up, either before or after clicking 'finish'. On my old 26, it would pop up a linking progress dialog. Info attached.
  16. This a new 994 and new PLM. PLM status appears to be ok, it is connected (per PLM Info/Status). Linking will not start. I click on Link Mgt>Start Linking, choose any link option > Finish, it just goes back to the same screen, does not present a 'linking in progress' dialog. Ideas? Thanks.
  17. That's what I thought. Thanks for the help! I need to get that upgrade in the works!
  18. This is not really a 994 question, but I am planning on replacing my old 26 with a 994 soon. Will newer devices work on the 26 or just the devices in the 'devices' dropdown in link management? Many of those are no longer available. Thanks!
