Not able to get the ISY to go online

I'm a total newbie to the ISY portal and am not able to get the ISY to go online.

The portal integration displays "offline".  Not sure about how to "resolve the DNS name for the portal" as you suggested.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you've added your ISY in the portal, you then need to go to the admin console, Configuratrion > Portals tab and "approve" the connection.  Have you done that?

My admin console has a white background, but here's what you're looking for:

@EVENALAINEN

First and foremost make sure that you have a network cable connected from the ISY to your router (or network hub). The device must be able to access the internet for Portal access.

Then make sure you've followed the directions on setting up the portal account.

Are you on ISY994 or a new Polisy that you're setting up ISY on Polisy (IoP)?

If on ISY994 - https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Installation_Instructions

If on Polisy - https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide#Setup_ISY_Portal_for_Remote_Access.2FAlexa.2FGoogleHome.2FIFTTT

Also, please let us know the firmware of the ISY that you are using. From the admin console use the "Help" menu then About and take a screen shot (image) of the Firmware and User Interface (UI) that you are using. These MUST match exactly. If they do not then follow the steps in the wiki for installing and using the ISY Launcher.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I am on ISY994 (on 5.0.13 firmware) and have followed the instructions as per the UD Wiki below;

ISY Portal Account Setup

There are three steps for having ISY communicate through ISY Portal:

1. Creating an account on " ISY Portal if one does not exist (click on the Create new account link). If one already exists, simply login

2. Registering ISY with your account in ISY Portal using ISY's UUID (Help | About - also included in your invoice). To do this click on the Add ISY button and copy/paste the UUID from your invoice or order notification

3. Giving permission to ISY to communicate with ISY Portal

  • Login to the Admin Console
  • Click Configuration | Portals tab
  • You will see a request for access from your account in ISY Portal
  • Approve it
  • You are done!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately in my case the portal shows up as offline and will not connect to the ISY Portal.
Tried to click the refresh button but no luck.
I only signed up for the 30 day free trial to se if this would work.

If you have an active 30 day trial subscription, or have paid already, what you need to do next is email your UUID to support@universal-devices.com  (they do answer tickets on weekends, just slower than weekdays.)

It's not supposed to be, but they might need to do something on the backend.

Thank you Mr.Bill. I did register the ISY994 UUID during the ISY Portal setup/registration.
On the ISY Portal the ISY shows up as "not connected".
The ISY is of course working normally in our house.
I will send a support ticket and hopefully they can figure something out.
At least I haven't paid for anything yet (just set up the 30 day free trial yesterday).

You've showed the screenshot proving you're not waiting where most people are, and that's to accept the connection on the portals tab.  I assume you've tried the refresh button?  Have you also tried rebooting the ISY?

Got a reply from the support folks and they had me upgrade to 5.3.4 firmware.
After the firmware upgrade the ISY portal connection started working.

My next challenge will be to see what the UD App and Alexa are able to do.

Thanks again Mr.Bill.
