My order of a UDISY994IZWIRPRO @ Home Controls was cancelled. They informed that "...the item you ordered has been discontinued and they are offering no replacement recommendations..."

When and why this Happen?

I ordered from Home Controls. Very rude customer service btw.

The 994 in the Universal devices link provided shows "out of stock" at the moment. I will follow your recommendation and try the Polisy.

I like the open source capabilities that Universal Devices provide.

Thanks MrBill

I case you're not aware there was a huge change in the IoT market recently when Insteon turned off their cloud servers. Many users scrambled to look for other options. Some rushed to buy the Polisy that were available. I'm sure it's just a run on stock and as soon as UD can get some more devices assembled they will be made available through the UD store.

You could contact them directly via email at:  sales@universal-devices.com

What kind of system have you been running? The ISY994 and Polisy both require a PLM (an Insteon device). Those are very difficult to get at the moment, so if you don't already have one you will want to subscribe to the UD Product News & Announcements email list by making an account and selecting that email newsletter.

Polisy  and Polisy Pro are out of stock. What is going on?

UDI has one Polisy in stock

The Polisy does not support IR. I'm not aware of any plans to add IR to the Polisy but there may be some 3rd party options.

Currently the Polisy supports Insteon and Z-wave. If you want Z-wave then also order the Zooz Z-wave 700 dongle from UDI

As @Geddy mentions, just email sales@universal-devices.com I don't think they are really out...

Unfortunately, we are out on Polisy Pros. And, only a few left of Polisy till the next shipment hopefully in June.

With kind regards,
Michel

I contacted UD sales department but they declined to sale because I don't have the PLM. I should get the Insteon PLM in the coming days from EBay but I'm concerned of the quality of this device. Their parts are not the best and capacitors don't last.

Would it be possible to make the Polisy work with the Insteon hub?

An additional idea.

there are several threads that detail DIY replacement of the crappy capacitors.  The capacitors in later versions of the hub seem to last longer than earlier versions.  There are also 2 ads on ebay that may be of interest to you:

Insteon Capacitors Schlyguy is also a member of this forum, these do ship from Canada but I had mine in about a week.

PLM repair I can't personally vouch for this guy, but I have emailed with him and his ad has been repeatedly posted without anyone coming back to complain about the service they received.

I can't emphasize on how much I appreciate these forums and so many smart people are helping ignorants like me.

fyi, I'm a biologist by training. Working in Molecular Biology for the last 15 years. I don't understand much about electronics but I love them when they work.

Evidently I'm too naïve to think that, since the Hub communicates to the sensors, there may be a possibility to transfer the information from the hub to the Polisy and make it work.

I may be wrong, but I think that man-made devices can be as complicated and simple as we want them to be. Quite different from the practical path approached by mother nature from the last 3.7 billion years.

I'll give that guy a +1... I had him do one of mine (hedging bets).  Took about a week or slightly more, but the repair job seems good, and it works.

When will the Polisy Pro be back in stock?

I believe Michel posted the shipment arrives in June.  They had a surge in Sales due to the demise of Smarthome.
