2420m - current state not shown

I don't think so...

I have 5 other 2420s and ISY shows all of their states for motion sensor on/off, dusk/dawn on/off and low batt on/off.

With this one I don't see a state for any of them.

It does, indeed, work as I can link it to devices manually and control them. ISY sees it too, as it will add it as a device and set/read its options.

I wonder if it's faulty....

Hi MarkJames,

Long time no see!

For you to see the status of your motion sensor in ISY, there has to be 3 link records in the PLM for each node of the sensor. The first thing I would do is to do a count on PLM links (Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links table). It might be that you have reached the maximum number of links supported by the PLM. If the PLM link count is low, then the next thing is to restore your MS. If that does not work, then I think it would be time for a new MS.

All the above assumes that your MS is near an AccessPoint.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi, Michelle,

Yes... I've been away a bit.... we've had some health issues in the family to deal with so HA has been on the back burner for a while. Things are back to 'normal' now so I have some more time.

I think you've hit the nail on the head as far as links. I'm using a 2412S and the PLM link table count is now at 4228 and still counting! That's just wrong!

This is odd as I haven't added that much recently and my count was down in the 500's a while ago.

I had an issue trying to restore one KPL and ran the restore multiple times before it finally 'took'. That KPL had an 'all lights off' scene attached to it which contained some 90-100 links. I must have run the restore at least 5 times. Could it be possible that each time I ran the restore it duplicated the link records in the PLM? I ask because if that's the case then wiping my PLM and letting ISY restore it should fix my problem and bring my count back down.

Hi MarkJames,

I am so very sorry to hear about the health issues. I hope all is well and everyone is healthy.

4428 tells me that the PLM has gone haywire ... basically, there's no way that the PLM can hold more than 2000 links and thus it's probably restarting at the top every time it reaches the end. What I recommend is for you to unplug your PLM, give it a little rest (maybe a minute or so), plug it back in and do the count again.

Restoring KPLs, no matter how many times, should only overwrite the records for which there was a link; i.e. it simply updates the previous links if they exist, adds new ones if they don't, and removes those that no longer exist.

Once you are done with the reboot and if your count is still high, I recommend doing a Restore Modem ... but, since I suspect your PLM is defective, I am afraid your PLM may die in the process. So, let's do the count first and then we'll decide what to do next.

With kind regards,

Michel
