Looking for advice on Smart bulb

I want to be able to control the light bulb above my stove (in the fan)

Its 830 lumens right now so I'm assuming 800 lumens is bright enough to see what's happening on the stove.

I have Alexa in the house for voice commands.

Ideally I'd like voice control, dimmable, and have it change colours.

I see a lot of them out there but I have no idea what's good. I read communication issues etc.

I'd also like to be able to integrate it into scenes/programs in the ISY.

Am I asking too much?

A possible issue is how the light is controlled now.  On mine the control is electronic with off, dim and bright settings.  i just tried leaving it on high and unscrewing the bulb for a minute, when I put the bulb back, just as I expected the control had reverted to off.

Another issue is the light over my stove light is a weird bulb, for which I doubt there is a smart replacement.

Magic home. Cheap and there's a Node server for it

Sorry for the delay in response.

I have the ISY 994i and the ISY portal. I'm not familiar with the Node server.

I'm assuming thats something extra I don't have.

The bulb is a regular bulb that has a dedicated switch on and off. If I take the light out and put it back in its still on.

So I'm assuming most lights would work? I'm just looking for one that I can integrate with my insteon/ Alexa voice commands

Yes that will work fine.

If you don't have node servers you could use a Wifi bulb with a Network Resource to turn it on, and another to turn it off.  The network Resource examples in the wiki only include examples for Phillips Hue which, while i love my Hue bulbs, is probably overkill for your needs.  That said it shouldn't be too difficult to work out a wifi bulbs Network resource needs.  @larryllix might have thoughts....

If you are just looking for a White bulb, there are many smart bulbs, sold in Walmart, and amazon that can be controlled with Alexa or GH voice control skills..

If you are looking for RGBW bulbs and want to control colours then you will need to get more complicated with software, NSs or Network Resources.

I have a program now that is essentially the ISY turning on a night scene.

I'm looking for a light that will integrate into that scene as opposed to having to tell Alexa to turn on the scene and then turn off the stove light.

I believe I can combine the two into an Alexa routine but I'm not sure I want to do that as the Night Scene works perfectly.

The only way you can integrate anything into an Insteon Scene is with an Insteon device. However, I think you are referring to a 'scene" in the generic sense and not Insteon Scenes", and I don't think I am following your logic of what you want to do, avoid Alexa groupings partially, all together, or use Alexa totally.
