ok it looks like .4 is the computer I'm on, snapwerxedit. Pool is 1.2 to 1.254. I don't remember what the pool was in my old router, but I don't think I was outside of it, I just picked a number that it would never get to (161). I'm going to unplug everything from the router except for the ISY, then try to get to it from my phone. I don't know of any VPN connection. i certainly didn't set any up. Yes, snapwerxlaptop is a different computer.

Should it show up here with the IP the router gives it? Or since it's static IP of 161 it won't? I guess if I could change the ISY to DHCP it would connect, but I can't if I can't connect to it. The TL is a CPI Security camera server. Paulbates, the others are 192.168.1.x and they show up, if that's what you mean.

I'm having the same issue, Spectrum changed out my router and now I can't find the ISY, by Finder or even direct in the browser. Tried the admin.jnlp. Nothing. I see where I can reserve an IP for each device that my router says is connected, but the ISY does not show up. I use the static IP of 192.168.1.161. Shouldn't the ISY just grab that IP from the router when it boots up? Thanks!

Ahhh yes, this is true. I think I've been away from electrical engineering for too long 700W/240VAC Inductive/Capacitive Should still be fine, but definitely something to look at!

It should. I haven't checked yet, but that's why I went with the on/off, not the open/close. That's over 2.5 HP. I went ahead and ordered also, with the 30% off and NO SHIPPING.

So am I correct that a micro on/off witch will still operate via ISY control if the 'sense' wires are not connected? I'm thinking about installing a ceiling fan in my office in place of the ceiling light fixture. The switch box has no neutral, I can just leave the switch ON and install the micro on/off at the fan and let it turn on/off with the motion sensor that controls the floor lamps.

Ok, so I want to get going on my water cutoff system. I found a motorized ball valve on Amazon for about $70 that I like because it is 120vac (don't need a power supply), but it failed on the bench. Scratch that. The SmartHome 70275 is $99 and requires a power supply, but looks pretty robust. Does anyone have experience with this one? I already have a bunch of leak detectors deployed (beeper and notify only). I'm also planning on installing an inline flow sensor in the same branch for conditions that may not be a leak. Going to bypass that whole setup with two 3-way valves and a bypass line 'just in case'.

You can also use the Aeon Multi-Sensor 6, which transmits actual lux values. I just use one in a fairly representative room in the house and poll the lux value every 15 minutes. Lights will turn on if it gets dark, then burn back off if it brightens up again, ie, the passing thunderstorm. I only use the Multi Sensor 6 with a power supply so it never goes to sleep.

I'm getting ready to get quotes on replacing both of my A/C systems. I want to be pro-active and have them quote a thermostat (mainstream, not Insteon) that is compatible with my ISY (w/z-wave) and can also be controlled via Amazon Echo . Based on a forum search, it appears that Honeywell YTH8320ZW1007/U is a good choice? I have read about z-wave intermittent connection issues with this thermostat. What is the latest on that? 2 independent systems (up & down), A/C, gas heat Just looking for basic control: on/off, setpoint, heat/cool mode, fan, etc. I work at home so don't really need 7 day, and if I do I can just implement in ISY Basic control from Echo: on/off, setpoint control. (via ISY is fine) ISY is v4.6.2 with z-wave and portal integration Question: Is local/remote control concurrent as with the Insteon thermostat? If I change a setting on the tstat or ISY, does the other update? Or is it 'either/or'? Thanks!

No, sounds like I should do that.

It is in a scene with another space heater so both can be controlled via Echo device "turn both heaters off'. It is controlled on/off by mini-remote It is controlled on/off by KPL. I have my KPL buttons configured (via programming) as 'press on/press off'. The indicator for that button is in a scene controlled by status of the outlet control. Not even close to an I/O Linc. Thanks!

I have one on/off receptacle that, for some reason, turns ON at the 3 am Query. I have another one that controls the den fireplace that doesn't do that. Has anyone seen that? Now I know, thank you!

Thanks Michel, actually I did find that it was already installed and named, so I thought it wasn't there! But is that normal behavior if you try to link an Insteon device that is already in the ISY?
-
I've got an on/off module that I was sure was good, but when I try and link it to ISY (New INSTEON Device>Autodiscover), it just pops up a dialog window briefly. So brief that I cannot even read any message that may be there and then it just closes. The whole thing takes about half second. Doesn't even try to communicate. Any ideas? Tried factory reset, also specifying device in dropdown instead of Autodiscover. Update: I tried linking from the module with the ISY in linking mode, it said it was already added, but it's not in the tree! Thanks.

No, everything else is populated properly.

Since it is a fireplace application I'm not using any cooling. I'll put it in heat/cool and warm it to force it into cooling and see if that fixes it. I have another one that I'm using heat/cool and it works fine.
-
Internal sensor. Temperatures are definitely changing since it is cycling the fireplace off and on perfectly. I guess I might have to re-install it. Ugh.
-
I've tried everything. It's been in and working great for several days. Changing temperatures, changing setpoint, changing mode, etc. etc. Still blank
-
That is a good thread, found it the other day. I'll look in more detail. Thanks.
-
Hmmm, it is plugged in (5vdc USB power supply) and it certainly has changed state, it's been operating fine controlling my fireplace. Everything else displays, manual query does not help.
-
I know this has come up before, couldn't find a clear answer in 'search'. I installed a wireless Insteon thermostat a couple of days ago. It is working fine, but the admin console status display is still blank. Best fix for this? Thanks.

How to monitor water temp via ISY and catch more fish!

Yes! Just saw it yesterday on this thread! They look very cool. Are they reliable?
