Nugen Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Hi- I'm trying to use a mini remote to toggle some hard-to-reach plug-in appliance modules. I put them into a scene together on the isy, and seems to work fine, except that occasionally, if I press a little long on the mini remote, it will try to put the module into a dimming state instead of an on / off state. But the module only does on/off. Is there some way to set the mini remote just to toggle on/off, and not do any dimming (either through the isy, or on the mini remote directly?) Thanks!
lilyoyo1 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Holding any insteon button down will always send the dim command. There is no way to override that. If something isn't dimmable, it simply won't dim

Welcome to the forum! Sure. ISY can do almost anything. If Control MiniRemote is switched 'fade up' Then set Whatever to On. Else ------ Even SwitchLinc wall switches (with no dimming) will put out six different codes. On / Off / Fast On / Fast Off / Fade Up / Fade down. I use one MiniRemote to control 24 test programs.
Nugen Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Thank you! This is very helpful. This is actually more or less what I had tried- I wasn't given the option for 'Control MiniRemote is switched 'fade up' ', but I just set it >1. It seems my issue was that I was setting the Then response to the device in the scene, rather than directly to the device itself. When I switched that, it worked. Of course, because I don't have 'fade-up' as an option, I also don't have what I presume to be the analogous 'fade down', so this only works in one direction. This is fine for my purposes, but it does make me wonder why I don't have 'fade-up' and 'fade-down' as conditions. Any ideas on that? Thanks again!
Sub-Routine Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Make sure you are using Control and not Status.
