I'd like to share my experience with this new switch.  This double switch is meant to control a ceiling fan and its light, but I actually used it for a different purpose.

In our breakfast room,  the ceiling fan, until now,  was controlled by separate switches for the fan and the fan light. On one of our balconies I have ceiling lights without switches. (When our condo was built, I had asked for  lamp fixtures on the balconies, but the builder forgot to install  the switches. I installed screw lamp modules (Zwave) in these fixtures and controlled these from the Administrative Console).

Now, I replaced the fan light switch with this new Zooz double switch, using the upper part (dimmer) for the fan light and did not connect the wires of the lower switch to anything. However, as I had expected,  both the upper and the lower switch were included in my ISY, and in the Administrative Console I programmed the lower switch to control my balcony lights.

It is a bit of a long explanation, but the main point is that this Zooz switch included without any problem in my ISY and serves my purpose. If you want to use this switch to control both fan and fan light, then note that fan speed can not be controlled. That is why I kept my separate switch for the fan.

@asbril Thanks for the write up on this. I was considering replacing two switches for my deck fan which I installed last year. But the lack of fan speed control is likely a deal breaker.

Good to know this works in ISY.  I was just going to post to ask if anyone had tried and then found this thread through searching.

I plan to get these for my kids rooms and guest room since the speed of the fan isn't something that needs to be changed much in these locations.

I'll have to run new electric with another conductor for the fan motor, but that will be more annoying than difficult.

@asbril So if you touch the switch to turn a light on does the change reflect in the AC or whatever app you use with the ISY?

I just installed two yesterday and neither one reports the status back to the ISY for the light.  The relay portion does, but not the light.

Yes it does show in the AC. I just manually activated the light and it shows 45 % in the AC.

I've seen on Amazon but don't have it (yet). I see no reason why it should not work.

I bought one of these last week and it works perfectly.  I named mine Office Power Strip (OPS).  It has 5 controllable outlets, seen in my pic as OPS ON_OFF CH-1 (-5), a setting to turn on/off the whole strip, and settings to turn on/off the 2 USB ports.  The energy monitoring (not shown in my pic) only monitors the actual outlets - not the USB ports.  It is great for plugging in a couple of PCs and a few other devices that I may need to reboot if they freeze up.  I have one pc that I use to transcode audio and video, and occasionally it will just die.  Turning the socket off, and then back on lets me get back to work.  I also have a special box that does something similar for 4 devices, and will ping them and automatically reset the connection if they are down too long.  This power strip was about $100 cheaper than that box.  I plan on using the Ping node on my polisy to set up a similar deal with the power strip (if missed pings >= 100 then turn the socket off and on).  That should also work with really any smart outlet/plug.

I got it on Amazon for $79.95.  It sounded expensive to me until I figured out it has 5 z-wave controlled outlets.  Now it seems much cheaper compared to buying individual outlets.

How are the nodes showing in your Admin Console? I'm running 5.03 and this is what I'm seeing:

     

The Dimmer Switch and On-Off Power Switch nodes look as I would expect but Binary Switch shows a status of "Off" no matter what the state of the device, Status on the Basic Control 2 node is empty and Scene Button screens show nothing.

       

Does yours look any different? Are you able to get the Dimmer Switch to work as a controller for an ISY scene?

I just make a simple use of the switch, with the dimmer controlling the fan lamp and the second button (at the bottom) working as a trigger in a program to control the various lights on one of our balconies. There is no scene and when I have some time I will check though, in fact, I don't use scenes (other than to create groups for my Mobilinc Pro App).

@asbril does the Zooz double switch report status (at least the top light switch) back to the ISY? Thinking of an application that I need to use status in a program.

I'm halfway through installing one of these and it's not going great.  First, let me state that I'm on FW 5.0.16B, and have the 300 series dongle. 

After several false starts, I have the set of nodes displayed in the attached image.  I can control the Dimmer Switch node, but I need to query it to get it to show the correct status.  It also doesn't have an Options button, and looks exactly like an Insteon dimmer, so I'm wondering if the ISY got confused when adding it.  The 26.1 On-Off Power Switch can be controlled, and also automatically updates the status.  Cool.  The Binary Switch and Scene Buttons are blank, but that's consistent with what everyone else is reporting.

I could probably live with it as it is now, except that, as the image shows, it claims that updates are pending to everything except the On-Off.  It's been that way for 8 hours now.  I have clicked "Write Changes" on the dimmer, right clicked and selected "Write Updates to Device", rebooted the ISY, and nothing changes.

I can certainly exclude it and include it again (will be the 6th time), and might just try that after posting.  I could do a network heal, too, but I'm reluctant to, because I spent 4 hours yesterday adding a Schlage lock, and I'm afraid to do anything with network-wide consequences unless absolutely necessary.  Also, the Zen30 is in a temporary box close to the ISY to do the inclusion and setup, and I'd rather not heal until it is installed in its permanent location.

Recommendations, anyone?

Updated to 5.0.16C, and the pending updates are gone.  I hope they'll still be gone in the morning.

The Dimmer node still must be queried, and there are still no options for setting the variables.  After I do the physical installation, I'll do a network heal and see if anything changes.  If not, that's OK.  I only need to be able to set the dimmer on/off.  The relay MUST be sensed when manually switched.

Someday I'll upgrade to the 500 series dongle and >5.0.16, but the war stories of that dongle with the Schlage locks are holding me back.

This thing is totally kicking my butt.  I've done 11 excludes and includes now, and one hardware reset of the switch (after exclusion #7 or so).  I can't seem to get it to behave well any more than 5 feet from the ISY.  I have tried putting another device between it and the ISY, and doing a network heal several times, but it's no use.  It keeps getting "can't communicate" errors on the dimmer part, but not on the relay.  Another  weird thing is that several actuations of the relay button can make it connect again - sometimes - but eventually it fails again.

I'll probably permanently install it tomorrow, because I really need a dual switch in that box, even if it isn't automated.  But if anyone has any suggestions on how to get this thing to behave - other than upgrading my dongle and moving to 5.3 - I'm all ears.

@asbril: did you ever try this switch with the 300 series dongle and/or 5.0.16?  How far is it from your ISY?

I am pretty sure that I installed this switch after upgrading to the 500 series dongle.  The switch is almost furthest from my ISY, but I have a strong Zwave mesh network. I suggest that you try to the add the switch close to your ISY (*) and if that works, then move to the desired location. (**).

(*) I put together a "portable"  switch box connected to a plug, and I use this connect new switches near my ISY, before moving to desired location. If  "include" does not work, then try first an "exclude".

(**) If you only have a few Zwave devices and are concerned about the signal not reaching your switch, then gen a few Zwave  plug-in devices that you put along the route between your ISY and the switch. Non-battery Zwave devices will repeat the signal.

As far as (*), that's exactly how it is configured.  I have always included it about 5 feet away from the ISY (since first trying about 10 feet away and failing).  It works fine there, with rapid response and no communication errors.  When I unplug it and move it any significant distance from the ISY, the errors start, and get intolerable by the time it gets to where I want to install it, which is less that 20 feet from the ISY, with a few walls between.

As far as (**), I have done that, too.  I have another pigtailed box with two outlets in it: a GE/Jasco and an Intermatic.  Both of them are easily controlled by the ISY.  As my final attempt to fix the problem, I plugged it in halfway between the ISY and the Zen30 final location, with only one wall and less than ten feet between them.  First I tried it without healing, and then with a network heal.  I still get the errors.  All this time, all of my other Zwave devices - that double outlet box, another GE/Jasco outdoor plugin module, and my Schlage lock (thank God) - have continued to work without a hitch.

So I'm thinking it's the Zen30, and either it's bad, or it isn't well enabled with 300 series/5.0.16C.  Given that it does work OK within 5 feet, I'm thinking the former.  But also given that the relay and the dimmer behave differently, and the dimmer doesn't report status for me like you say it does for you, maybe the latter?  I'll probably never know unless I upgrade, but I'm worried about the Schlage lock and 500 series range problems.
