craigwalker Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 ISY 944i stops linking new devices, error message "Discovering Nodes; Retry". Anyone know what this means? Thanks, Craig
MrBill Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 What device are you attempting to link? What firmware and UI version (Admin Console: Help->About).
craigwalker Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 Mostly Insteon 2477D dimmer switches. I have been able to add just fine but over the last couple of weeks, linking has stopped and I get that message.
lilyoyo1 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Update your firmware and then clear your Java cache
craigwalker Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 Thanks. I'm not seeing anything in the admin panel about update the firmware. And not sure where to find Java cache...

And not sure where to find Java cache... You will have to download the firmware from the link contained here. Once it's downloaded, you can manually upgrade the firmware on your ISY using the following menu: "Help | Manually upgrade ISY". The Java cache in located on the computer you use to start the Admin Console on, not on your ISY.
craigwalker Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 Thanks again. Followed the link and tried downloading both files there. Then went to Admin Panel and the only option was for manual update of the ISY software. And that went nowhere.
DennisC Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Your Ui and firmware need to match, that's why you need to do an update. At the very least you will need to get the correct UI to match your firmware. If you go to the download thread and look for the upgrade to ISY Launcher. If you download this file, clear your Java cache, and then click on the downloaded file. The ISY Launcher will automatically match the UI for you. One note, there were two different ISY Launchers, so read the directions. One is for later firmware. If you decide to upgrade your firmware, download the file to your desktop and manually upgrade. When you click on the menu for manual upgrade the system will prompt you to backup. After the backup there will be a dialog box asking you to select the downloaded upgrade file. Do not unzip the download, the upgrade is done with the zip file.
craigwalker Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Got it working. Thanks for the assist! Craig
