Sending just one email for an event vs. non stop emails

I can't seem to remember how to do this:

I have (3) programs to send emails for my ELK M1 for when the system is Armed, Disarmed and Alarmed.

If

Elk M1 is armed

Then

Send email

The problem I have is it sends non-stop emails. (ex. If I disarm the system it will send non stop "disarm" emails until I arm the system. Then, when armed, it will send non stop "armed" emails. How do I get the isy to send just 1 email per event?

Thanks in advance for your time!

I don't have an Elk but usually for most ISY devices there are two different styles of triggers in the pulldown menu. "status" and "control". One triggers events on every signal sent to the device and one only triggers events on the initial signal that changes the device state.

I don't have an Elk yet either but I do believe that the transition between Armed Stay, Armed Away and Disarmed states should only trigger a program once at the change of state.

Post the actual program that is sending the email. There must be additional triggers or a loop somewhere.
