firstone Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Want to test some devices with a different controller.

firstone Posted February 5, 2023 Author Posted February 5, 2023 I'm not asking about how to move devices. IoX is switched to ZMatter and expecting ZMatter controller. How do I connect a different to controller to IoX?

firstone Posted February 5, 2023 Author Posted February 5, 2023 When I plug in Z-Stick into eisy, this is what I get:\\ How do I fix this?
gzahar Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 When I plug in Z-Stick into eisy, this is what I get:http://d2z8ydsemzif1x.cloudfront.net/monthly_2023_02/image.png.881a79f5045079cf28073bf44e55fe68.png\\ How do I fix this? Did you try unchecking Zwave support and rebooting? Then add back Zwave. Probably would require another reboot once other controller is added. Just a thought. I have no idea…
bgrubb1 Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Soooo. I have 4 Polisy's I manage that have the Zmater board installed. The one that I did the Zwave migration works great. The other 3 have the Zmatter Zwave not responding message Maybe try the Zwave migrate to see if it enables it ???
Techman Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 @firstone The eisy may not support the Zooz dongle. The Zmatter board won't be recognized by the eisy until you click on the migrate button and select one of the 3 options.
firstone Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Ok, allow me to elaborate. Both, Polisy and eisy come configured for non-Zmatter adapters by default. When you switch to ZMatter and run conversion, they're become configured for ZMatter. I have done it on Polisy and it works with ZMatter. I have also (prematurely) done it on eisy, because I was getting ready to move from Polisy to eisy. Now, because some devices don't work well with ZMatter, I'm considering using another adapter - 500 series. But because I already ran this conversion, the adapter is no longer recognized as eisy is expecting ZMatter now. I can try it in Polisy but I'm 99% sure the result will be the same. So I'm looking for a way to reverse ZMatter conversion / migration. 1
tlightne Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Did you run a backup before migrating to Zmatter? From what I read in other posts you can restore a backup taken before the migration.

According to the wiki: If you don't actually change your Z-Wave network by adding/removing Z-Wave devices after migration, you can back out the migration by connecting whatever Z-Wave dongle you were using before migration and restoring the backup you made prior to migration.
firstone Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 It's an unused eisy. I don't have a backup but I guess I can just restore to factory state. I think that can be done with eisy. Was just hoping for less drastic solution.
Geddy Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 @firstone Do you happen to have a (recent) backup from the Polisy before you migrated on that device? I mention recent because the IoX would probably need to be somewhat close to what you have in the eisy. Then restore that Polisy backup on the eisy. Just a thought. Rather than having to factory reset the eisy. But, if the eisy was never used what's the harm in factory reset?
