Yeah I just figured out yesterday what is going on with my UPnP remote access too. It looks the ISY sets the UPnP settings to my Linksys BEFSR81 router each time the ISY boots but is not properly registering it active in the router. If I try to access remotely just after ISY reboot and the remote access goes bad on me. If I login to my router and go to the UPnP page and save it, (without even changing any of the data) then it starts working correctly again until I reboot the ISY and it does its setting the router thing again. Michel, I wonder if there is some UPnP completion command that needs to be sent to the router each time it has UPnP settings set?

This is the first time for me with having a corrupt file system since getting my ISY-99i a few years ago. Wow yours even was unable to use the network resources and you had to go to serial! I wonder if you pulled the SD card and formatted it in the PC if you could have gotten the network resources working again without using the serial port? Maybe we need to add the connecting it by serial port process too to the Wiki? I think the lower case is fine for the rest of the commands but when I tried the lower case y for the format it seemed to not do anything so then I retried with the upper case Y and it did format that time. My ISY does not have the slot on the side for the external access so I am not able to take that picture...does yours, want to take the pic for me? If so I did my pic on white paper under one of our halogen can lights all the way on. I don't have a light box which would be the best lighting without shadows so instead I just tried to center it under the can light to avoid the shadow but as you can see I did not get is exactly centered. I plan to photo shop the current pic to remove the shadows at work next week. Thanks for the feedback on the Wiki! Sure does help! Thanks,

It was a corrupt filesytem as best I can tell because a format from the ISY telnet window, latest firmware, and then restoring the backup did fix it. Also throughout the whole process deciced to update and greatly improve the Wiki entry on formatting the SD card. Wiki: Replacing/Formatting an SD Card Michel, Please review the Wiki entry and let me know if there is anything you would like improved/changed on this topic since I am not the expert on it I am sure there is a few more things that could be there. Thanks!

Rand, I would love to help with this but it really has to be done my someone with admin on the server where the phpBB is installed... Michel, how can we help with upgrading the forum software? Thanks, Mark

Do you think it could be the SD card? I could do a format like listed in this post... http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... 6093#36093

Oh no... I was going along working on renaming a program then got a popup error. So I closed the web browser and cleared the java cache and tried to log back in only to find all my programs where gone. Then I cleared all the caches again and tried to do a restore from last night’s backup. It only got about a third of the way through and gave me Upgrade Failed :Failed Uploading File (report written size is invalid) error. Now when I restart I can only login as admin and all devices/scenes/programs are gone. I am using 2.8.1 and my backup is from 2.8.0 from last night when I upgraded. What sould I do next?

Secheduled programs execution when sharing the same time
Mark Sanctuary replied to Mark Sanctuary's topic in ISY994
The thing I am trying to avoid is this, I have my irrigation schedule program setup to start at 11pm and run thru the night. The problem is if I don't have an end time and reboot the ISY it turns on the first station. Since I am the tinkering kind and from time to time reboot my ISY I really don't want the sprinklers coming on every time I reboot. If On Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri From 11:30:00PM For 1 second And Program 'Auto Flag Rain In Past 36 Hours' is False And Program 'Auto Flag Temp Below 40' is False And Program 'Manual Flag Currently Running' is False Then Run Program 'Auto Run Drip Stations' (If) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Program 'Auto Flag Temp Above 90' is False Then Set 'Outside Irrigation / S4: Back Drip1 (Maples)' On Wait 60 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S5: Back Drip2 (Fruit Trees)' On Wait 60 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S6: Back Drip3 (Daylilly)' On Wait 60 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S8: Front Drip1' On Wait 60 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S8: Front Drip1' Off Else Set 'Outside Irrigation / S4: Back Drip1 (Maples)' On Wait 90 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S5: Back Drip2 (Fruit Trees)' On Wait 90 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S6: Back Drip3 (Daylilly)' On Wait 90 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S8: Front Drip1' On Wait 90 minutes Set 'Outside Irrigation / S8: Front Drip1' Off -
So if I schedule lets say three seperate programs like this... If From 3:00:00PM For 1 second Then - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Do they get cached and executed one after another? What decides which one takes the first turn? If From 3:00:00PM For 1 second Then Wait 90 minutes Do something Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If execution of the program takes longer than the one second, does it finish the program? Thanks,

Which firmware are you using?

Do you know what brand and model? With this infomation we might be able to look it up better online and figure it out together. As for tieing in with INSTEON there may be a trigger circuit that can be controlled with an IOLinc.
-
Did you get this setup working? I would think you used the output node to connect to the door trigger and that what you discribed worked good.
-
It looks like it should work... did you run into any issues?
-
There is a good chance it will be fine. INSTEON devices are watching for only their data and all else is rejected as noise, but if its continuous transition it could keep the noise circuits in INSTEON devices from responding to INSTEON communications. Need to find a white paper on the Envoy Communications in order to understand if the signal is similar in design and would even be heard by the INSTEON devices. Maybe contact someone over at that company they may know better than trying to research to much.

I can't decide either... MobiLinc seems to have a good feature set, but I have to try some of the others too. The prices though hold me back from testing all of them.
-
Looks like communication errors, have you found a solution? What is the type of device that is giving you the unsupported errors?
-
Did you figured out this issue yet?
-
I am not totally sure about why the sensors are being triggered when the query runs...another thing you can do if you don't want your sensors triggered is you can Query once an evening an all scene that would exclude the sensors.
-
Its a check of every device under your "My Lighting" which everything you have linked to the ISY. In most cases the ISY has things already synced but there is times that a status is not matching and this query corrects it. I like to leave mine as another insurance tool for reliability of my setup but as Michel says its not a required program.

Upgraded PLM to new dual band - now having ISY problems
Mark Sanctuary replied to theedudenator's topic in ISY994
Are you getting any errors when you enter the admin window? Can you control the individual device used in the program from the admin window? What does the program look like? Thanks, -
Did you get your thermostat setup? Just in case here is some help in the Wiki... Linking a Thermostat
-
The ISY is infectious isn't it...I am always looking for so cool new trick to add to my setup! And improving the WAF (wife acceptance factor) is always a good thing!
-
Did you get this working? Since your controlling two Scenes it makes since to use a program, and your program looks fine. Are you seeing the status of the 'Utility / IRLinc.09 TV Mode' node toggle ok? Do you have this node in toggle mode or non toggle mode? If in non toggle mode is it setup to send the on?

Hello Mark, I like to name my folders by location. I experimented with many ideas but landed with this way because its easiest to find stuff when things get sophisticated. Ultimately I would love to see both the device and program folder trees be merged into one section so when programming you don't have to jump back and forth between device and program tabs but that's another topic. Device Folders Program Folders Thanks,
