polisy/zooz 700 -> eisy/zmatter

I migrated everything form the polisy to the eisy (node servers, insteon, homeasisstant (what a PITA) / homekit integration) and plugged in my zooz stick an everything is working.

Can't seem to find a clear answer.

is there a migration at all from zooz 700 to zmatter?

If yes above, can that be done on the eisy running 5.5.2?

Thanks,

According to what the firmware page for 5.5.2 says, yes it can be done.

Does it say that?  first sentence says.

"in this build we focused primarily on migration either from a Z-Wave network using our original implementation on Polisy/Eisy, or from an ISY-994 backup (containing a 500 Series Z-Wave backup)."

Would like to hear from someone that has tried OR someone that is building the migration that can say Yes/No or Not-Yet/Never.

If you read all the way through it, it also says:

Features

  • Migration from existing network (e.g. Zooz)
  • Migration from ISY-994 500 Series Backup

But you're more than welcome to wait. Hopefully someone who has done it will respond. You can also reach out directly to UDI via their support lines.

So, no issues with Insteon and Node servers?  I am interested in doing all of this (except HA, but including zmatter) but I don't want to have to re-enroll all my z-wave devices and fix all the programs...

Sorry I am confused and this is why I am asking. That instructions is from Dec 29th.  On Monday you replied to someone else's post where you indicated it was correct that you can't migrate from the zooz dongle.,

I'm willing to roll the dice a lot, but was just looking to make sure I am not spinning my wheels.

This means that (currently) migration can not be done from Zooz Dongle ?

Correct. This has been covered a few times on here and from Michel. Its still being worked on.

Insteon was seamless.  After 3.1.17 of PG3 nodserver was released, that became stable.  While I did not backup and restore as the instructions there indicated if you had multiple ISYs in the polisy you were managing node servers for, there was not a way to select which one was being restored, it was pretty straightforward, I have have another post where I listed the order of my steps.

As for zwave, to use my zooz stick I just plugged it in after the restore of the ISY backup to the Eisy.  My last piece of puzzle is to migrated the zwave nodes to zmatter and it hasn't been obvious to me which combinations are supported on which platforms.

So to use the Zooz on eisy, you first did a restore of a Polisy Zooz backup and thereafter you put the Zooz on the eisy ? All your devices, programs and variables are working on eisy ?

Any importance on moving the Zooz to eisy before or after the restore ?

I backed up my polisy (normal backup, there is no zwave backup).  I restored on the eisy and then was able to plug in the zooz dongle and use zwave no problem.  I have a procedure I followed and wrote up here,

I asked some questions in the "linked" post.

When I posted I was travelling at the time and I wasn't aware of 5.5.2 being released with the fix at that moment. Hopefully @Michel Kohanimwill be able to chime in and clarify
