Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Hi Harold, thanks. Please do keep me posted. What you are experiencing is not normal. I do not have that issue here. This said, with 2.7.7 and above, you have the option of running the Admin Console in Application mode which relieves you from having to have any browsers at all. With kind regards, Michel I can try IE tomorrow. Something else. I am just starting to put together the home system, and this may be normal. If I open the "keep open" window in FF, I am denied access to any other tab in that instance of FF. I just started a copy of IE and used that since it is not the default browser. That avoids the problem, but I really don't it should work that way with FF.
TJF1960 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Thanks Tim. That is the new IP, so the change has taken effect on your PC. Did you clear you Internet Temporary Files? I'd recommend closing all browsers, clearing the Internet Termporary Files, then rebooting. Which browser are you using? Please keep me informed. Hello Michael, It has been a couple of weeks and I am still having to hit the stop button (red X) in IE8 sometimes to get the pages to display. Maybe 2 out of 10 times the page wont load, just a blank screen, pressing X will load the page. I thought perhaps it was my computer however since my last post I have replaced the harddrive and reinstalled all my apps etc. from scratch and the issue has continued. Havent had any problems with other forums or websites. Like I said in the past, its not a big deal, just wanted to let you know. Thanks, Tim
Harold Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Michel, I made a new post in FF and had the same problem - not posted on first try. Then I just did a reply to that post with IE8. The problem did not occur. That is a small sample, but seems to point to a browser difference. You mentioned a different approach to running the admin console process. Could you point me to an explanation of how to do this?♦
Michel Kohanim Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Hi Harold, Yes, please go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.7/admin.jnlp . With kind regards, Michel
Harold Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Something else about the posting issue. I just made a post to another web site with the same result. First try fails, second works. It appears to be the V-bulletin software from the message I get on the fail. If you are using the same software it may point to the problem. N, in my first try with this post I see you appear to use different software.
Brian H Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 If you are using IE8 there are many hits in Google on it acting that way. Also a few tips on how to correct it. I have the same results with IE8 and many forums and web sites.
