Garage door interaction

This subject was touched on years ago, and I'm not sure if there is any new flavor on it now?

I have  a KPL button which shows locked/unlocked status of a Schlage lock that goes from the house to the garage.  I have it programmed as to show on when the door is locked - works great.  The Chamberlain overhead garage door was left open the other night and found in the AM.  (Thankfully nothing was missing) .  I have the MyQ installed on the door and also have the app on my phone (also works well).  

Is there any (easy) way to get the MyQ to talk to the Insteon/ISY network and add a status call that could be used on my KPL.  i.e., IF: Schlage is locked and IQ shows closed, THEN: turn KPL button ON?

You could just put a sensor on the door. A device installed locally would provide better information over a cloud based system

I have the myQ system but I screwed a CAO wireless tag to the top of the door and now ISY notifies me via voice and flashes lights when the door us left open. It was the easiest path to install.

My other garage door is monitored by an ioLinc and is much faster. I do not control my garage doors.

larry:  Could you give me a step-by-step on how you did it?  i.e., location on door through picking up the data in ISY and maybe the program you wrote.

For the CAO Tag I screwed one diagonally to the top panel of the metal door so that it sticks above the metal.This is for better RF transmission and faster motion activation as soon as the door moves from fully closed.

The Tag online website includes a Kumoapp section where you can write javascript to send your output data to wherever you want. Mwareman wrote some script to stuff outputs into ISY variables and I made some improvements on that, posting them here each time. I use one of the XYZ axises that changed the most to determine the door was not fully closed. Another alternative would be to use a Polyglot nodeserver designed for this purpose.

Here is a thread on setting the Tag code up. It can be cut and pasted into the webpage for your Tag manager setup, then the variable numbers and personalised Tag names you have assigned, can be modified in the code. It should be mostly obvious and help is always here.

@alf there is a Polyglot for MyQ - you could run that and then program it in the ISY directly. I would go that route if it was me as its a cleaner way to do what you want.

You guys are miles ahead of me, slow up?  What I can gather from the forum(s) that discuss this is tha I must have 5.X software first of all, is that right?  I see no Polyglot tab anywhere in my ISY.  Once I get my equip. where I need it, could someone then give me the MyQ For Dumb aLf book?  How do I then get the MyQ to talk to me and can I write a program, or does it have to be done with a variable?  I'm capable, but way behind the curve in ISY.
