Michel Kohanim Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Hello all, With the new version of Chrome, Java Applets are no longer supported. As such - and to access the Admin Console - please do make sure that you use the following URLs: http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/admin.jnlp - Served from our website and will look for your ISY on the network. Please note that only the Application is served from the website and otherwise there are no other communications between the website and ISY http://your-isy-ip-address/admin.jnlp - Served from ISY. On Windows, you can use http://isy/admin.jnlp Thank you. With kind regards, Michel
Davonavo Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Have tried all possible combinations of these URLs with no luck on Chrome and IE . Could you give a more detailed description with all alphanumeric charictures required for those of us more computer challenged?
Teken Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Have tried all possible combinations of these URLs with no luck on Chrome and IE . Hello Davonavo, The first link does not download a file to your computer system? If it does all you need to do is click on the down load and the application will launch. Once it finds your ISY Series Controller it will than automatically launch the Admin Console. Edited April 17, 2015 by Teken
Davonavo Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 OK, fourteenth combination of characters and numerals yielded results, thanks. Some of us need a little more help.

mattc Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 There's actually a temporary workaround that should work until September 2015: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi See: http://homeautomationguru.com/isy994i-google-chrome-java/for more details

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to share this quick fix and work around. Thank You

What might that combination be? I'm new to this combination and can't get any of the links to even recognize the ISY on my network, Thank you Dale
stusviews Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Why does anyone use Chrome or IE to access the ISY? It's an easy way to run anything that's already set up; scenes, programs, cameras, network resources, wake on lan, etc. for those who just need control, but not intricate details.
G W Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 It's an easy way to run anything that's already set up; scenes, programs, cameras, network resources, wake on lan, etc. for those who just need control, but not intricate details.Through the built web interface? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not seeing any problems.
Dale T Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Why does anyone use Chrome or IE to access the ISY? Possibly because that's what the instructions suggest Some of us are new to this, so we try to follow the instructions.
larryllix Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Why does anyone use Chrome or IE to access the ISY? If one doesn't use a browser how else would we access our ISYs to programme them?
LeeG Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Use the ISY Finder. With multiple ISY devices in use it allows the selection of the appropriate ISY. No Browser involved. Edited May 26, 2015 by LeeG
Brian H Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Most of the time I use the ISY Finder but have used Firefox and IE occasionally.
G W Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 If one doesn't use a browser how else would we access our ISYs to programme them?I use the java applet. No browser involved.
G W Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Possibly because that's what the instructions suggest Some of us are new to this, so we try to follow the instructions. The instructions also suggest not using a browser. Maybe it's time to remove the browser from the instructions.
Davonavo Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I guess if it works for us, and we are comfortable with it, thats enough...
someguy Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 can you provide specific instructions as to how to access an isy from outside the home network? I tried using the options above and they didn't work.
Michel Kohanim Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Hi someguy, http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Remotely_Connect_to_Your_ISY#Configuring_a_Non-UPnP_Router With kind regards, Michel
dmazan Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Is there any way to administer the thing without using Java? A java applet implies that I have a PC, most likely a Windows PC. How about just a browser-based interface that I can run from a phone or a tablet?
Michel Kohanim Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 Hi dmazan, Administration, unfortunately not yet but we are working on it. Command and control, yes: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-994i_Initial_Browser_Screen With kind regards, Michel
dmazan Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Attempting to hide the logo on an iOS device using #main_panel=false doesn't work. It ends up being URL-encoded into %23 which fails.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Hi dmazan, This works on Safari: http://isy-ip-address/WEB/udajax.htm#main_panel=false . Are you using this URL? With kind regards, Michel
dmazan Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Yes, actually it does. You just can't enter it as a bookmark--iOS changes the # to %23. But if you enter it into the browser address bar and then save it as a bookmark, that works.
