UPDATE: MobiLinc HD, Pro, and Orchestrated MobiLinc version 3.20.00 is now available from the iTunes App Store.

Hi Everyone,

We are excited to announce that we've completed work on our ELK security plug-in and have submitted the next round of MobiLinc for iOS updates to Apple for approval. We expect to receive approval from Apple in early April.

In the mean time, check out our sneak peek images on our Facebook page or head over to our website for more information on the ELK plug-in for MobiLinc:

http://mobilinc.com/features/plugins/

https://www.facebook.com/MobiLinc

Features:

- Integrates with MobiLinc Connect. Access your ISY and your ELK's areas, zones, and outputs anywhere you have internet access. No extra networking required. It just works. The added benefit of MobiLinc Connect allows you to access your ELK without exposing your security panel to the internet or requires any other specific ELK service.

- Also works with direct connections to the ISY.

- Real-time status of areas, zones, and outputs.

- Arm/Disarm areas and control outputs.

- Option to prompt the user to enter the security code to arm/disarm areas.

- Option to "toggle" arming/disarming areas based on current state.

- Option to show zone voltages.

- Option to mask the security code from prying eyes.

- Option to disable output controls.

- Option to hide the virtual output controls.

Hi starmanj,

From a reponse I posted in regards to IP Camera support on Android: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=10190&start=0

What we've witnessed over the last few years as iOS and Android duke it out is the home automation space is absolutely dominated by iOS devices and users. As a result we skew heavily to iOS as that's where the majority user base resides. There are enough Android users out there to keep us engaged and supporting the Android platform, but we're having to focus our energy and limited resources on features that we think the respective platforms will respond to.

We are seeing that general market share numbers aren't translating into the niche of home automation. It maybe that over time these become the same, but previously, currently, and in the near future, we aren't seeing any evidence that our user base is shifting away from majority owned iOS devices. We are very sensitive to the market and watch the general trends along with our own internal research numbers to make the best use of our limited resources.

If you'd like to discuss further, feel free to email me at: support@mobilinc.com

I would agree with the other posts. At this time, android has quite a few users--especially among tech users. You can count me among the android users who would like to see similar features to the apple version of mobilinc. If you look at the softwares reviews on google play, the lack of ip camera support comes up in every other recent review. At some point the lack of ip camera support and elk support becomes a self fulfilling prophecy--with fewer android users because of the lack of features. I am confident though that these features are not far away on android--either through mobilinc or some other software. I am already noticing some universal tablet remote software incorporating isy/insteon. The demand will drive the creation of new software.

If all yor android devices are registered under one google account you would only buy the app once.

Yep that is true, if you have the same google account you buy the applications under on each device you can install it on all of them for no additional cost.

OR, as in my case, you have kindle fire or other device that you have to sideload into, you can email Wes and get a version to download and a code to lets you do that too.

You won't have to buy it 5 times.

hbsh01,

IF all of the active Android devices in use at my home were all registered under one Google account then it is likely that the MobiLinc app would only need to be purchased once.

However, I neither indicated that these five Android devices that are currently in use at my home were simply my own devices nor did I indicate that they were all registered to simply one Google Account (as in actuality, different Google Accounts are being used by different family members with these devices).

I simply stated that I would not buy MobilLinc without Elk Integration (which would neither be purchased by me for my use nor would I purchase MobiLinc for any of my family members without Elk Integration as I don't see any value of the current level of integration as-is at this time).

So, as-is, multiple MobiLinc app purchases and multiple MobiLinc Add-Ons are neither being purchased by me for my use nor for my family.

As I stated, a kindle fire is not under a google account is it?

As I also stated, you can email Wes and get a code based version and side load it. Will not matter if it is your account or not on the device. I have mobilinc on 3 devices I do not "own", but are used by the family in the house.

Ya know, it's because of my home automation, ISY, and Mobilinc that I stayed on an iOS device so long. But I couldn't stand it any longer. I just swapped to Android device and love it. You can do so much more on an Android. If statistics are showing they have more iOS users, it's because the app for Android is forcing them to use iOS. Like it was me for me. Not bashing, just stating why this user was iOS and now Android. Please devote more time and energy Android! I have already purchased pro for iOS and also on my Android. Whats different in the free and pro Android versions by the way?

Hi Wes,

I upgraded HD to 4 .00.10 on both iPhone and iPad and I seem to have lost access to the elk module.

It shows up as a purchased module under "My Plug-ins" and I can select the general settings under "Security Controller" but the Security lock icon is no longer shown on the iPad and I can't find any link to the elk interface on the iPhone menu.

"My Security" is NOT selected under "hide my pages"

Hi Tandar,

Can you make sure that the ISY is still connected to your ELK through the ISY's Admin Console? IE Make sure the Admin Console can arm/disarm and see updated zone status in real-time.

If the ISY can't talk to your ELK, then MobiLinc wouldn't see any ELK data and won't show the ELK/Security option.

Wes,

If these symptoms are consistent with a lost ISY/ELK connection, I'm sure that's the problem.

I won't have access to the system until this evening. I'll confirm then.

Could an enhancement be a greyed out security icon if the ELK module is purchased but not active?

Thanks

Wes,

Elk and ISY were talking. As a matter of fact I got a notification from ISY that was triggered by elk.

But the security icon was not displayed.

The solution was simply to sync MobiLinc (update only) with the ISY. I may not have done this after the upgrade.

Thanks, tandar
