3 way switch

Insteon used to have the 2383 which had a yellow traveler wire. Found one but it is dead. I have a 4way setup that i would love to add 1 switch rather than replace all 3.

I hope you find one.

You are talking a discontinued many years ago item and X10 transmit and receive only module.

You can always swap to zwave devices. Some such as the Zooz zen71 allows you to use a standard switch with it.

Ill look into it. Easier than switching out 4 switches.

What is your configuration now?  What switches are you using?

Read the first post of the thread.   He was previously using a deprecated product Insteon 2383 which has a yellow travellor wire, there are 4 switches in the circuit so he prefers 2383 (which is long ago discontinued) instead of replacing all 4 with switches (that are not available anyway).

Just installed a ZEN 76 in a 3-way configuration replacing the one switch which had the power and load. Ordered three more to install in additional  4 way and  3 way configurations. They work great with the iop and can easily be added to a scene. Also parameters can be set up for use with smart bulbs etc. I am replacing all the Insteon 2443-222 micro modules. They were very susceptible to power line noise causing lights to turn on and off randomly.

Just found my micro switch. In the instructions it says yellow wire is a sense for single momentary. Can i use this in addition to the 3 3way switches by using the sense wire on the traveler leg of my 14/3 going to the next switch

That is what I had done so I wouldn't need to replace any switches. I used latching as the 3-way switches are either on or off. Also I believe I used the common on the last 3-way. Will need to verify however. The only issue as mentioned above is that they are very sensitive to power line fluctuations. Also the length of one of my 4-way setups caused me to add a tie down resistor on the sense wire to prevent erratic behavior.

Does every 3way switch in this 1 setup require a micro switch

Got it to work. I had to put it at the last switch going to light. Luckily i had a hot for a different light in the 1900 box. Grabbed line from another light. Load from micro to light then sense yellow to black screw on switch.
