ronbo Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Just purchased a nex EZIO2x4 . I have tried all 3 methods of linking. MY PLM and EZIO are plugged into the same circuit less than 1 foot from each other Device appears, but no links get added device is marked with red exclamation. If I select write updates to devices, i get the error shown in the attached trace ISY-Events-Log.v4.7.3__Mon 2019.07.01 12.27.04 AM.txt
ronbo Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 (edited) After hours of testing I determined it was a communication error. I resolved that issue and was able to successfully link the EZIO2x4 to my ISY. However I am not being notified when the inputs change unless I do a query. This was a problem years ago and I thiought it was fixed ? I have attached the level 3 log of the device being added, as there were some "unexpected response" errors. Any help appreciated ISY-Events-Log.v4.7.3__Mon 2019.07.01 02.37.21 AM.txt Edited July 1, 2019 by ronbo
Michel Kohanim Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 @ronbo, Please unlink and then link again. If the problem persists, make sure you get status feedback from other devices. If you don't, restore your PLM. If you do, please contact SimpleHomeNet tech support. With kind regards, Michel
ronbo Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 Thank you Michel, I have linked and unlinked several times. It always links no problem except for the unexpected response see below. I consistently get no feed back from the EZIO, All other devices work fine. I will contact SimpleHomeNet. On a separate note, would you recommend making the move to Version 5 Mon 07/01/2019 02:27:49 AM : [Std-Direct Ack] 23.8A.D6-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Mon 07/01/2019 02:27:49 AM : [INST-ERX ] 02 51 23 8A D6 3D 93 38 15 2F 00 01 01 04 47 00 09 0A 0B 0C 00 00 00 00 00 Mon 07/01/2019 02:27:49 AM : [Ext-Direct ] 23.8A.D6-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=1, Hops Left=1 Mon 07/01/2019 02:27:49 AM : [Ext MH ] Unexpected Response (i.e. DB range): ignored
ronbo Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Michel, I contacted Dhawal at smartenit and he was very helpful. In order to have the EZIOxxx send commands when the input state changes there are a few things that have to be done. Firstly the links must be created. (We know this works). Secondly, the EZIO must be told what to do when the input changes. This involves telling it the group as well as the commands to be sent. From the PLM trace, I was able to see that my setup was using groups 9 and 10 for input 1 & 2 respectively. I was then able to use the smartenit utility to tell the EZIO2x4 to send CMD 11 0 on the OFF to ON transition and CMD 13 0 on the ON to OFF command. Seems like a lot of work for something that should be intuitive, but I guess that is the cost of flexibility. Dhawal did promise a write up that I could forward to you, and if I receive it I will forward it.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 @ronbo, Thanks so very much for the update. This must be new since EZIO always worked without any modifications. With kind regards, Michel
