I purchased a PLM for my new ISY99i. I did not notice there were two options for the PLM and I purchased the USB version. Instead of returning for a serial and being down a few more days, is it possible to use adapters to go from a RJ45 to USB Btype male. I f . I found the correct adapters for the configuration, but WILL IT WORK. Does this lower the reliability?

Hello and I am so very sorry to hear and I do take the blame for not having that information more readily available.

 

Unfortunately, the only thing you can use is a USB to serial (not the other way around) converter which is not yet in the market.

Thank you for your fast response. I found two connectors that will get me from the usb to serial. I am not sure what you mean by it needs to be the other way around. Please see my links to the adapters.

Those will not work. Please save yourself some grief and return the USB PLM for a serial PLM.

Where did you find a USB PLM? I thought the only USB PLM was in the HouseLinc2 Kit and was specially loaded for that software.

You didn't by chance buy a 2414U PLC did you?

The PLM is a 2412S

That is correct about the USB PLM only coming with HL2. I bot it from a friend as he had HL2 with an extra PLM. I have already returned it and bot a 2412s !! Thanks.
