EISY Normal Temperature

I appreciate the body of the EISY is a heatsink but what is considered the "normal" surface temperature of EISY.  Mine is almost uncomfortable to pick up and a quick measure shows it at about 45C.  It is only running the standard UDI packages of Insteon plus a few Poly's - nothing extra.

Just concerned that running hot 24/7 will affect lifespan.

Put some ventilation spacers underneath or stand it vertically by some means.

Spacers can be short pipe slices or hex nuts.

I have a MeLE 3C running Ubuntu 24/7/375

Keep in mind the finned top is actually plastic, not aluminum.   Make sure it is well ventilated on all sides.

I use my eisy for development including the compilation of the whole OS, run eclipse, and chrome, and vscode ... although hot, it never reaches the point of not being able to touch it. As long as the top is ventilated, I wouldn't worry about it.
