Replace ISY994i-IR with 994i-Zwave

I am currently using a 994i IR with the latest beta software 5.0.16B - I wanted to add some Z-Wave components, so I ordered a 994i Pro with Zwave.

What is the process for migrating from one ISY controller to another. I'm thinking both about the PLM as well as proper sequence of deleting  and adding the new component.

Obviously step one is back up the current ISY 994.

I was then presuming to connect the new ISY to the network, upgrade to the same firmware, and then restore the backup from the prior ISY

Do I need to delete the PLM first to disassociate from the original ISY? Or can I spill connect the current PL as configured to the new ISY once it is upgraded and restored?

Just want to make sure I am not missing any steps or doing something out of sequence.

Thanks

Thanks - the only thing I'm not clear on is the new ISY Wave controller I ordered likely will have 4.x firmware, and I'm running 5x on my current ISY

So update the new one to 5.x first, correct? Then follow those steps?

Thanks

I assume you mean Z-Wave controller, and all new Z-Wave units have the newer 500 series Z-Wave dongle included, which requires the 5.x.x firmware, so the shipping unit should have usable firmware.  It might not be the latest and greatest, so you might upgrade to that, but it shouldn't be the 4.xx series.
