Is there support for Insteon Thermostat in ISY944i?

Yes, you can link to them. Depending on the version of thermostat, it may require you to query it. Newer versions send updates on more regular basis.

I use 2 of them to monitor temperature in basement and media server closet.

If you’re looking for a good thermostat, it falls very short. I’d get Venstar with Node server or NodeLink to get data into the ISY.

Are these wifi Venstar stats that you are talking about?

I have a number of 1700s and 1800s, in operation for many years, but they have the insteon dongles.

T7900 (3 of them) and I use NodeLink and used Venlink before it. I’m making plans to migrate my PG2 node servers and potentially NodeLink to PG3.

Very time constrained now so have to phase it all out.

I was thinking of buying one. However, I really do like my Honeywell with outdoor humidity sensor. I'm relatively new to the UD world and I have not figured out all of the Node server settings yet. But I thought Polyglot was down until further notice?

But I would be quite content with getting the temperature (and humidity) data to the ISY via some temperature measuring device that does not control the heat or AC and is powered by a plug and not 24VAC....and then I could keep my Honeywell.

Thermostat and 24 VAC wall wort to power it. Thermostat is open. There is a flip cover to hide all but LCD display. I bought wall wort and wired it into thermostat terminals. It’s in unfinished basement on back side of wall — not pretty. Lol

Only Polyglot Cloud is offline.  Polyglot2 and Polyglot3 both run on Polisy and are not offline.

The Venstar Colortouch T7900 is working very nicely for me.  A couple of things to consider if you're interested in one:

• the API for the thermostat is local, and there's a PG2 Node server available for it
• Venstar have remote temperature sensors available -- indoor, outdoor, wired, wireless, etc.
• there is a cloud service available from Venstar at no charge, if you desire it, but it's not mandatory
• there's a Nodelink Node server available for it, but Nodelink doesn't run on a Polisy
• the PG2 Node server doesn't display humidity % or expose humidifier functionality, though it's available in Nodelink

@Goose66 is the author of the PG2 Node server, and he's indicated that it's coming to PG3...

Unfortunately I am selling my house. I think I will be taking the Venstar Colortouch with me (putting back the old Insteon thermostat so they all match), but if I am renting for a while (looking likely), I may not be able to have it available for testing of the conversion. May need to get somebody to help. Similar story for Autelis, MyQ, EnvisaLinkl-DSC, and iAquaLink, I'm afraid.

Hey, that's pretty cool. I can't say that I've ever seen a 24VAC wall wart. I'm going to look for one. I picked up a thermostat for a few bucks.

Venstar made an ACC0436  kit to allow folks with a simple two wire heat only setup. To use one of their programmable units that need a constant power feed. It was a 24VAC 200mA wall wart and a 24VAC coiled relay. So the unit could get power and isolate control for the two wire controls.

Hey, that's pretty cool. I can't say that I've ever seen a 24VAC wall wart. I'm going to look for one. I picked up a thermostat for a few bucks.

It depend on which thermostat. The early thermostats were a Venstar branded with an Insteon dongle plugged in the bottom and as far as I’m aware it was required. There might have been a wifi dongle but I don’t know.

The version in my photo had Insteon built in as it was a Smartlabs branded product.

As pointed out.

The early models with Insteon support. Used a 2441V Insteon adapter into the Venstar T1700,T1800 and T1900 thermostat. http://cache-m2.smarthome.com/manuals/2441V.pdf.

The later ones sold by Smarthome had Insteon signaling installed and had a Insteon style part number. 2441T Thermostat, 27232-232 or 2441ZTH External Insteon thermostat. 

I also have not seen  a Wi-Fi modules for that line of modules.  There are some for the more modern models available. I did see a Venstar wireless external temperature module available for that line of thermostats.
