This happened a few months back. I thought my timers weren't working but it turned out they were, but only on LA time three hours late.

I knew what the issue was this time so no big deal but I'm wondering why it happened again. We might have had a power outage I didn't know about (thats what I attributed the last one to)

Is there a lithium battery I should be changing?

No batteries are in the controllers. Make sure you're on the latest firmware for your unit and that the firmware and UI matches

The firmware is 4.9.0 and it matches the UI

While trying to do a backup I got an error message

"Could Not Receive File/CONF/DISCLAIM.UDI"

Not sure if that's relevant.

This morning I set the time to Toronto again and when I re-opened the GUI it was LA time again.

Michel says the SD card is corrupt so I'm going to change it.

I'm reading the manual at

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1665223/Universal-Devices-Isy-994i.html?page=656#manual

I'm a little nervous as it says...

IMPORTANT - Formatting your SD card should only be done after consulting with
support!!
I have an SD card and a back up and the latest version 4.9 on my desktop.
The picture shows an old 99 and I'm assuming the SD card goes in the front of my 994i where it says MicroSD
(I'm also assuming I unplug everything beforeI pull the old SD card out and insert the new one...)

I then log on to my ISY GUI and manually upgrade. Then I restore from my backup and all should be good?

If I've missed something please let me know.

I've followed all the steps but now with the new SD card installed it the Launcher cant find my ISY.

I've typed in the URL and it still says not found.

Clearly I've missed something?

1 insert new SD card

2 format

3 load the 4.9 firmware

4 restore backup.

By the way... use the wiki instead of manualslib  https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting_an_SD_Card

but yes i've complained about that wiki page before.  the process is still the same, but it's a microSD card of up to 32gb instead of an SD card, the rest is correct.

the IP address might have changed, not sure if you're managing that with an IP address reservation.   Can you see in your router what the IP should be?

I've never had to change the (Micro)SD card on the 994i so can't really help you if you missed something. The steps are in the UD Wiki - https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting_an_SD_Card

Looks like the link you provided is to the ISY Cookbook (also available to download from the UD Wiki).

I'm in my router where the IPs are but theres nothing that says ISY.

All are identifiable (Echo, Apple TV, etc) except two.

One has the name --- and the other is Tuya

Would it be ---?

By the way Telnet (using Terminal) finds nothing and tells me Command Not Correct or something like that.

Actually neither have come up with an address for the ISY so now I'm twiddling thumbs.

Any advice on what to do next would help greatly.

reply to your ticket with this info.  It sounds like your ISY isn't coming up at all.  what are the front lights doing?

After some messing around I got the ISY IP address.

I had the GUI open and everything seemed okay then the GUI stopped altogether.

This is what I have on my ISY now.

I'm going to try another SD and see if I can restore my back up

(previous back up was done before all these issues)

When i put in the new SD I try to Telnet and I get this

-bash: telnet: command not found

and the Launcher doesn't see any ISY.

(regardless if I Add its IP)

When I put in the old SD the Launcher finds the ISY but then crashes so I seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place...

If its my PLM am I screwed because Insteon is kaput?

(not sure how to check if its my PLM)

@andrew77

Since you're working with support on this issue I'd reply back to your ticket for further assistance. There isn't much more we could provide here that wouldn't be better supported by UD Support. Sorry.

Ultimately, let us know how this gets resolved. Just in case others have this issue down the road.

I have the ticket open with Michel. We were going back and forth but we’ve stalled. Not a jab at all. I know he’s busy. I have no control over timers or anything or voice control. Hahaha

how helpless I’ve become in my own home.

Thank you for the help

If it's been more than a day since his last reply, you might reply again... once or twice my replies to tickets never made it into the system

Responses have been spotty. I think they are probably piled on with work. Usually they are on it fast.

And its a holiday weekend (here at least)

As it stands now I have no functionality with the ISY. No programs or timers work.

Voice commands through Alexa don't work. I can shut off lights with the device itself.

I cant find the ISY in the Launcher so I cant reformat an SD card.

I don't know if its the SD card or maybe the PLM.

If its the PLM I'm stuck as Insteon is no longer.

I know I was told to wait for Michel to get back to me and if thats the answer I get here that's fine.

I'm just hoping to get something back online.

It sounds like you can't get the admin console running?   Do you know how to use your router interface to manually find i'ts IP address?   Is your computer windows or mac?

I logged into the Orbi with safari and found the IP. When I type it in (sometimes I leave out /desc and other times I keep it in at the end) It says Not Found

I have a Mac.

I can’t get anything running to do a reformat or anything you are correct

Saturday is usually Michel's day of the week off. Expect more action on Sunday, usually.

I figured as much. I’ve never known a better service experience than this forum and Michel.

Type it as http://IP.ADDR.FOR.ISY/desc then hit save.

If you're on a mac are you using the ISY Launcher, or are you using admin.jnlp?
