Z-Wave Dedbolts with Phone Control

Featured Replies

Any Z-wave deadbolts that can also be controlled via a mobile phone app - likely wifi or bluetooth communications too? in the event that there are z-wave issues? and also, will the agave app be able to control z-wave devices (such as a deadbolt) via the ISY and a Z-wave dongle or daughter board?

I don't have one, but you might have a look at Alfred Locks.  Bluetooth, WiFi and Z-Wave.  Mobilinc could always open my Schlage Z-Wave lock through the ISY.  Sorry I don't know about Agave.

August

August is great within its own ecosystem. However August is extremely flaky. Not just with the ISY but other systems as well. Pretty much any automation forum has complaints from its users.

hmmm... I was just researching August... So if I add a z-wave dongle to my ISY, I cant reliable control, or know the status of the August lock?

I don't have any problem with mine.  But it is not on a door I use often.

meaning I can control, and know status reliably from either the August App, or my ISY (with Zwave dongle) and the Agave APP?

Yes.  (I don't use Agave, but have used Mobilinc).  Again, as far as reliability goes, it is not a door I use often; but I have been happy with it. YMMV.

Keep in mind, only one of their locks supports Zwave (August Smart Lock Pro)

looks like the Yale Assure locks... let me pick a zwave module insert, or a August insert...  and it seems to get good reviews mechanically and aesthetically

I have an Alfred lock that I'm liking so far.  Z-Wave module which works with the ISY.  The phone app is actually good and uses BlueTooth and there's an optional Wifi Gateway for it so you can use the mobile app away from home as well.  So far I've been pleased with this lock and it has worked in the different controllers I've tested it with (ISY, Hubitat, RTI)
