I simply kept hitting the update NTP and rebooting until it stuck. This assumes there are no network / ISP related issues at hand. I wouldn't worry about it right now and you can always use the sync with P.C. if there is a large drift. The ISY Series Controller has a RTC on board so the time drift should be very little until the NTP is able to connect and update.

j.rieff Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Just a quick progress report. Everything appears to be functioning as expected. I reinstalled the Motion Sensor II devices that were controlling outdoor lights. I think I was successful in "programming" them for night mode also. When I stepped out onto the driveway in the dark the lights came on. The lights did not come on during daylight this morning. So, this is probably a success so far. When I reinstalled the Motion Sensor II I noticed there are quite a few more features. Are there any programming guides for the Motion Sensor II? I have quite a few ideas for programs given these new features. Thanks for the inputs in advance.
j.rieff Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Here is an additional update concerning my conversion from 4.7.3. to 5.0.16C \I have an installation of a MSII linked to an Insteon 2868-222 Siren/Chime. In Version 4.7.3, this link was manual. This manual link installation had a chime sound upon detected motion. Application was to know when dog was at back door. She does not bark. After installation of Version 5.0.16C and manual factory reset of the 2 affected devices, a scene was created so that Siren/Chime would again chime upon motion detected. The default for the Siren/Chime in the scene: Duration=10 seconds, Delay=Immediate, Tone=Siren. Following changes were attempted: Duration=1 second, Tone=Chime. After all the changes, the result was a 10 second Siren upon Motion Detected. Not sure if 5.0.16C has incorporated all the feature for the Siren/Chime.

j.rieff Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 @dbwarner5 - I noticed the additional nodes also. Since only the Siren tone worked, I tried adding the other nodes to a scene. No options for Duration, … like the first node. I am still unable to get anything other a 10 second Siren (which are the defaults) when motion is detected by the MS II.

I have a isy994 zw and am using the udi_oadr_5.0.16C.zip ...I get to 96% complete and then receive a ”Upgrade Failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid)” I've rebooted the isy, I've cycled power on the isy, I've re-downloaded the firmware image...I've tried updating 5x times...I'm stuck. What does this message indicate, and how do I fix the issue?

I'd gotten lazy because the isy is on an isolated vlan...I've been accessing the admin console through the UD portal (rather than local direct lan access). Connecting to the isy locally let me run the update...I was unaware that trying to update via the portal is an issue (and perhaps that is firewall related). now hopefully everything is still working Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I rather hope that's a designed feature of the UDI portal -- it's bad enough thinking that a breach might expose my ISY's contents to a hacker, but at least said hacker can't change the firmware on my ISY...

Not disagreeing, but if this is a "feature", I'd hope for a clearer indication. Also why my home automation lives on separate vlan... building walls works both ways (says the guy that had his whs server ransomwared last year)

I suspect the fault is with the actual ballast dimmer device. Have you tried adding another responder to the scene and confirm that other responders in the same scene turn on and off appropriately?
pashdown Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 I'm on 5.0.16C and there seems to be a problem in consistently reading proper relay and sensor status from an 2450 IOLinc connected to a Greenlee ASV100 valve. Sometimes the relay reads "off" when it is actually "on", but most of the time the sensor slips from "on" to "off" within 48 hours, and the valve state hasn't changed (relay=on, sensor=on). I haven't busted out the multimeter yet to see if is the valve, but I did replace the IOLinc with a spare and it behaves exactly the same. I believe this was also happening on 5.0.16B. It never happened on 4.x. If I cycle the relay from on to off, the proper sensor and relay status is displayed. Oddly enough, I also have an IOLinc handling the garage door and I haven't seen any problem with. If this is a bug with the ISY firmware, it may only happen when the relay is in "latching" mode as is required for the water valve instead of "momentary" which is required for the garage door. Please let me know if there are any logs or further tests I can do to help isolate this problem.

I'd try moving to a few minutes after sunrise or sunset for that program. I'm not familiar with your ballast dimmer but its probably not a dual band device. I have one older device that doesn't work correctly if there is a lot of other traffic at the time it's supposed to turn on or off, on the other hand if i just delay it a bit it works fine.

I have looked in the error logs and they are pretty clean. Occasionally, I can reboot enough times and it will stop. However, if I make about any change, it all starts over again. The only short duration glitch was when you tried to synchronize your Z-Wave nodes. Are you certain you are using the ISY Launcher? With kind regards, Michel

Last night, I tried to add an Insteon device after rebooting and it went into an infinite Linking loop. I had to unplug the Insteon PLM and plug it back in and reboot the ISY. Now, we are back to the System Busy.. Randy

There is no status and no actions (other than query and write changes) shown in the admin console for the device. Before upgrading to 5.X.XX I had binary control (0% or 100%). I'm using Somfy ZRTSi devices.
