integraoligist Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 So using Alexa to run scenes and programs is the main way we utalize out system with out hub. Now we're changing to ISY, which subscribers service is better to work with Alexa? I could not find much info on the UD portal and what type of commands you can give Alexa.... But on the MobiLinc site it shows there are 2 skills that we can choose from, one being the basics and the other skill is a custom setup whereas it will run anything you can throw at it and also be able to have Alexa play a custom response once the commands are completed. This is better then just a beep or an OK that we get now with the hub, and even 30% of the time with the hub, Alexa will say OK but not run the scene... I don't know what's up with that. Speed is also a factor, I've worked with other smart home devices that will stall after giving a command... Sometimes upto a minute before doing what it's supposed to do. I want to verify that nether of these portals will cause an issue like this? When you issue a command to Alexa does it need to access the portal to recognize what was said then communicate back through the online portal to the ISY to run the command? Thanks all Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Hi integraoligist, I let MobiLinc respond for MobiLinc. For ISY Portal, all the information is in the link below including commands you can issue: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Amazon_Echo_Integration In most cases, the response time is about 2-3 seconds and sometimes better and sometimes a little worse. If you don't get a response within 5 seconds, then you can assume something is wrong. With kind regards,Michel Quote
giomania Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 And when it is taking longer and your patience is running out, yelling at Alexa releases the pressure, and she never gets offended! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
stusviews Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I found some way to offend it, some pleasurable responses from it, as well Quote
