KeviNH Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 My Makerspace is looking for relatively inexpensive on/off modules with status reporting (e.g. current watts). The $35 DMOF1 "Dome Home Automation On/Off Plug-in Switch with Energy Monitoring, Z-Wave Range Extender" caught their eye. I prefer the Aeotec "Smart Switch 6" with the LED ring, but at $50, it's tough on their tight budget. Any other <$49 smart on/off modules worth considering?
simplextech Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 I have the DMOF1 but i have not included it into ISY yet. If you're looking for feedback on function I'll have to do that. For other options Zooz has good devices. What are the requirements you're looking for? Update: I pulled th DMOF1 out of a box of stuff and included it with the ISY with no issues. Everything works as it should/expected with energy reporting. Not bad little plugs. I have a bunch of the ZEN15 plugs that provide energy reporting and they work well with the ISY. I use these because they can handle heavy loads.
Dr. Q Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Look on Amazon for Neo z-wave on-off switch. They also go by Haozee and Zooz used to carry them. I have them all through the house, they show current voltage, current power, current current (heh) and total power in kWh. They automagically include, no button pushing, just set the ISY to include and plug it in. I love ‘em.ChuckSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
KeviNH Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 With the Aeotec, I use the wattage reporting in programs, can you see if "Status" for Watts works in the Dome or Neo? ZW13 - [ID 00AA][Parent 000F] If Status 'ZW 013 On-Off Power Switch' = On And Status 'ZW 013 Energy Meter' Watts (Current Power) Then - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

I have been wanting to monitor power on my sump pumps to keep an eye on them. Maybe it's time to add Z-Wave to my ISY. Paul

Sorry, no experience with Z-Wave. Paul

Sorry, no experience with Z-Wave. I don't yet have a node server, I'm still on 4.7 at home. Reporting and conditions are all native, automatically appeared when I included the Aeotec to the ISY. Seems to be updated every minute, I think there is a configuration value on the Z-wave device to change reporting frequency.

Here's a screenshot for the Zooz ZEN15 power plug energy reporting: Reporting is configurable via Z-Wave parameters for how often it reports based on time or value thresholds.

That looks great! Thanks so much. Just Ordered a couple along with the ZWave Plus dongle for my ISY.
robin71 Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I purchased some of these HAOZEEs from Amazon for $30https://amzn.to/2NYKxCr They are pretty cool in regards to power management, however, they don't seem to report whether they are on or off. I haven't had much time to play around with them yet. Here are a couple screenshots.
simplextech Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 @robin71 I have that Dome plug and I've noticed that the ISY AC is what doesn't update sometimes when z-wave devices change. It's not an all the time but I did notice it a few times while testing out and adding z-wave devices.
TomL Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Anyone know of a 240v energy monitoring plug. Does ISy allow you use wattage to triggger items, such as IF wattage greater than XX, THEN THIS, might be able to use for triggering devices when Oven or Dryer are on or off, and to tell when Dryer is done by wattage use. Never thought of using these for triggering other items before, thanks for the ideas!!!
Michel Kohanim Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 @TomL, ISY definitely allows you to use wattage in programs. We use RCS PCM40 for our CEC project and they are quite reliable. We have a few left. If you want one, please send an email to sales@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel
