Michel Kohanim Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Hello all, Thank you for your support in helping us go through the alpha and beta stages of 2.7.8 and above. With the release of 2.7.15, we feel that we have an extremely stable system and we are entering a code freeze cycle of 10 days during which time no changes are made to the system unless absolutely critical. If no critical bugs are found, this release shall be our official release. As such, we would appreciate your help on ensuring that your system behaves as it should, it's stable, and you are happy with it! Please review the list of fixed bug and enhancements here: viewtopic.php?p=6475 Instructions 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip a. ISY 26 - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip b. ISY 99 - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.15 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.15/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates 9. General instructions (especially for adding V2 thermostats) for the new features in 2.7.7+ can be found here: viewtopic.php?p=27368 Upgrading from 2.7.8 through 2.7.10 Upon reboot, ISY tries to migrate all configuration files to release 2.7.15 levels. This said, however, in the case of KeypadLincs, the following settings shall be lost (ISY will be out of synch with your devices) for those KPLs that were setup/configured in 2.7.8 or 2.7.9: a. Button toggle mode b. Button backlight c. Button groupings (in scenes or otherwise) d. Button mutual exclusivity As such, if you have setup any KPLs in 2.7.8 or 2.7.9, it's best to remove them from ISY, do a factory reset on them, add them back and reconfigure them. Alternatively - and you have not made massive changes using 2.7.8/9, you can restore your 2.7.7 backup (File | Restore ISY) and let ISY migrate everything. Thanks so very much for your help and support. With kind regards, Michel Quote
Brian H Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I just downloaded the update and it failed at 44% of the install. I am sorry I didn't note the exact file name it said it could not read. I retried it and the second attempt went to 100% and after clearing the Java Cache and rebooting everything looks fine. It may have been AVG as I can't find any way to turn it off easily. I did turn off Zone Alarm. Quote
brobin Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Install was a breeze. Everything came back effortlessly. Quote
nstein Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Hi Michel, A little late, but .. Copy Scene attributes doesn't seem to work right for thermostats (V2); Set-points get swapped, and the mode doesn't change. Apply changes to all devices doesn't seem to do anything when changing thermostat, and gives a Request Failed error when changing another device in the same scene. This is all in the Admin Console, I haven't actually tested the links yet. Thanks, Nick Quote
someguy Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 what does "code freeze" mean? is it the codename, like "Operation Thunder" or something? (bad joke) Quote
apostolakisl Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 The install went fine and at first use, no problems. Does this mean that the next drop will have the Elk control module?!!! Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 Hi Nick, We are going to look into it and see if it's a trivial UI issue and, if so, it shall be fixed. Otherwise we will have to leave it for the next cycle. someguy, that was quite funny! apostolakis, hopefully as we are currently working on it! With kind regards, Michel Quote
khargy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I've tried on both my PC and Mac and it won't get past 6% I'll get: "Socket Open Failed java.io.IOException: An Established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" and then "Upgrade Failed: Invalid Length" Ken Quote

With kind regards, Michel but seriously, what does "code freeze" mean? Typically, it means that the source code is locked and developers are not allowed to make unapproved changes to it. This is used to prevent minor changes going in and generating new bugs right before a release. Only fixes to critical bugs would normally be allowed during this time. Those would have to be well understood so that risk to other parts of the code are known. Basically, now that it's been tested for a couple of weeks, don't break it right before release Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Hi Ken, Please try using httpS://your.isy.ip.address on your MAC and let us know if you are still experiencing the same issue. On PC, the source of most of these issues is firewall software. With kind regards, Michel Quote
tedbusen Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Followed the directions and it installed just fine. Everything appears to be working. Thanks for all the hard work. Quote
mcmcomput Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Installed just fine w/ no glitches yet... Quote
gviliunas Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Thank you Michel and your team for your hard work and dedication to this project. I have been using 2.7.15 for a week and everything in my system is working perfectly! Greg Quote
MarkJames Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 My upgrade went smoothly. I think I upgraded too quickly, though, and got a brain freeze. This might be related to the code freeze you mentioned earlier. I'll try upgrading more slowly and see if it's reproducible. mark Quote
junkycosmos Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 updated from 2.7.14 to .15, update went smoothly however my previous issue remains EZRaing Irrigation Unable to update zone 1 time out Using an EZ Raing Irrigation Controller. I can successfully update the timeouts for all of the zones except for zone 1. When I click set options for zone 1 it reads the timeout of 15 mins by doing a query, I then change the time to 30 mins and click "ok". Notably the ISY does not display the progress bar when I click "ok" setting zone 1 but it does for setting of the other zones. Re checking the "Set Options" reveals zone 1 timeout is still set for 15 mins. Thanks again to the team for the updates you keep working ! Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Hello junkycosmos, Thanks so very much for the feedback. Do you actually get and can set a different timeout value for each zone (except zone 1)? With kind regards, Michel Quote

Re checking the "Set Options" reveals zone 1 timeout is still set for 15 mins. I can confirm junkycosmos' findings. Only zone 1 timeout reverts back to its previous time, in my case 10 minutes because I had used the SHN utility to set the timeouts a while back. Zones 2-8 will retain the new time out settings. I however do not get the progress bar when changing the time out for any zone, but the timeout window stays open for about 1-2 seconds longer for zones 2-8 than it does for zone 1 after changing the timeout and pressing ok. Michel Kohanim Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Hi Tim, Thank you so very much for the confirmation. I have logged this as a bug and we shall have it fixed in our next release. With kind regards, Michel Quote
