Not sure where to find it, I'll dig. Again, when the finder pops up with my ISY listed, what am I supposed to do then? I can't seem to do anything.
-
It finds the ISY, but I can't do anything with it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm not clear what to do when it finds it. Attached is what I get, along with the console window with a bunch of errors.

Yes, it pings it 4 times and I get 4 responses max 1 msec. Interesting, I'm sure I saw it in the client list earlier, not it says (IP) unknown for port 2, which is the port ISY is plugged into. MAC address is correct. Unknown Unknown 00:21:b9:02:2c:44 Eth-Switch Lan(2)

Tried that, it didn't seem to do anything, maybe I'm not using the finder right. Am I supposed to save it?

I have to go out, feel free to leave more suggestions You guys are great, thanks for the help. It's probably something simple.

It looks like it still is not working, can't get in to the console now. It comes up with that ISY finder, hit 'add' it asks me for URL, I type in the URL listed and it doesn't do anything. I guess I'm not doing something right there.

LOL I hope so.

ok but now I can't get in to admin console

Ok it's rebooting now.

I think the range is 254? I am using 161. Private Starting Address 192.168.0. (2~254) Number of CPEs Public Starting Address 0.0.0. (2~254) Number of CPEs I was going to change to DHCP earlier, but I was worried that my Admin Console could not then find the ISY.

Well that didn't work after enabling it in the router, I'm rebooting ISY to make sure.

I changed routers, now my portal does not work. It is showing 'ISY Offline' and admin console is showing 'offline/registered' and 'refresh' button does nothing. I have not found any instructions on how to re-sync the portal, only instructions on installing new. I guess I could delete the ISY from the portal and re-install, but I assume I would have to redo all of my Echo instructions, so I don't want to do that if I don't have to! Ideas? Of course I tried rebooting the ISY Thanks!

I'm probably better off getting the portal to work with the new router instead of using a separate router. Going to start a new topic to that effect. Thanks!

Thanks, The static IP I'm using is 161, so it is well out of the range DHCP would assign. I'd actually rather get the portal working on the new router, I did this cause the old one already worked. But I don't want to cause more problems. I'm just not sure what needs to be done there. I noticed upnp was disabled in the new router. Wondering if that would affect the portal interface.

Ok, so I changed my router to the router in the Spectrum modem, then realized my Portal wasn't working, I guess because the ISY was configured with the old router. So I re-installed the old router just for the ISY. Works great, Portal interface came right up. But now, I can't log in to the Admin Console, which was working fine. Instead of login I get the attached. The computer I am on is connected to the modem router, the ISY is connected to it's own router, I guess that's the problem, but I'm using static IP, it should work, shouldn't it? Thanks. Note: I tried closing the console, rebooting the ISY, then restarting the console, no luck.

Thanks, good to know, but I just realized it won't work for me. I have code in there to disable the alert system for 10 minutes when the front door is opened so if you're going in and out, getting groceries, etc., it won't drive you crazy. This would bypass that function. I guess the Alert Module will go back on the shelf, maybe I can find a less tacky beeper. Or. . . hello. . . Echo push voice alerts!

I'm using a pressure activated mat connected to an open/close sensor to tell me if someone is at the front door (also activate a couple of little spotlights and send text). I'd like to use the Alert Module instead of the tacky beeper I'm using now inside the house. But, as we know, the ISY does not support the Alert Module. Since I also have an Insteon Hub (which does support it), can I link the open/close sensor to the Hub in addition to the ISY without issues? Thanks.

Will do, thanks. 'No neutral required' major feature!

Supported by ISY? http://aeotec.com/z-wave-light-dimmer-switch

I agree, I would rather have it polled on my schedule instead of just randomly sending out signals. I keep it at 15 minutes to keep the traffic down.

I've been using the Aeonics Multi-Sensor 6 for a while, have several around, but mostly motion and temperature. Recently I installed one to do exactly what you are doing. It is USB powered and works quite well. I query it every 15 minutes. Deadband I'm using is 15 lux between ON and OFF and I only have it active during the day so it doesn't try and defeat manual control of the lighting at night.

Programming: What can trigger a program and what cant?

Wow, I never saw that LOL. I was just using the heat output. Going to play. The workaround I did (above) seems to work well.
