Just upgraded successfully to 5.5.5.  What z wave speed setting is recommended for Z-wave plus door locks and earlier version Z wave locks (e.g., schlage or baldwin)

What do you mean by speed setting

What do you mean by speed setting

There’s now a communications speed setting in the Zwave menu.

It actually sets a delay between commands as opposed to truly speed.  The release notes say it may be useful for older devices or those struggling to be interviewed properly. I am thinking of trying it on a device or two which are not completing interview. I would likely try to move it back to default after that though as all my devices are talking ok outside of interview.

I tried different network speed settings for my 2016 vintage Schlage lock (not Z wave plus) as it will not add to the network,  I assume this is because the wave card in the lock is the 300 series and Z matter cannot communicate with it.  Setting the network speed faster or slower did not make a difference.  My Baldwin lock is Z wave 500 series and Z matter sees it without problem.  I was just hoping that changing the network speed setting would allow Z matter to communicate with the Schlage, but I guess not.

I’ve got 2 of those locks. Did you have a UD 500 series zwave board in ISY994 and migrate it to EISY or a 300 series zwave and reset and add to EISY?

Howd you accomplish that? Do you mean you used zooz with your polisy?

  • Author

Yes, when I was still using the 994

Sorry, I meant to say that after migrating to IoX on Polisy, I had a Zooz stick for the polisy.  After upgrading the stick to ZMatter, I can no longer add the older Schlage lock (wave 300) to the network.  I thought the network speed setting in 5.5.5 might allow me to add this lock.

Thanks, and understand. In your ISY, did you have a 500 or 300 series zwave board?

Its a ZW/IR Pro so I think it has a 500 board.

Ir pro doesn't infer 500 series. Did your board have a light on the back of it? What firmware was your isy running

Light yes.  It was always the latest firmware
