I'm new to the automation world and am having trouble setting up my multi sensor6... i currently do not have a z-stick or minimote, but the documentation provided says it can by synced by other methods. i am running the isy994zw/ ir  pro controller and have tried searching the device with not luck. hope someone can help :)

excited to get this bad boy running!

Try excluding it once or twice and then try linking it again. That seems to help with zwave devices. Also the ISY doesn't currently support multi channels, but it's coming soon.

Thanks Dennis,

i cant even get the controller to recognize the sensor- my other switches and sensors all have a sequence or button to push will syncing- the multi sensor does not. is there any way to get it to search for the controller?

Open the event viewer, set to level 3 and then put the ISY into exclude mode, then press the button on the multisensor. The exclude dialog will go away and you should see some spew in the logs. Now, put the ISY into include mode and I *strongly* suggest you pair it with a *double press* of the button to pair it in secure mode. *IF* you're going to power it by USB, you should pair it while powered by USB. If you pair it while powered by USB *and* in secure mode (double button press), it'll act as a secure repeater. The little led cycles a rainbow when unpaired, red when excluded, green when included unsecure and blue when included secure.

I've got like 12 of these guys and the only troubles I've had is when I didn't exclude them first.

Btw, there is a firmware update for them. And as far as I know, you need their zwave dongle and a Windows computer to do it. I had to exclude all of mine, include them on the dongle, update them, exclude them and then re-include them to the ISY. What a pain! :)

Did they provide any details on what was fixed in the firmware update?

Also, when you referenced their dongle, are you referring to their Z-Stick product?  Did you try to setup the dongle as a 2nd Z-Wave controller on the ISY so you could update the firmware without having to exclude-include-exclude?

I don't recall much detail about what was in the update and honestly, they worked fine both before and after so... maybe not worth bothering with? I didn't try adding it as a 2nd controller, will try that when I get more.

Ok, I've upgraded to 5.0.4 and my z wave version is 4.55.  I'm trying to add a multisensor6 but I too am getting the phantom intrusion alarm and glass break alarm.  Has anyone found a fix for this?  Also in my programs when adding a condition it does not give me a value for things like temp or lux.  It only gives me an on/off.

Hi mykanderson,

What's your UI version?

With regards to phantom nodes, they are reported by the motion sensor. We had some discussions with regards to suppressing them but that would prevent us from debugging things. Since we are in alpha, we decided not to suppress them for now and add more debugging.

With kind regards,

Michel

Found the firmware release summary; The URL also includes instructions for using a Z-Stick to upgrade the firmware on the Multisensor 6.
