laspeslet Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I have connected an Insteon thermostat and 2 Insteon cameras. I can control the thermostat remotely but am not able to view the camera video remotely unless I use the Foscam app. Is there a way I can view it through the UD? I can see both cameras but get a broken picture icon.
larryllix Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 No. ISY is a home automation controller. Some have controlled Can PTZ and snapshots from ISY.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Hello @laspeslet, Have you tried: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-994i_Initial_Browser_Screen#Camera_Support_.28Requires_4.0.1_and_above.29: (you will need to use the remote IP address to your cameras). With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Hi @laspeslet, Did you create port forwarding rules in your router to the camera? In all cases, the remote IP is probably your ISP's IP address which you can get from : https://whatismyip.com . With kind regards, Michel

I guess I will try and get that sorted out first. If only I could get a Shaw tech on the phone that understood what I needed. I thought that maybe since I can access the thermostat, that it was okay.

Port forwarding converts an external IP address (your ISP given IP address) and a port number (default 443) to another IP address (Internal - usually 192.168.0.1xxx = ISY address) and Port number. (default 443) = ISY secure port) If you are not using port 80 you may need to use https://ISP address externally. (note "s" for secure) and setup the secure port address inside your ISY to match.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Hi @laspeslet, This might help a bit: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Remotely_Connect_to_Your_ISY#Configuring_a_Non-UPnP_Router With kind regards, Michel
